WOW. Five Stars doesn't even begin to describe the service Patricia provided us at her beautiful…read morehome. We were in town for a wedding at Salt Air Farm (a 15 minute walk from her house). Patricia was so sweet to drive us to the wedding so we wouldn't have to walk (as we had taken the bus to town from Queens). She immediately made us feel like family; I felt like I was visiting my mom's home as she was content to sit and chat with us or leave us be while she cooked masterpieces in the kitchen. Patricia shines in the kitchen. Her extensive dining services background was evident from the extremely lavish breakfast she cooked for us, including a blueberry dutch baby, peach crumble, frittata, french bread and bacon. She had fresh fruit available as well along with fresh coffee and juice. I can honestly tell you that this is one of the best breakfasts I've EVER had. Patricia opens up the first floor of her house to all her guests. There are two guest rooms with a shared bathroom, a cozy living room, a bright, window-filled breakfast patio and a large backyard with plenty of comfortable places to read a magazine. The bedrooms are simple and relaxing. We stayed in the room to the right and the bed was so comfortable. The duvet is big and fluffy and there were more pillows than I could count on the bed for extra snuggling. There was a dresser, closet space, a small table, comfy chair and luggage rack for our use. She left chocolate on our pillows when we got back from the wedding which was so sweet, a simple gesture that shows she really goes the extra mile for her guests. Her home is walkable to nearby wineries, coffee shops and the few restaurants in Cutchogue. We walked to the beach (about 30-40 minutes) and then walked to the wineries (about 2 miles to the furthest winery from Patricia's home). The day was warm, so it was perfect for exploring on foot. I was truly sad to say goodbye to Patricia. My husband and I would absolutely make a trip back just to visit with her (and to finally meet her sweet pup, which she will board with her sister, if you'd prefer a dog-free experience). THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, Patricia, for a wonderful first visit to Cutchogue!!!

Amazing place to stay. Pat is an amazing host she makes you feel like your home. Very comfy place…read more We stayed at other B&B places and this tops it , close to Macari & McCall Vineyards.

I am happy to say that I have just returned from a weekend girl's retreat with my best friend here. We were so happy with everything they offered. Our vineyard one room was just breathtaking. The room was clean, spacious, rustic ,and beautiful. Waking up to see the vineyard every morning was delightful. Our bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on besides my own bed. The bed sheets were everything. I ended up asking where I could buy the sheets from haha. I loved that our room was next to the wine bar . The wine bar was self serve and on an honor system . So you could get wine whenever you wanted and pay for it at check out. I typically don't like red wines, but their dessert wine was so amazing that, I bought two bottles. I found it so cool that they had their own vineyard with their own wines. Breakfast every morning was five stars. Dave is not only an amazing host but also such an amazing cook. He made the most incredible meals with the freshest ingredients. He used coffee grinds around pork tenderloin with chutney and I was just blown away. This meal is what he referred to a cedar version on steak and eggs! I could get used to eating breakfast like that everyday. The potatoes hash was pure genius. Also Dave gave great suggestions for dinner and for places to go hiking. Genuinely the sweetest and coolest guy ever. I just loved this bed and breakfast so much. Everyone was so friendly. I loved the fire pit outside. I loved the Keurig and biscotti.I loved the common area with the pool table, books, games, popcorn, Netflix etc. I loved the well kept grounds, and the vineyard was so beautiful. Thank you cedar house for the most epic retreat ever . I feel so recharged. I needed a zen weekend and that's exactly what I got. I met pretty cool down to earth people. I ate five star breakfasts. I drank amazing wine. Also enjoyed great music at the fire pit. They really just thought of everything there. All the small details doesn't go unnoticed. I had one of the best weekends of my life here. I will absolutely be returning here . What a hidden gem. Cedar bed and breakfast is what I would refer to as magical place in the heart of the north fork .

The owners built their house as a B&B, so everything was new, yet personal. Each suite has it's own jacuzzi tub and fireplace, and feels private like a hotel, yet warm and inviting like a B&B should be. The Blue Iris is well kept and cared for, and their grounds ads are a nice walking distance to Bedells. The location also allows for an easy night out on the town, or to stay in and enjoy the rocking adirondack chairs around the beautiful fire pit. Lorry's style was top notch - everything was designed and picked out for very specific reasons. Our room was american themed. But The Blue Iris truly shined at breakfast time! We were welcomed with lemon squares, coffee and a raspberry yogurt served on gorgeous china. Goblets of water, and juice felt expensive and hearty. Lorry and Jerry joined our conversation, but were not overbearing. Didn't inject themselves into our time, but their opinions were a welcomed addition to our morning.

Blue Iris: A Serene & Enchanting Get Away…read more Lorry and her husband were wonderful hosts for my girlfriend and I. We came in from Manhattan searching for a quiet and relaxing get away and that's exactly what we got. Their house is absolutely beautiful and sits on a pristine piece of land, well-lit as you approach, and the gravel driveway reminiscent of an older long island but still very modern. Inside, the house is sublimely decorated with a classical piano selection playing in the background. The Rooms are upstairs, equipped with a fire place (turned on with the flick of a switch), a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a firm queen sized bed. Our room was charmingly decorated with rusted treasure chest keys hanging from the wall and a 1920's Country Wall Phone with a crank handle that actually turns. The rooms are as warm and inviting as they are comfortable and tranquil. The Blue Iris is truly an enchanting get away for anyone seeking to escape the stress and chaos of everyday life. Our host, Lorry, was absolutely delightful and as helpful as could be. As soon as we made our reservation with her, she recommended dinner/spa reservations (A Lure had the best peppercorn Tuna and the Blue Sage Spa had a very relaxing couples massage), and confirmed our reservation for us at A Lure when we arrived (as well as handing us a discount card to a majority of the wineries, restaurants, and spas in the area). Lorry was there for our every need and wasn't even phased when we accidentally broke her wine glasses (which she didn't charge us for)! Breakfast started with fruit cups, coffee, tea, corn bread, and finished with a egg bacon and vegetable souffle which was to die for. When we visited some of the wineries around town and we mentioned to the employees that we were staying at Lorry's they even made a note to tell us how wonderful her breakfasts are. While we visited in February, the Blue Iris is just a small 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the water/beach. I'd 100% recommend the Blue Iris to any and everyone and I look forward to staying there again!
