**READ BEFORE USING THIS DENTISTRY**…read more Extremely disappointed in my experience with Northwest Reno Smiles and would recommend every single person to turn away or get a second opinion before proceeding with any work from this office. Here's my story... With new insurance came the need for a new dentist. After an initial visit I was told that a routine cleaning would not suffice and was quoted a few thousand dollars for a deep cleaning/scaling. With some research, it was found that the pricing was higher than average but agreed to the procedure, trusting it was needed. After the cleaning was finished, it was recommended that I meet with the offices contracted Periodontist for a post cleaning consult which I was told was protocol after the deep clean. Within 5 minutes of the meeting the Periodontist told me that "due to the severity of my periodontist" I needed osseous surgery in 3 quadrants of my mouth and was given a quote near $20k before insurance. This was jarring. Not just the cost, but the severity of a bone graft surgery given I am in my 30s with no mouth/teeth pain. After requesting my X-rays and records I immediately went to a periodontal specialist for a second opinion. After meeting with the specialist, they found that not only is an osseous surgery completely unnecessary, but that I don't have any signs of periodontist. They also commented on the absolute unnecessary need for a deep cleaning/scaling. It's hard enough to find any person or corporation you can trust but take my advice and stay clear of Northwest Reno Smiles. Absolute scam.

Made the appointment and they did more scans (290) which is already annoying. Why not look at the scans I already paid for. The they gave me "the pitch" on cracked teeth. Then he said I shoul# get an extraction and implant which would not count the new tooth (4000+). I said I can't afford that and they pushed a credit card. I said let's just do an extraction and they said (2000). Why is an extraction more than a root canal? Because they are adding in bone grafts. I should have known not to trust a place in the mall. Now i am trying to make another reputable appointment with someone who actually cares about my health while I suffer with this abscess another week. Very unhappy.

She's so down to earth and just a talented person. You can find a binder in the waiting room full of pictures of her amazing work (she's a cosmetic dentist). Of all my 32 years of life, no other dentist pointed out that my teeth were wearing out due to teeth grinding while sleeping. She caught that problem and suggested a night guard. Thanks to her, I was able to do something and prevent further damage. Her office is clean and cozy, with great decor, magazines, free wifi and nice refreshments in the waiting room. You'll even find the restroom pleasant. Her staff is so nice, professional and efficient. The receptionist is always welcoming and has great knowledge of the practices and procedures of the office and always has been able to answer all of my questions in regards to fees and insurance. The hygienist always gives me feedback about my teeth and she's always thorough at cleaning. I haven't met one person I didn't like. I feel like they all care. Another plus is sometimes, when possible, Dr. Lubbers will adjust the prices of some procedures according to the work load to save you a couple of bucks.
