He was there a little over 2 weeks. In that time fell out of bed 3x's 2 trips by ambulance in less than 72 hrs to ER I went to visit this past Week and walked in to his Foley Catheter full of urine next to the chair his granddaughter was in. When I confronted Shift Nursing supervisor about why, " I'll make a note in the log and we'll have a retrain!!"So called wound nurse visited on Tuesday to treat the wound. He was released on Thursday afternoon and taken by ambulance Thursday night due to the infection had him in agonizing pain. Friday am after 14 hrs in ER it was determined hospice would be the option due to the severity of the infection and not being a surgical candidate. I wouldn't recommend having a band aid changed here.

By far Exeter was the more organized, comfortable rehabilitation facility I stayed in. PT and OT were exceptional. Nursing staff much more caring than the other larger facilities. So I guess they figure either it simply go away or she can just die. I'm so angry my next calls are to the media and the state Attorney General's office.

She's young but her body is a prison because of multiple sclerosis. Even with 40 hours of at-home nursing care a week, we couldn't do it anymore. She has no strength at all, and we had to do everything for her, everything. It was time. She was distressed, in grief, heartbroken. And it was hard. But the people here made her feel pretty good. She saw that it wasn't a prison. She had the freedom to go where she wanted in her electric wheelchair. She spent her first night in the family room watching her favorite Red Sox on a big screen! Everyone was so nice here. Just stellar. They understood. It will take some time, but I think she'll be happy. This really is a great place. It's clean and large and there is so much to do! I am a physician so I think I have a pretty good sense of quality. Both us us were impressed with the kindness of the entire staff. Everyone was so attentive and universally highly professional. Special shout out to Barbara, my dad's physical therapist, who was absolutely amazing. So smart, kind, encouraging, and knowledgeable. She was terrific. Leah, and her assistant Allie, were wonderful occupational therapists who patiently worked with my dad to learn how to safely negotiate activities of daily living during recovery. We were also very happy with his single room, the quality of the food, the admission process, and best ever, unlimited visiting hours, and dog visitors allowed!
