There is also a great selection of burgers all the way from your classic cheeseburger down to a no-meat burger, each with its own unique toppings. I got the 'Merica Burger and didn't even have time to take a picture because I just scarfed it down. They have a great selection of sides too - chips, slaw, potato salad, or a glass of your favorite cider! We will definitely be coming back to the Cider House every time we are back in town. I recently made the mistake of going on a Friday night at 7pm. They were busy and there were about 10 people ahead of us in the line. It took 30+ minutes to reach the order window, at which time we were informed it was an hour and a half wait to get our food. Why couldn't a manager or a staff member inform the people standing patiently (as the line was steadily growing) of the wait time before we got to the window? Then you come to the top of the hill and are welcomed by this round brick island planter in the middle of your path and there is a little moral dilemma on which way to drive. I check in, the staff are kind and helpful. I ask about what doors to come in after dark and was informed they are all unlocked. This with the decaying landscaping, lack of lighting in the parking lot, only two other cars and a mysterious semi don't make me feel at ease traveling alone. I come into the building and my room, nothing special, nothing unique. There was an office chair that looked like it came from Walmart with the fake leather worn off of it. It was nice to find a little refrigerator and microwave in the room. It wasn't listed as an amenity on their website so I just ate moon pies for three days. Ha! Breakfast was a premade coffee machine, two bananas with sugar spot, milk and the choice of fruity pebbles or fruit loops. I passed on all, at least hoping for a glass of some juice to get me kick started in the am. My room smelled like an old motel so I picked up a glade air freshener and placed it by the bed. It helped me forget where I was for at least a moment. The bed was okay. A few things that gave me a little ick was the door lock held by wiring and what looks like a pee stain on the side of the spring cover. It reminded me of that boyfriend of your college roommate who drank too much and he peed in the corner. (I didn't notice this till the last night and kept telling myself it was a spilled soda). If I were traveling with a partner I might feel a bit safer but I wouldn't return.
