Owner Ken Schubert worked creatively with us and our design, streamlining materials and construction methods to capture the look we wanted at a price we felt good about. He took extra care in construction, picture-framing the decking, a detail I wish I'd thought to ask for and was overjoyed that he included. From inspiration photo to finished product, Iron Castle turned our lackluster, sagging brick porch into a wide, welcoming, beautiful entry. We're excited to tackle future projects together and recommend Iron Castle to everyone we know.

I honestly feel a bit bad leaving a 3-star review here because everyone I interacted with at Iron…read moreCastle Construction was genuinely kind, respectful, and responsible. On top of that, the quality of their work is fantastic. Among other great things about their work, they did a beautiful job matching the existing wood molding in our home with the new construction they did on our bathroom. Price-wise, they were right in the middle of the road compared to the other estimates I received. Where things fell short for me was communication. I know contractor-client dynamics can be tricky, but as the project progressed, it became increasingly unclear what the actual timeline or next steps were. The project ran longer than the original estimate, and I was never given updated, reliable estimates for completion. (Part of this was due to scheduling inspectors which had nothing to do with Iron Castle, but even factoring in the inspection wait time, the project went beyond the initial estimate.) Toward the end, communication broke down and workers would show up on days without prior notice, even after I explicitly asked to be kept in the loop on scheduling. That was stressful because we had our work to take care of. Big picture: Iron Castle does high-quality, beautiful work, and they are good people. But while I love the finished product, the process of getting there was not what I would have expected.

He showed up on time and was very communicative with quotes and pricing which was a good sign of how the rest of the job would go. They were very thorough and even power washed the roof and cleaned the ivy off of the chimney before they began prepping for paint on the exterior. I also appreciated how accommodating they were when I had a few extra add ons to the job and they took care of things without hesitation. The whole process was great and we were sad to see them go at the end of the job. I wish I had 10 more houses for them to paint.

It has been the easiest, most amazing experience. I dont have a history of knowing exactly what i what or what to expect from someone who is there to help me coean my home. I had never hired anyone before. Kat... she's just the easiest person to talk to though. Like a chaos panda, I dumped everything on her and she got it. I just needed a second, psycho Type A, me and there she was saying "hell yess." She truly took the time to understand what mattered to me and where I needed help and then continued to go above and beyond. Being perhaps one of the easiest people to talk to, I really just vented one day about everything in house that drove me nuts and low and behold she comes through again. HELLO JAMES! Repainted my whole kitchen, up the stairs, my office, hallway, doors, fixed annoying window frames ruined by rain water. I feel like a have a brand new house. As I already acknowledged, I am a crazy type A human and the attention to detail is amazing. Im pretty sure I changed scope at least 5 times and the whole process from start to finish was the easiest. I already have plans to bring them back again fix cracks in the ceiling (and perhaps one more project my husband just doesn't know about yet ). Im just soo happy we found them. Thank you guys so much for everything. Please, if anyone needs anything done - painting, trim work, window sills, deep cleans, regular cleans - I've used them for it all and I have yet to experience anything except greatness. If they offered it, I'd let them watch my dogs!
