We felt welcome as soon as we walked up to the house and met Dave. He gave us a tour and showed us to our lovely (and large) room with a view of the vineyard. Dave and Donna have thought of anything you may need. There's a bar, 24-hr access to coffee, tea and water, board games, pool table, a mini indoor golf set, spacious outdoor seating to take in the beauty of the property or have a drink by one of the fire pits, even microwave popcorn! Dave made us a fabulous breakfast each morning and was super friendly as he presented each dish and chatted with us. If you're considering checking this place out, DO IT!!! We will definitely be back to spend more time at this fantastic east end gem.

Lunch left a lot to be desired service wise. I have not been back since based on the experience I had there and, also based on their lack of response. It speaks for itself. Here is my email - Hi Leani - It's John O'Rourke again. Thank you for arranging and changing our lunch reservations for this past Monday. It's was a lovely location and a beautiful restaurant to return to. I have lived here for over twenty-five years now. My guests were so impressed by the respectful, well chosen, and stunning renovation. But, please allow me to mention some problems, as well as the previous compliments, that happened during our lunch. I believe feedback is important and can be productive. So for that purpose I send you these observations. - After we were seated and given menus - we waited at least 5 minutes before a waiter came to the table. - We were a party of four and, when two servers (not our waiter) put down our main courses - only two people in our party were served. We waited - thinking the other two orders would come out soon but, they didn't! Finally, we waved to our waiter who was not aware of the problem and, the entrees came out shortly after. - It's worth noting that none of the entrees served were presented in the 6 o'clock position where the plate is strategically placed in front of the diner. - Also, the wait staff never refilled our water glasses or asked if we would like another drink. Frankly, this is not the level of service I expected. And, if you would please pass my comments on to the proper person in the restaurant- I would appreciate that. I stayed at the Hedges Inn during the early spring for a bachelorette. We loved the accommodating staff members whom checked in with us frequently. The Inn is a brisk walk away from the relaxing beach. Staff provide you with passes. We had access to bikes for an enjoyable ride along the cobblestone and windmills. The room service was excellent and my bed was extra comfortable. My friends and I loved that breakfast was offered as a part of our stay. We couldn't locate many East Hampton locations which included this. The breakfast here was self-serve and delicious! Hands down I will visit The Hedges Inn next time I'm in the area. Thank you for making my stay super relaxing and memorable!

With just three guest rooms and plenty of space on the first floor and on the expansive deck, we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. And Donna was a wonderful, gracious host. She was very accommodating to our arrival and departure times, and offered thoughtful recommendations for restaurants and other things for us to enjoy. Hey, this is a B&B, not a weekend in army boot camp, okay? And while Donna is the most generous soul, you had better respect her and the time and effort she puts in to making you happy! The room is very comfortable and airy with windows on two walls, and quiet. The bed is very comfortable with nice feeling sheets resulting in a restful sleep both nights. The bathroom is well lit and has a walk in shower, with fantastic water pressure. The proprietor, Victoria, is exceedingly friendly as well as a wealth of information about the local area including where to eat. I found her descriptions and recommendations to be spot on. Breakfast is elegant. It is casual for the guest, but the table is nicely set and the food is freshly made and delectable. The weather was great during our stay so we got to enjoy a day at the beach. There are beach chairs and beach blankets available to borrow, as well as a parking pass for the Madison beaches. Victoria has really made it easy to enjoy Madison and makes you feel at home. I found everything to be in close proximity. The historical sites in Guilford are about 5 miles and the Madison beaches about 1 mile, and the on-ramp to I-95 is about 1 mile.
