He curates a welcoming and relaxing environment and doesn't fail to keep his hand relatively light and the experience short. It's all your own preference, but I never feel as though I am alone through the process, he has the ability to make conversation with a wall or just be the wall. I have first-hand seen him interact with unexpected costumers and been touched by how he can kindly answer questions that might seem obvious to others. I can't wait to work with him again. I just got a tattoo done today, but have added a picture of a memorial tattoo that he did for me a couple years back.

On top of all that, their prices are super reasonable. Getting inked can be super nerve wracking, particularly if it's your first time. I can't imagine a better studio than Tsunami to put you at ease. Seriously I can't recommend them highly enough.

The shop is a small, and warm space both comfortable as well as clean and friendly. We had called with a very vague idea of what we wanted and within a matter of hours they had something drawn up that was better than any of us expected. We were all getting matching tattoos and not one of us had a single change to make to the drawing. It was exactly what we wanted but couldn't quite put into words, but these guys managed to sketch it out and it was spot on. The shop owner was really nice as was the other artist (Brad) who did my tattoo. Both worked fast and diligently with the friendly banter you'd expect from a barber shop. Brad, who tattooed me, had a light hand and did a great job with the colors. Start to finish the whole experience was exactly what you want in a tattoo shop. The prices are more than fair, the work is outstanding, the shop looks great, the artists are honest and dedicated. If there were 6 stars they would get them. If you are looking to get tattooed and you live anywhere near this place do yourself a favor and check them out. Myself and my friends who got tattooed there are thrilled and everything about this shop soared above our expectations.

We got in contact with their artist Laura, they have several that you can choose from. Their website provides their bios. I had some health issues arise that saw me having to reschedule three times. Laura was kind and patient with me, THANK YOU LAURA We arrived early and got a front parking spot! Easy to read signage on building and their hours are listed on the door. We filled out the required paperwork and off we went. Decor is eclectic with some taxidermy, Tarot cards, richly colored Asian themed art, live plants, and other artwork. Space is clean and Laura was thorough in making sure all items were sterile and ready for me. The art was an original my son designed, she took and added some small details of her own. Chose a place on my leg for the work and son chose his side. It took approximately an hour for each of us. We LOVE the work she did with depth of lines and creativity with shading. Highly recommend this place and think Laura was easy to work with and respectful of our vision. Thank you Laura.

My experience: I have had multiple piercings done by Caleb my conch and both nipples. I honestly couldn't be happier the advice he gave for healing and aftercare. He was thorough and the shop had a premade card to go home, it included all post care instructions. My nipple piercings are perfectly straight and the bar selection was spot on. He was extremely professional and kind and made me feel comfortable during the entire process. (To add some context, I had one inverted nipple that he was able to still pierce and it honestly solved that issue forever. He mentioned generally he wont do nipple piercings on inverted nipples but if its not severe it may still be possible. Get a consultation if your concerned.) My conch was done with a hoop which I switched to a labret to heal and now that its healed I put a clicker ring in. The environment was clean the materials used were top notch and sterile. There was privacy when needed. Props to them for doing it all with passion for the art. Planning to go back to him for a few more piercings very soon. I'm so happy that 'lo those many years ago the legendary Phuc Tran suggested I check out the…read moreequally legendary Chris Dingwell. The original reason I had sought PT out was that I had a tattoo that was only half finished and overly packed with gray ink when it was supposed to be in color. PT told me that the best person in Maine to fix it up and get it to where I wanted it to be was Dingwell. Dingwell and I met, and it was love right away (on my end anyway). Not only did he breathe new life into my tattoo, he made suggestions (and eventually changes to it when I realized he was soooooooooo right about those suggestions) that were both perfect for my individual body, and the shape, location, and sentiment of the tattoo itself. I wouldn't see anyone but Chris now. He's repaired tattoos, he's touched-up tattoos, he's done elaborate designs (we created together), he's done simpler designs (I brought in and he approved of), he's worked with me and never against me, and I feel like I have stunning, unique pieces that speak to my soul and tell my life story. I am proud to boast of his work when people ask me about my ink. His new location, Squirrel Cage Studios, is great. It's clean, spacious, welcoming, comfortable, brightly lit, and there's plenty of off-street parking (because who wants to get up halfway through their session to move their car?). Though Chris' personal work has a very specific look and falls under a very specific genre, he's a heck of an artist and really does always have his clients best intentions at heart.
