They always pump the gas for you ! What a treat. You can use your credit card or pay cash, however in the over 14 years I've purchased gas there I've never been charged more to use a credit card rather than pay cash. 45 cents a gallon more today, and I was not informed. I was told they could not give me a receipt, which I've encountered with their pumps before. Do not give them your business. This is price gouging at it's best. It doesn't cost them an extra 45 cents per gallon in fees to provide the customer with the option to use a credit card. Don't let other places like this fool you.

For both front and back brakes with labor, I paid $240. In my opinion.. a real good deal! The parts were ordered on the spot and someone was sent to pick them up however, the place was closed and I was asked to come back. I returned at 6 the next day and the job was completed by 6:30. Fast, reliable and efficient service. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he answers them honestly and with the best recommendation possible. I asked him for suggestions on what else needs to be done, he was very helpful. P.S: the shop closes at 6 and the team had no problem staying to change my brakes. I will be back! Thanks Pablo!

Staff was great about explaining everything that needed to be done and why. Any questions I had was answered and I even got to see what exactly it was. Usually automotive shops are kind of private and I don't really get as informed as I did here. Alex and Sal are awesome! I first started coming to 45th Auto Repairing after Hurricane Sandy hit…read moreand my car wasn't starting. My car was parked down the street from the shop so I walked in to see if someone could take a quick look. Alex was very nice and came by, popped the hood, tinkered around for a second and then started the car right up. Ever since then I've been taking my car to them for everything. It's hard to find a competent, trustworthy mechanic shop and I lucked out with 45th Auto Repair. Their prices have always been fair and they don't try and they never "find" additional things wrong with the vehicle that need fixing. I recall one time my car broke down late at night so I got it towed to one of the 24 hour garages in Astoria. After the guy replaced the battery he gives me one of those, "Oh, while it was up on the lift we found this wrong with it...we'll fix everything for $400". I smelled BS so I didn't have them do any additional work on the car, then the next day stopped by 45th so they could look at it and told me that there was nothing wrong or in need of repair. Other times they'll be frank and tell me they noticed something that will probably need to be replaced/worked on in the near future but in the meantime it's running fine. They're always on point when it comes to their observations. They're always very straight up with me and tell me what they think may be wrong, how long it may take and about how much it will cost to get the job done. Usually when I leave my car I can get it back within a day or two and the work is always top notch. They're also very accommodating and will try to work with you if you need to drop the car/key off after hours and have been very kind to me as far as helping me out of situations such as my car not starting after being stuck in the snow and giving me advice. Alex and Sal are really great guys and I'm lucky to have found such great mechanics. I highly recommend!!!

Three weeks and multiple daily calls and visits later, we finally were told the car was fixed. He charged us more than he quoted, and the two weeks later the engine blows again!! When we brought it back, he claimed there's nothing he can do. So we took it to a trusted guy in Fort Lee, NJ and that's when we found out how badly Nigel botched the job. Missing bolts and parts and hoses not hooked back up - total mess. We took him to court and we won, only to have him refuse to pay the court ordered damages and threaten to counter sue. Of course, no court took his claim, and we went back to the court to force his hand in paying. What a nightmare! This place is NO PLACE for anyone not looking to get screwed. Run away!
