Elmwood Dental Group make visiting the dentist an extremely pleasurable experience. More recently, my four year-old son fell face first onto a bench while visiting the Strong Museum of Play. With a quick call to Elmwood Dental, they had us in office in less than an hour. Their staff are so amazing with the little ones! Dr. Chris made his x-ray super painless, and as much fun as a four year-old can have getting an x-ray on a tender tooth. Dr. Comfort even gave out her cell number in case he had an issue over the weekend, while the office was closed. Additionally, I want to add that Kayla, the hygienist who worked on my two young boys, made it so fun for them, it seemed like a playdate. Same goes with the filling that Dr. Comfort performed on my older son. He was genuinely enjoying himself and having fun the whole time. I love this practice and would recommend it to anyone in need of dental care. Which is everyone, really. My family has only been going here for about a month, but already the staff feel like family. The thing that really has me gushing about this cherished establishment is the family environment, friendliness, kindness, respectfulness, professionalism, excellent bedside manner, and a staff that has always made me feel welcome, respected, and kind of like I'm family while there. From the front desk to assistants, hygienists, and doctors - it's been nothing but top-notch, always friendly, always patient, aways attentive, light and enjoyable interaction. This past week I had the pleasure of being greeted by Janet, the in-take assistant with whom I enjoyed some pleasant convo with. My previous hygienist (Sarah, whom I loved!) has gone elsewhere. I met my new hygienist, Carla, who was as friendly as they come, and super gentle with my sensitive problem teeth. The doctor's assistant, Ellie, was also friendly, enjoyable to chat with, and did her thing in perfect harmony with Dr. K. during the crown and more recent fillings. I can't say enough good things about this dental practice. Dr. Cabrera (owner and dental surgeon) runs an excellent business. He's also super friendly and has provided outstanding work for me in previous visits. His staff goes above and beyond the call of duty in my opinion. When first entering Brighton Dental, you can expect a friendly greeting from the office employees. The waiting room is equipped with a Keurig Coffee Maker, a water dispenser, and also an area for children to comfortably await their appointment, or the appointment of their guardian. The actual appointment with the dentist will surely be a pleasurable experience, well, as pleasurable of an experience one can encounter in a dental office setting. Unlike other dentist offices I have visited, Brighton Dental offers me an option to listen to my favorite bands via internet radio. The relaxing song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit", is typically what I desire when choosing the Nirvana station. A typical response from most would assume this genre of music to be too powerful. Studies have proven that specific genres of music induce relaxation, music specific to one's liking. An increase in endorphins is also prevalent, which generally assists in pain relief during more in-depth procedures. The doctor I can personally review without bias is Dr. Chalom, DDS. He not only practices in a professional manner, but also provides his patients with interesting and amusing conversation. He conveys his actions verbally if one shows signs of unease during one's procedure. It can sometimes be difficult to resist the urge of laughter whilst he describes details of his conversational material. Laughter and comedic antics are also another source of releasing endorphins. Thus, has proven to be psychologically important, as I created an extremely painful crack in my recent root canal, fault of my own, if I may add. Dr. Chalom's assistant, Ms. Vosburg (Her exact title is unknown) is a big help in continuing the conversation during times of speech restriction due to dental instruments. All in all, they have actively pursued ways to implement strategies assisting in their procedures, of which have proven to be effective. I often see children in the office during my visitation, and they show no signs of disapproval, from my perspective. As someone who cared for an autistic sibling, I know the importance of this aspect. My personal approval rating would be higher, given the opportunity to increase the star rating. The work they did was very good according to a couple other dentists I saw afterward. For this alone I would rate them five stars. Cons: Cost is the sole reason I left. A special 3-D scan cost $649; two other dentists I asked charged $150 and $250 for same scan and were surprised by the Brighton Dental price. On implants, the going price around WNY is $4,000-$5,000 whereas the Brighton Dental charge was $6,500. It was not a special case for an implant and I had it done elsewhere for just under $4,000. This time, not just two but three other dentists I asked about this were surprised by the Brighton Dental Group price. Also, the Brighton dentist assured me that I needed a second implant whereas two other dentists who did not know each other thought I only needed one.
