Was NOT what I expected. The bones had nothing on it. I paid about $40 for the two bones. I have not given my dog the second bone, it is still in its open package in a ziplock bag in my freezer. I pulled it out to show the comparison bone 1 how they looked when I received them, bone 2 after 2 weeks, and bone 3 is just a comparison to other companies and other bones (3rd bone is a pork femur). The pictures will show that they are NOT 8" and barely hitting that size. The images show: Bone 1: Image show the bones how they looked the day I received them. Bone 2: After 2 weeks. Bone 3: Just a comparison that this $2.00 bone has more meat than what I received on two bones; in addition, the 3rd bone is about 8", and a pork femur. I buy my dog Arya big bones because she is a big time chewer at 8 months and I believe she deserves a treat at least twice a week. The bison bones 1 and 2 are definitely NOT what is showing in the images the quality to me isn't worth it. These bison bones I got definitely had NO kind of meat on it, the web site states that it's roughly. 8" - 10", and it was neither. Furthermore, i'll stick with my Walmart, Amazon, and Feed store purchases on bones going forward. I will NOT be purchasing any product from this company. I feel that it is False advertising, corporation and deceptive tactics and practices. read more

With their meat I've finally resolved my family's histamine problems. Every other meat market (online or in-store) does some degree of wet-aging. But I've finally found a place that has options for quick-frozen meat. It's a drastically noticeable difference from the wet-aged products we were consuming (in terms of our symptoms from histamine intolerance). And the meat tastes great! The prices are the best. I especially love the Old world ground blend, the hangar steaks, ribeyes, liver, and heart. Also, they offer raw milk cheese. This place is legit. Ordered several hundred dollars of food from north star bison,Oxtails were so small . Called Customer Service and spoke with Courtney who stated she was the manager and stated to me yep,yep . She gives a bad example of customer service to customers. She needs to be required to take a course at the local high school or college on Customer Service Skills. Bad experience with latest order. Each package of meat (30 lbs) had tears. I never had a bad experience with Northstar Bison and have been a loyal customer for quite some time. Please revise your refund policy. I contacted customer service within 24 hours with images and was told it was the shippers fault when this has never happened or been an issue before.I believe it's the way the items were packaged. With previous orders, if I ordered at least 12 of the same type of meat it'll be packaged together in it's own box within the larger box, this was not the case this time. The meat was packaged loosely which most likely attributed to the damages. Long story short no refund given- In my case this is how a loyal customer was treated. read more

I'm on a low histamine diet, and once we came up with a plan together, the process has been very smooth. I really respect this company and their products. They work their butts off trying to raise animals the right way, the humane way, and deliver the freshest products. We love them, quite truthfully. I've had the great pleasure of meeting Mary, one of original owners of the family, whom has since retired. She is such a great human being with endless amounts of knowledge. I order a grass fed ground bison supply every six months and it is always delicious, nutritious and a great source of nutrients. it is our family's main source of quality meat. I don't give out 5 stars too often. But, in this case, Mary Graese's customer service has earned a 5 star rating from me. She has addressed all my concerns regarding my bison meat orders. She has accommodated my special requests for a standing rib roast. When their butcher froze my rib roast, Mary immediately contacted me to verify if indeed I wanted it fresh, not frozen, and rectified the mistake. I received my order within the time promised. The frozen items were still frozen and the bison rib roast was fresh. So, I don't know how valid is "Bryon H.", from Muncie, IN, complaint. I do have to admit that bison meat is pricey, but the price of healthy, grass-fed meat outweighs the cost. Grain-based feed is not a cow's or a bison's natural food. So, what an animal puts into their body is what we get out of it. read more

Company has no concern for privacy of customers. As soon as you open an email from them, they put a cookie on your computer and follow you all over the internet with ads. So scary and creepy. I was a first time customer, and now I am hesitant to even try the meat I already purchased. I received my 2nd order from Northstar Bison yesterday. Once again very fast delivery. I placed my order on Sunday afternoon and received it on Tuesday. One of the items I ordered was the Bison Bone Broth Tallow which I have never tried before. Ordered several different types of Bison patties. The Bison Ground Round patties were the worst I have ever tasted, dry as can be - tasted like cardboard. Zero flavor, and I sauteed them in water and onions. I can't eat them! The Ground Steak patties were better, acceptable, not nearly as flavorful as the patties I had bought here locally at Fruitful Yield. The Brat patties were also okay, just acceptable.
