Jake only does walk-ins so I went in for a nasal piercing that I had been contemplating for about 10 years. He was very professional and good at putting me at ease, and the process was over in about 10 minutes (good thing because any longer and I might have run :-)). His shop is very clean and he uses a sterile set-up, which also pleased me. Jake was very informative about after-care and I have since healed with no complications. Highly recommend! read more

Visiting from Austin. I have a week old nose piecing and somehow the screw came out of the stud. Can't say I wasn't a bit freaked out and worried the stud would follow. Using Yelp as I do for most everything, I found North Cove Piercing Studio, 157 5 star reviews. I messaged the studio and Jacob responded almost immediately, saying he could help me out. Jacob is so knowledgeable and gentle. He has a decade of experience. He explained everything as he went. Put in a shorter stud after cleaning well. We had a great conversation. He wanted just to charge 5 bucks! I wasn't having that. So if you are fortunate enough to live in the Tacoma area, Jacob is your man. I was extremely impressed. read more

Cash only! Excellent quality for a very reasonable price! I got a single piercing, it was my first piercing since my earlobes closed as a kid. I felt comfortable, and as a woman I felt safe. He's friendly, talkative but in a good way. I also got a free follow-up two weeks later, and I'm going back in two months to make sure everything is healed nicely. I've always hated my nose but I always loved nose piercings. In the spirit of loving myself I went ahead and decided to get my nose pierced- f the haters (turns out the biggest hater is usually me and I'm done with that mess). I picked the place using yelp reviews and Jake did not disappoint. Tucked in a tiny tiny strip mall I found his shop and walked in. I was the only customer at that point. Everything was clean and Jake himself was easy to talk to. I was a bit nervous but it was not a big deal. Aside from loving my piercing I also really enjoyed talking with Jake. He did great with all the COVID cleaning too. I wish I could say I would be back but I was on a solo road trip and had to head back to CA. I recommend anyone else in town to def get their piercings done here. read more

Dudes a great guy and is super great about remembering customers and helping them out but i have an issue with the size of the jewelry he uses. almost all my piercings i get here i have to go back to change out the size to a longer one because he puts jewelry that's squeezes my ear and infects the piercings. I would prefer to have jewelry that's fits my ear properly so i don't end up with a bunch of unnecessary pain. read more

With a perfect five-star rating, I had high expectations for this shop. And man oh man did they deliver. I came here to get my ears pierced for the first time. When I first entered, I was greeted right away and told how long my approximate wait time was by Jake. I spent most of my time waiting (not too long) by looking over the many piercings he has to offer. My experience could not have gone better. I was very nervous at first, since I've never been pierced before. But Jake was really fun and easy to talk to, and really put me at ease. He did a great job, too! Very clean, thorough, and careful. Once he was finished, he gave me a run down on how I should clean my ears and how often I should do so, answered the questions I had, as well as provided me with a couple of cleaning solutions. Paid $60 (before tip) for a pair of earrings, which I believe is a great price. Highly recommended! read more

5 star rating well deserved. Decided to come back after accompanying my brother for his ear piercings and loved how professional Jake was with him. I came in on a Saturday evening and had to wait outside since there were already people in the lobby due to COVID restrictions. I didn't have to wait too long at all until talking with Jake with what I wanted and signed a form. His entire shop is very clean! Took me to the back, and believe me when I say Jake is such an easy guy to talk to. Super professional with what he does but makes the nervousness go away. I can come back for him to help me change my piercing what it's healed a bit more for no extra charge. I'll definitely be back for that, and some more piercings! read more

Jake is the best! I got both my nips pierced and I was so anxious and nervous about the pain. Both piercings were $100 and included the jewelry. Jake was so personable that I was distracted enough by good conversation. I felt very comfortable the entire time and the piercings were quick and as painless as possible. I was also given a paper that outlined the aftercare of my piercings. 10/10 recommend going to get pierced by Jake. If I ever want another piercing, I will 1000% be returning here. read more

After reviewing the comments regarding the North Cove Piercing my fiancé, son and I decided to check it out. I went in to get my nose pierced. In summary, our overall experience surpassed the 5 star comments we researched on Yelp. Immediately there was a line at the door 5 minutes before the place opens. When it was my turn, Jack was welcoming and made you feel comfortable with the process. Kept an upbeat conversation with us and didn't mind my curious 2 yr old as he walked around the room. Jack is what makes this place great. He provides a detailed breakdown on how to care for your piercing after you leave, provides you with the soap and welcomes you to come back for any further questions. Liquid Dial gold works pretty well, but some folks say it can dry out skin a bit. I’ve found that Dr. Bronner’s unscented baby soap works for just about everybody.

He was rigid, aggressive, and belittled both me and my teenage daughter during our piercing session today. There are a lot of rules at this place. I am sure he has his reasons for them but some seem odd. We were told to back in to a certain space in his lot and wait to be waved in. Ok, fine. Then when walking in we were told not once but twice to wipe our feet. Ok, fine. As soon as we walked into the lobby, we were told to sit in specific chairs, twice, ok fine. He then began spewing out a ton of information. We tried to take it all in. He then asked my daughter if she wanted posts or hoops for her double piercing. She said posts for now but would be wearing hoops later after sports season. I then gave him the gift certificate I had purchased for my daughter to use for this session. He immediately said in an irritated and condescending voice, "did I not tell you to let me know when making an appointment to tell me if you were using a gift certificate"? I told him he had not and he said, "well, now I have to change things!" I have no idea what that change would be but I have never been told by any business that I have to tell them ahead of time I am using a gift certificate. Ok, fine. We then get called back to the piercing area. He told my daughter that he was going to mark her ears where he would pierce them and she could tell him if she wanted them moved. He placed the marks higher than she liked and politely told them so. He immediately became outwardly irritated with her. She said she would like to wear hoops in the second hole (meaning eventually as stated in the lobby) and he aggressively said, "well, why didn't you tell me that in the lobby when I asked!?". My daughter is 15. He kept belittling her, for no reason, so I stepped in and said, "this is her first time getting double piercings" hoping this would make him realize he was being unkind in his communication with her. He then remarked her ears. At this point had I not already purchased a gift certificate for her for Christmas, we would have left the business. He then pierced her ears and placed them very well. He used great sanitary procedures and explained them all VERY extensively. When we thought he was done as he was wiping down the countertop, we stood up, very ready to leave. He then told my daughter to sit back down, twice, so she could watch him clean the countertop. He asked her if she had any questions but at this time, we were both so nervous to ask him anything, that we stayed silent. He then tried to make small talk with us but we were done. He knows his craft. He is sanitary but his customer service absolutely sucks. He may have pierced people 1000 times in his career but this was a new experience for my daughter. He acts as if everyone should know exactly what he is talking about instead of offering customer service. I don't need my ass kissed but basic pleasantries and not being talked down to would be nice. I have gotten three piercings from this shop before although I haven't returned in over a year none…read moreof the same people are still there that I trusted but assumed that the quality of the jewelry used would stay the same as I've never had a reaction before . i went to go back to get my septum piercing unfortunately the next day I had developed allergic reaction such as my face turning red in spots my face was extremely swollen and many more gross symptoms . I was not briefed on aftercare nor did she tell me what gauge was in my nose and what kind of metal she used . That's the least you can do as a piercer... and the energy in the shop was very off . I trusted this Shop for many years and after returning after a year I will never go back again and I hope customers along the line don't experience what i am going through . please ask questions before getting body modifications!
