My husband and I booked a guided tour at the MMC and loved it. Our tour guide was very…read moreknowledgeable and answered all of the questions that I had. We both found all of the new information interesting but we were so into it that we completely forgot to take any pictures of our experience! I loved getting to see the seals and seal lions and hear all of their noises, they are absolutely adorable! The museum room was very cool to see and touch everything up close, if you have kids I think that will be their favorite part. I love that the MMC is set up so that both adults and kids could enjoy, we enjoyed getting to learn how rescues and care happened for all of the mammals that come into care but I know kids would enjoy seeing the animals at the MMC and getting to see the museum room. I also think as a resident of California it's so important to start teaching kids young to respect our wildlife and for us as adults to know who to call in case wildlife is in danger. Thank you so much for the great tour, I wish we had taken some pictures!

We had an amazing experience at The Marine Mammal Center! We reserved our free, timed-entry tickets…read moreonline for a Sunday at 1 PM, and the staff was incredibly flexible and welcoming when we arrived. This place is a phenomenal animal hospital and education center, and it's clear the volunteer staff cares just as much about the visitors as they do about the animals. They provide a laminated map so you can explore at your own pace, but we highly recommend paying for the guided tour. Our tour took us past the large Elephant Seal statue and a view inside the treatment labs and fish kitchen. From the second-level observation deck, we watched the staff care for patients in their pens--they can hold and treat hundreds of seals, sea lions, and endangered species at a time. We loved reading the success stories of animals they've rescued and released, like Lincoln, through the before-and-after flip boards. We left with a whole new appreciation for the incredible work they do here. Please visit, learn, and support this fantastic organization!

It won't be a waste of your time. Drop off what is nice but not needed so that someone who really needs it can have it! Note the specific open hours and donations accepted times on their website. Marin is the Mecca if you are either an ordinary shopper or a reseller in the high-end resale market this is a fabulous cause as well. They dress people who are looking for a new start and help them get professional clothes to go to interviews and such. The donations for the store come from very nice and wealthy donors in San Francisco and other areas of Marin County. The prices here are amazing. I mostly shop for myself but occasionally find something well enough price that I could resell it. They have a five dollar rack where they put everything that hasn't sold in two months. I found some amazing things on that rack today. I also bought myself some lovely things spent more than five dollars of course but not anywhere near the actual value of these designer pieces if you are anywhere near this place, you must stop by and support this wonderful cause.

I could never understand places that could watch cats. It seems to go against their demeanor…read more My friend has been bringing all her cats here from the beginning of their opening saying how unique it was- that was the last time I visited, and I am so surprised how well it has been tweaked to perfection with A/C/air etc. but especially at this place! I know another place in San Rafael that had like some giant room with all the cats, which sounded chaotic to me. People would say, "oh it works out" or "you just need to have that kind of social cat." My cat is chill but doesn't care for the interloping neighbor cats -so wasn't sure how this would work out. She gets so upset with a visitng cat coming face to face with her in our windows. This place has little suites of different sizes for each cat or groups of cats from the same family and you can get video updates on your cat, plus extras if you so choose; like If you want to FaceTime your cat daily etc. This was my first time going and I was in a pinch, really needed a place for my cat to stay so we had to try it, it was slow going at the beginning, first video was all dark cause she was in her carrier hunkered down, but the final kitty email we got on the day of pick up our cat was out of her carrier taking pets and sweet talking although also kind of growling and hissing, ultimately kind of came around which was pretty amazing. I realize cats are not wanting change, certain cats, especially probably mine, but I was impressed to see the progress from her on that last day. Definitely worth a try it if you are in a pinch with a very picky cat. My cat is up at the crack of dawn, climbing trees and loves the garden and watching the wildlife fly in and out of the garden and sleeping in different window sill etc. comes in late. I do feel like next time she could get to the top of the perch of her suite next time and realize it is another version of her climbing tree. The staff totally understands the personality of cats, what they want and don't want, they are the boss and they are just so sweet to them and understanding. It goes a long way and takes very special talent to do this job great which they do .

I left my cats there about 2 weeks ago and that was such an amazing experience!…read more I'll start by saying I needed to make a last minute booking and they answered my request and my questions really fast which I really appreciated how easy was to communicate with the staff. Also they were really flexible and accommodated my schedule which made things so much easier for me. My younger cat Mango it is very anxious and do not do very well in new places, but they were so good with him that when I picked him up he wasn't stressed out at all about being away from home. Plus they sent me a "cat mail" which made me feel so much relieved seing that my babies were doing well during the day. I would definitely recommend and use their services again. 10/10
