For my introductory class, I signed up for their Core Pilates. It was really difficult to sign up. I had a hard time getting in contact with anyone (it took about 4 attempts). But when I finally did, the sign up process was easy. They had a lot of classes to pick from, including Pilates, Barre and cardio classes. I didn't realize when I signed up that this was a reformer class. I usually do mat Pilates, but there were a few other beginners in the class and the teacher was very patient and nice. The great thing about the reformer machine is that you can turn up or turn down the intensity of the workout according to where you're at. It does take more coordination than I'm used to being on the machine, but it was fun! The teacher helped make adjustments so I could get the maximum benefit, which I appreciated. The Hackensack facility was really nice and big. They had complimentary lockers and towels and the changing room and restroom were both clean. The membership is kind of steep at $279 per month, but they do have discounts for 26 years old and under an 65 years old and over at their other locations.

We paid for the court time again this year (it's one night per week for 2 hours and we have 7 courts each week), and the club accepted that. They then suddenly, a couple of weeks into our season (which runs from September to May) told us that another client needed some of the courts on that night and that we had to give up those courts. This is AFTER agreeing to the usual arrangement AND taking our thousands of dollars. BEWARE making any agreements with an organization like this that treats its clientele so unprofessionally.

Music was energetic and kept me motivated. Instructor had good energy. The instructor was friendly and guided us through every exercise. There were about 10 people in the class. We started off in the room at the end of the studio where we did jumping jacks, running, lat pull downs, and other exercises. Once we finished that circuit, we moved into the room with the weights. We did a full body workout from squats to burpees. I was challenged and pushed to do my best which I always appreciate. He believes in all his students and definitely did not go easy on us!
