I have been following Tacomas best for 5 years. I would recommend this place to anyone for reputable jewelry and piercers. I made an appointment about a month ago with Fezzie for a septum piercing. They are a 10/10. Fezzie walked me through every step, made me feel extremely comfortable and confident in my choice. Septum was definitely 1/10 pain and was easy healing. Fezzie was so amazing I decided to book a double nostril piercing with them today. Again 10/10. Would highly recommend them to anyone. I went with a high nostrils as my choice. I would have to admit high nostrils are a 8/10 pain wise. Loved their encouragement the whole process and will continue to see Fezzie as a safe body piercer for any of my future piercings. Have to give a huge shout out to Karlei for helping my pick my high nostrils and a swap for my old hoop. Upping to 5 stars- I am no expert when it comes to piercing- I had my ears pierced a few months before Covid for the first time and got some uncomfortable butterfly back studs that eventually damaged my piercing and broke - I couldn't be bothered to get it fixed so I let the holes heal up. Fast forward and my friend talks me into giving it another go and recommends I go to a dedicated piercing store (I previously went to a tattoo parlor elsewhere) thats APP certified. Owning a business is hard- in my last review I critiqued that my appointments always started late because they didn't allot time between appointments to clean and so the piercers were perpetually behind because they do not cut corners on cleanliness. This has improved a ton and the last time I was here they were on schedule. The front staff that helped with selecting jewelry were also fantastic. I got my double ear lobe piercings by Mitch and more recently came back to get my helix pierced. The piercers here are all amazing (& I love that this business is so diverse and inclusive). My helix was pierced by Fezzie and they did such a good job. I love the threadless system for jewelry minus the loss of one of my tops due to a wig that tangled in it and got it loose - I pushed it back in but alas by the end of the night it was MIA. Great selection of jewelry here- the prices are pretty high but you're getting quality hypoallergenic pieces that will last forever granted you don't lose them. I am reluctant to write this review as I'm sure many will blame the aftercare on my part. Yet from my perspective I followed the aftercare that was explained. Sadly, my nose piercing only lasted two days. My initial experience at TBP was lovely. I booked the incorrect time slot and Jessica fit me in with Bunny. Bunny was very kind and explained to me the process of getting my nostril pierced. I was nervous, especially being older than many of the teens in the waiting room. I asked about blowing my nose and Bunny showed me how to do it. Piercing hurt less than expected and I was thrilled when I left. First day home I was swollen and cleaned as instructed. I blew my nose as Bunny showed me and my nose swelled and began to bleed a lot. I cleaned with the saline and water in the shower... nothing would budge the blood that crusted. You could not even see my jewelry with the blood crust and swelling. I booked a trouble shoot appointment the next day. Jessica was the person whom my troubleshoot appointment was with. I felt she did not handle the situation well and I am unhappy with my experience. She was very defensive about how she had never seen something this bad before and kept explaining her situation. I told her I was scared and didn't know what to do, she froze a lot and looked frightened of my situation which exacerbated my upset. I kept asking her what I should do and she was evasive. We decided to take it out in hopes to clean the piercing and put it back in... all of this hurt excessively and I was crying a lot. She again was defensive in an attempt to not be blamed and I felt hurt at her lack of compassion for my pain and sadness that the piercing wasn't working. She put a wood plug in while attempting to clean my jewelry and my god that hurt. I kept bleeding and it was getting everywhere and Jessica just kept saying this has never happened before over and over... rather than comfort the person bleeding and in a lot of pain. I'm in my 40s, I have birthed two children and that pain was up there. I was crying and crying and told her to just leave it out and I left in silence. She didn't say anything to me, she did not comfort me, she was stoic and rather mean from my perspective. I thought she would say sorry, or tell me I could pierce it again sometime. She acted more scared she would be blamed rather than my pain or sadness. I wasted $200 and felt a lot of pain. Wish I had gone somewhere else or had a different person for my troubleshoot appointment, curious if I would still have my piercing if I had someone else... without the intense pain. read more

I had an appointment for 12:25 I came in 15 or so prior to check in and do any needed waivers. I did not even get to check out jewelry until 30 after. Once it got to 50 after I asked if there was a timeline for when I when get seen, the person up front said they were running late and asked "why, do you have some place to be" it felt aggressive in tone but I could be wrong the question itself just felt inappropriate due to their scheduling issues being the problem not my attendance. After the artist Rachel finally finished with the client they were late with the artist proceeded to have some serious coughing fits that lasted another 10/15 minutes and at that point I requested my appointment be canceled due to their wait time and lack of health standards. Previously I had canceled my reservation to reschedule at this time because I was sick and wanted to respect their space and that it could effect my healing and I wish they had the decency to do the same. I've been here for a couple of different pieces over the years and always love the vibes. The piercings I've gotten were re-pierces so the explanation of more pain because of scar tissue was going to happen. I've worked with Jessica for my work (I think every time) she always incredibly patient and when she's calm it calms me down. From a 4 star to a 2 star. I was so excited to write my review after my piercing It wasn't a 5 because of the initial customer service- they were curt and very indifferent. But the artist themselves were wonderful she was amazing and so helpful. I got my ears pierced- initially went be a use I thought mine had closed- ended up they had not so decide to just get a second- earrings for all 4 as wanted to ensure stayed open and they did run a needle thru to make sure- total was 300$ Despite the amazing artist there is nothing they do here that you can't get elsewhere. Now the down grade in rating has come because my earning came out- don't know if it broke it looked like it snapped but it fell out- I texted asking to get it checked and replaced but also in response to the email saying it was time to get a smaller post. The text message I received (attached) stated I could just "swing by" there was no mention of appointment needed or being booked and as I thought this would just be a simple process and was already headed north I detoured and was able to arrive within 5-10min of the text. Only to be told I would have to come back on 2 hours when they could fit me in and pay a 10$ fee. I booked it as really didn't have much choice as pretty sure the earring broke and I didn't pay 300$ to have to get re- pierced. And replied to the text that in future advise to set appointment and not swing in- as you can see in the text thread they let me know that I should never trust what their employees say and always consult their website. That despite what the TEXT (employee) stated that I should go to the website and follow that- so BE WARNED EMPLOYEES CAN SAY WHATEVER THEY WANT ALWAYS CHECK THE WEBSITE IF ITS NOT THERE THEN ITS NOT FACTS. I set the appointment and had my time severely wasted when I could have simply called made the appointment and then come in- if they had simply said hey give us a call so we can set an appointment or event just said we take walk ins but an appointment really is needed- nope they made it seem like no big deal just "swing on by" and we will get you sorted. And the "apology" was really a- yeah we lied but you should read our website not believe what we say! Sorry though... What an amazing experience! Walked in early in the morning to request an apt. They were able to squeeze me into the last spot of the day. Nose piercing with titanium jewelry was approx $110. They do take a $40 deposit to hold your spot. Staff was extremely friendly and informative! Fezzes was so professional but light hearted, she made my experience a great one! I scheduled an appointment to have my two tragus piercings re-pierced (assuming they have closed after not wearing jewelry for years) and to my surprise did not require to be pierced again! Mitch explained that they were indeed still open and only needed to be slightly stretched with a taper to fit jewelry again! He explained the whole process step by step what he was doing, what every sound was, and sensation/pressure I'd feel as he's working. Both the nostril and mid-helix swelled well beyond the size of the jewelry they put in. And of course they use threadless jewelry so it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to remove yourself. Needless to say, I had to go have both piercings removed, and my cartilage is now in pretty bad shape. Both places I went to have them each removed told me the jewelry they put in was way too tight. Covid update -They are open during covid for appointments only. My husband and I recently were inquiring about getting our daughters ears pierced and believe it or not this was the only place I could find close by that did infant piercings. I had contacted this establishment via yelp and was told to email them to schedule an appointment which was easy. They had me read their disclaimers before continuing which I appreciated because though they do not recommend infant piercings they'll do them but want to make sure the parents are ok with everything. Now when it came time to do the piercings they only schedule you an hour before/ opening of hour after/ closing and you have to come prepared with birth certificate and ID per their website and Jessica told me in email as well. I was able to come in within a week of contacting this place. Everything was extremely sterile and clean which put me to ease. After I did all the paperwork, I picked out my daughters earrings ( Jessica also went over pricing with me to make sure it was ok before continuing) I then had to wait a few minutes for her to get everything cleaned and ready before bringing us back. This shop uses needles and not piercing guns and if you do your research on them they're actually a lot safer. Now I did have to hold my daughters head down which I hated and felt so bad about and she cried but as soon as it was done she was ok. And now she has beautiful earrings. Jessica then went over with me how to care for them and keep them clean. In all it took 30-40 minutes from start to finish and was a pretty easy process. Think twice before getting your infant pierced here or at all. I decided to do it and left with an enormous amount of guilt that I put my baby thru that. Jessica the owner was our piercer and everything seemed like it had gone well until the second piercing. I examined the it and noticed it was sunken into her skin into the front lobe instead of lying flat. And I asked her about it and her answer was that she bled a little bit, which wasn't an explanation really as to why it would be like that nor did she bother to check. My bby was not settling as fast as with the first one so I examined the back and sure enough it was pierced where the ear meets the face and not on the lobe at all! I told her this and she looked and said it was to the side a little bit and I immediately corrected her that it was not a "little" and it was practically piercing her face. I did not appreciate her dismissing my initial concern with it not being flat and her minimizing the colossal fuck up! I did not know what to do whether to let her try again or what. I had to restrain my rage and not lash out on this woman who I thought was a professional. I was prob better off going to Claire's honestly. But I didn't want to do it with a gun. We ended up trying again and although it still sideways compared to the other ear, it wasn't on her face. She did not charge us for the piercing which was the least she could do but frankly she should have compensated our baby for having done that to her. read more

I had my second piercing ear lobes and one rook piercing today, and could not be happier. I had the pleasure of having two different piercers. Kaylen did my rook. She was very thorough in explaining the procedure, what I would be feeling, and did the piercing quick and smoothly. There's a lot of pressure involved, but was totally prepared for that and the warmth per Kaylen Fezzie did my lobes. She was fantastic, as well as thorough and friendly. She explained everything in full while sterilizing, and then each step as she went along with the piercings. She was very calm and nurturing, which made it incredibly painless and comforting. The shop is very very very clean. Each piercer has their own boutique with sterilizing equipment, so no cross contamination or shared space. Also the shop has some BEAUTIFUL jewelry, not just plain round balls in gold or silver like back in the day. The staff is very welcoming and thorough, and take care in making sure your desired piercing will actually work with your anatomy (giving you the highest chance for a successful piercing.) I was referred by a friend, and she warned me that they are pricey but good! I went in as customer who was already pierced, but my 6 day old out of town piercing needed some TLC! My first impression was I didn't really feel welcomed, and that I was basically in a jewelry store, but everything was neat and clean. I brought in 4 different 18K gold earrings specifically for piercings and was told they don't install outside jewelry because of quality. So I purchased a NEW piece and even bought an extra piece for an older piercing. John was great, he changed out my trouble earring and replaced it with the new one and even placed the 2nd piece of purchased jewelry. Although he didn't clean up my piercing site after swapping the jewelry my experience with him was good. My issue was with the lack of communication for pricing. I was told a price for the jewelry, but my receipt had a separate charge for the " back " of the jewelry, and as a customer if you see a charge for something unexpected you ask questions. Although I wasn't overcharged for anything it would be HELPFUL to COMMUNICATE that the top and back pieces of jewelry are priced together but charged separately on the receipt. Overall I won't be visiting TBP in the future, the jewelry is beautiful and my experience with John was good, but the lack of communication, and unwelcoming attitude from the front staff made the experience very disappointing. read more

more like Tacoma's WORST piercing. i came here for a few ear piercings and took care of them well in the following days, but ended up with a massively swollen ear, nasty infection, and lost my hearing in my right ear. I ended up at urgent care, where the doctor confirmed a bacterial infection and put me on antibiotics to get rid of it. don't come here unless you are looking to waste money and end up with a serious infection. read more
