After months of trying to get an appointment, I drove an hour to their Brooklyn clinic. Upon arrival, the rude female receptionist tried to claim my visit through my insurance. She didn't understand I purchased a Groupon deal. The nicer male receptionist thankfully resolved this before it turned ugly. Then the receptionist tried to administer B12 shot. I explained I'm not only here for the shot, and that's when the doctor finally came in. Body composition test was me merely hopping on a scale, consultation was him reading my BMI off the scale. He then rummaged through his fridge full of expired meds, left the room, and after a while returned with 4 shady syringes. He administered one and gave me the rest to administer on my own. No explanation to how I should store or administer them. He then again left the room and after a while returned with a shady open bottle of pills with another patient's name on it. How unethical and illegal!!!!! I asked how I should follow-up for my subsequent body composition test, he says I don't need it. I don't know what he put in my body, and what I'll put in my body if I continue to administer the shady shots and eat these shady pills. What a complete waste of my money and time. This clinic should close and he should be arrested!!!!!

Dealing with this practice turned into a nightmare, capped off by false, fraudulent billing!…read more Needing a highly specialized, complex surgery, I called the office and relayed a message ahead of time for Dr. Peter Marta specifically explaining my precise condition, and asking if he could perform the procedure in a manner that would not cause permanent damage (since the cookie-cutter manner in which the surgery is often done to save time damages other portions of the body). Marta's assistants relayed back that they had shared my precise case with him, and said that Marta told them he knew how to perform the surgery in the manner that would protect me from such problems. However, after coming to the office for a worthless visit, being kept waiting over a half-hour, and then having Marta finally come into the exam room in an irritated mood with no apology for being late, I immediately posed the question regarding whether he did the operation I needed---and whether he performed it in the manner that would not cause permanent damage to other bodily functions and/or anatomy. His response was that he DID NOT! And that if he did the surgery, the other problems I had asked about would likely occur. So there was absolutely NO EXAM!! My time with Marta lasted less than a minute or two. When I asked him why his staff had given me false information to get me to come to the office, even after I had relayed the precise condition and questions, he said, "the girls don't know what happens to patients during surgery!" After being lied to by Marta's office and wasting my valuable time, I told Marta prior to leaving that there must not be any charge to me or my insurance for the wasted visit--as again, there was absolutely no exam given nor purpose for my coming in. Marta stated that there would not be any charge, and I left. However, just as we had been lied to about everything else, Marta dummied the record to make it appear as though a routine exam had been performed---even though no such exam ever occurred, as noted--and falsely billed two insurance entities in my name, resulting in the fraudulent receipt of funds! When the false billing and payments were discovered and I called the office to seek their reversal, I was immediately insulted for calling and hung up on! Such horrible, dishonest treatment of the public is beyond disgraceful, let alone unethical and illegal. Shame on Dr. Marta!

We wanted to do everything possible to avoid that, so after a lot of research we learned about the Schroth Method and were so grateful to find Dr. James. Even though the office is about a 40-minute drive for us and we were nervous about committing to frequent visits, from the moment we walked in we felt completely at ease. The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, and Dr. James is truly exceptional.
