This review is for the teen summer camp only-…read more First off, there is no easy way to contact this facility. The phone number is always a busy signal, go in person and the staff is not in office and emails are extremely slow to respond (or not at all). The facility is beautiful with art, music, games and sports...kid paradise right? But it's Lord Of The Flies with the younger kids running around trying to break the games while my son in the "teen" group (11 year olds) was cordoned off in one room for hours at a time. This one room consisted of a TV playing a random movie and 4 board games (half incomplete), and 2 out of 4 broken computers. Field trips sound fun but there's no effort in putting friends in groups together. This is the whole reason parents sign up buddies in camp together! My son and his one buddy asked staff multiple times to be grouped together and were denied. This club is more focused on bringing in volume of campers vs providing quality care. Look elsewhere for summer camp options.

I had always heard great things about the Boys and Girls Club and was excited to have my children…read moreattend the Bressi Ranch location'a summer camp. My family will not be returning. Overall I found this camp to be incredibly disorganized, completely unstructured and the staff, including leadership, to either be completely overwhelmed or incompetent. Details: From the beginning communication was a huge challenge. Staff were unresponsive during registration, it would be difficult to get in touch with anyone. Despite this initial frustration, I gave the organization the benefit of the doubt and enrolled my kids. My children were absolutely miserable at the camp. If your child isn't super loud and pushy then it can be an intimidating place to be. It seemed as though the focus is on quantity over quality and there were so many children, my kids often had difficulty being able to participate in activities they wanted. I am not sure what the camper to counselor ratio is but I think there is room a lot of room for improvement. It is important to note that the camp offers kids time to watch tv and play video games. While staff assured me that the screen time was "limited" given that they told me "they have so many kids and cannot keep track of what kids are doing" I am highly doubtful that screen time limitations is true. I did email 3 staff members during the middle of the camp week to see if they would provide some additional support or guidance for my kids since they were overwhelmed with the camp and received absolutely no response. I emailed the COO and CEO about a number of issues and received a timely response, however, I indicated that I did not want my child to go for the second week. Rather than canceling my payment I was still charged. I emailed the leadership to let them know I was incorrectly charged and received absolutely no response despite an additional follow up email. I have doubts based on the lack of organization of staff about this facility being a positive place for any child. This may not be a reflection of all Boys and Girls Clubs but I think is definitely there is a high need for improvement at this location. I question how much "support" and "guidance" this organization actually provides for a child despite this being part of their mission. My family will never return.

They were very accommodating after I explained my experience. I appreciate when an owner cares and especially from parent to parent, can relate and adjust. We will try it out again in the future! PREVIOUS REVIEW: After being inundated with emails about how flexible they are about camps, I booked a few days thinking that in the worst case (since you can book the night before) that I could just cancel if my kids didn't love it. Overall, my kids did OK, but I could tell it wasn't something they could do for more than 1 day. I opted to not proceed with the camp, but was told there was nothing they could do for me to give me a refund. I can understand if you need to manage staffing, but if you're allowing people to book the night before, clearly its not a staffing issue, you're just unwilling to give parents their money back. I wouldn't recommend booking more than 1 day at a time.

Then with help from all the coaches, developed the ability to move on to a boys competition team at their Carlsbad location. Coaches Christina, Lindsay, Brittany, Stephen, Mark and Scott all played a role in his progress! You will generally see the same coaches, and get to know them, so that tells you something about this location. Also offers, ninja classes, tumbling, after school programs, summer and holiday camps. On Friday nights they offer Kids Nights Out and Kids Day Out on Saturday afternoons. It's a great option to get a few hours kid free. It include pizza and the kids will expend their energy as they are kept active, jumping on the bungies, trampolines etc. It's a win win! Staff are flexible, responsive and super helpful!

We get funded through San Diego Regional Center and she was really great in accommodating our request and even offered an additional week of Spring Break camp because our school district had a different timeline than the other coastal schools. Coach Brooks and Coach Zora introduced our kid to lots of fun activities such as building forts, tide pooling, building and flying kites, hiking the slot at Annie's Canyon, and even encountering rattlesnakes. This was such a great outdoor activity for our kid in a safe and supportive environment. Being an only child, his exposure to interacting with multi-aged kids has been a tremendous experience. Thank you, Coastal Kiddos, for helping us build one of our child's best core memories!

We worked with NCSA on our sons' combined birthday party. We were looking for a "Sports Themed"…read moreparty for our sons turning 5 and 7. I found NCSA online and reached out to Paul to see what hosting a party with him and his team would look like. I didn't know where to start besides offering up if he had any ideas for kids birthday parties. The whole process of planning the party with Paul was seamless. He was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the entire planning process and was flexible with me when more and more kids were RSVPing yes to the party! He ended up securing three coaches including himself to oversee the wiffle ball, soccer and basketball stations. We had 30 kids at the party and all the kids had a blast! We received really positive feedback from the parents on how well organized and unique the party was to have the coaches there teaching the kids new skills while playing games and scrimmages. I would 100% recommend working with Paul and his team for future birthdays and will definitely sign up for the camps NCSA offers during the summer break!

His mother comes from work and is almost always there by the time the session starts. KidStrong is perfect for him. He loves it, his parents love it, I love it, and he benefits from it in many ways. I don't actually know how much it costs, but I hope that he can keep it up for a long time. The coaches are very good with kids. The agenda for each 45-minute session is on a big TV/computer in the exercise area, and the coaches are good about following it. A few weeks ago I watched one of the coaches do more chin-ups than I could count--easily 50--while he was waiting for the class to start. He didn't act or talk like a superstar and didn't look muscular (hard to tell under their black "Coach" sweatshirts. My grandson saw most of it, and was thoughtful about it.
