Dr. Van Dyke has kids of her own, and it shows in her practice. She put me and my son at ease right away. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. I feel totally comfortable asking questions about treatment and get educated answers not based on what's easy for them (general anesthesia), or what will make them the most money (putting crowns on baby teeth) like other practices seem to do. She took the time to talk to my son during his visits, not just to make sure the iPad and headphones were working, but to make sure he was comfortable and would let her know if anything bothered him. She let me know initially that if what we were doing didn't work, or made him uncomfortable, we would change course--but he did great, just like she thought he would! She even asked him after his first appointment (he needed 4 appointments total) what type of toy he would like to see in the toy box, and she went out and bought that item specifically for him before his next visit! You don't see that level of caring often enough these days. I don't even think my son realizes he's at the dentist!

Every single person in the office is lovely and caring. In terms of treatment, I feel that my treatment plan is always open and honest. I don't feel pressured into anything, but rather am explained their recommendations for care and a recommended timeline. Also, the tech is pretty cool! (The 3D tooth mapping is awesome lol). My father who is currently 84 years old just retired two years ago. Until the age of 82 he had not had one cavity. The same visit my father became a cash payer at his dentist, who he had had a long time history with, He coincidentally needed additional dental work on that visit and the following two. It was at that point I said "absolutely not, we will not be going back to see that dentist I will be finding you someone new to see." That is when I found Dr. Ziegele.
