We felt welcome as soon as we walked up to the house and met Dave. He gave us a tour and showed us to our lovely (and large) room with a view of the vineyard. Dave and Donna have thought of anything you may need. There's a bar, 24-hr access to coffee, tea and water, board games, pool table, a mini indoor golf set, spacious outdoor seating to take in the beauty of the property or have a drink by one of the fire pits, even microwave popcorn! Patricia was so sweet to drive us to the wedding so we wouldn't have to walk (as we had taken the bus to town from Queens). She immediately made us feel like family; I felt like I was visiting my mom's home as she was content to sit and chat with us or leave us be while she cooked masterpieces in the kitchen. Patricia shines in the kitchen. Her extensive dining services background was evident from the extremely lavish breakfast she cooked for us, including a blueberry dutch baby, peach crumble, frittata, french bread and bacon. She had fresh fruit available as well along with fresh coffee and juice. I can honestly tell you that this is one of the best breakfasts I've EVER had. Patricia opens up the first floor of her house to all her guests. There are two guest rooms with a shared bathroom, a cozy living room, a bright, window-filled breakfast patio and a large backyard with plenty of comfortable places to read a magazine. The bedrooms are simple and relaxing. We stayed in the room to the right and the bed was so comfortable. The duvet is big and fluffy and there were more pillows than I could count on the bed for extra snuggling. There was a dresser, closet space, a small table, comfy chair and luggage rack for our use. She left chocolate on our pillows when we got back from the wedding which was so sweet, a simple gesture that shows she really goes the extra mile for her guests. Her home is walkable to nearby wineries, coffee shops and the few restaurants in Cutchogue. We walked to the beach (about 30-40 minutes) and then walked to the wineries (about 2 miles to the furthest winery from Patricia's home). The day was warm, so it was perfect for exploring on foot. I was truly sad to say goodbye to Patricia. My husband and I would absolutely make a trip back just to visit with her (and to finally meet her sweet pup, which she will board with her sister, if you'd prefer a dog-free experience). Our stay at the Farmhouse was everything you could hope for in a quiet B&B…read more Technically, there is only one room for now to rent out, so if you stay here, you will likely be the only people staying here. The place is just stunning. It's like coming home in a way, with a feeling of comfort and familiarity and is the best place to completely unwind, relax, and de-stress for a night or more. Just down the street is a convenience stoor that sells great microbrews for you to grab and bring back to the patio with a book. Breakfast the next morning was devine, made with local maple syrup and yogurt. The family that shares the duty of upkeep were all wonderful people and chatted with us unobtrusively (though we were happy to talk with them as they are lovely and interesting people). This is the perfect base for day hikes in the White Mountains. Plenty of awesome things to see and discover super close to here.

The owners, Dan and Alane, are gracious and warm, lovely and kind. As NYC transplants who have an appreciation for locals and visitors, they are informed about all things North Fork. They are wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcomed! The rates are competitive, but the stay is even more worthwhile than we had initially imagined. The Guest House is the epitome of a comfortable country home -- a beautiful dream, to say the least. I ran my hands along the different textural walls and refinished drawer chests. With modern yet rustic aesthetics, the house is bright and breezy and clean. Our queen-size bed is a cloud! We slept so well on both nights and woke up to wholesome and delicious country breakfasts each morning. It is the perfect stay for a weekend getaway. An Absolutely Exceptional Stay -- Silver Sands Is Something Special…read more My wife and I spent three days at Silver Sands celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, and although this was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the experience was exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. What impressed us most was how incredibly organized, attentive, and welcoming everyone was without ever being intrusive. It was almost as if the staff had mastered the art of being there exactly when you needed something, while somehow remaining nearly invisible the rest of the time. That level of service is very difficult to achieve, and Silver Sands does it beautifully. The property itself is immaculate. The grounds are meticulously maintained while still allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to remain part of the experience. The private beach was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully organized. Throughout the day, we would notice staff quietly moving through, straightening and maintaining everything, yet they were so unobtrusive you could barely tell it was happening. The attention to detail throughout Silver Sands is remarkable. From the design and atmosphere of the property to the pour-over coffee in the room, the thoughtfully selected shampoos and conditioners, linens, amenities, and overall cleanliness -- everything feels intentional. Our room was absolutely impeccable. Silver Sands somehow manages to capture the nostalgia and charm of the classic American motel while feeling modern, sophisticated, and luxurious at the same time. Calling it a "motel" almost doesn't do it justice. It is a truly unique property that can easily rival some of the best hotels and resorts we've stayed at. And then there are Eddie's and Nookie's! Both onsite restaurants were fantastic. The staff and service were wonderful, and everything we ate was top-notch. We left already talking about coming back so we can try more of the menu. Over our 31 years together, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful and far-off destinations. Yet there were moments during our stay at Silver Sands when we genuinely felt transported somewhere else entirely -- certainly not like we were still on Long Island, and at times not even like we were anywhere in the United States. It has a special atmosphere that is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself.
