Sadly, Far Hills Pharmacy appears to be closed for good. I found out about it in a local…read morenewsletter. If you look on-line, it says they're "temporarily closed." Unfortunately, my instincts are that that "temporarily" is destined to stretch on into "eternity." I can't say I've had a whole lot of experience with this place, but it's the epitome of an old-fashioned, small-town pharmacy, and the fact that it's gone is not good. As I've mentioned, the 1st time I came here was with my old friend for a milkshake, and I remember it being a damn good one. The next time was a year or 2 ago. My nose was running like a sieve, and I just felt crummy. This usually happens at least once every winter, and my usual remedy was Day-quil and Ny-quil. After a few days, they tended to work, but I was always left with a splitting headache, and it always took a few days before I was cured. Fed up, I decided to come to Far Hills for new medication, and the pharmacist was very helpful, much more so than in large chains like Walgreens or CVS. He asked me a few questions about my overall health, then recommended Coricidin "Cold & Flu" pills, plus a supplement designed to boost my immune system. The price was very reasonable. He cautioned that it might make me sleepy. I went home, took the pills as directed, and the next day I was vastly improved. I returned again sometime later for a milkshake and learned that they didn't make them anymore. Sad, but I got an ominous feeling from that. My last visit was a few weeks ago. There was no one at the front counter, and the 2 men working were on the phones, having in-depth conversations about the perilous state of the pharmacy's finances. The pharmacist was polite, apologized to me for the long wait, and rang me up without further distractions, but that ominous feeling had become a commanding sense of dark foreboding that the pharmacy was not long for the world. It's really too bad. I hate to see small, independent businesses fail, whether they're bookstores or pharmacies. Not too long after that last visit, I went to my local Walgreen's to pick up my prescription headache medication (yeah, I feel guilty about it, but I've been coming here for decades and only became aware of the Far Hills Pharmacy during the past few years) and couldn't help but reflect on the differences. Walgreens was larger, had more aisles, was more densely stocked with everything from Unisom pills to cough syrup to paper towels to vaccinations. But I for one will miss the homey, hands-on touch of the Far Hills Pharmacy, despite my limited experiences with it. I don't know how long they were in business, but it just feels very sad. Another independent bites the dust. Not good.

We explored possibilities but due to it being delivered to a business, I agreed to the next day. I contacted the store the next day (new delivery day) to follow-up and the driver was already on their way and to expect a little something. Moments later the delivery driver arrived and presented me with a small gift for the inconvenience. From the phone calls to the delivery, I experienced nothing but great customer service. Yeah, the delivery arrived late but I appreciated the communication and also- life happens! I would order here again.

Called mom late on the 13th to learn how she liked the gift and she noted it was never delivered! Contacted Eddie at the store and he assured me it would be delivered by 9:00 that evening and with a free balloon as a make-good. Spoke to mom on Mother's Day and no delivery was made the evening prior or on Mother's Day! Spoke with the store again and was assured it would be delivered by end of evening. The gift was never delivered and worse, my AMEX card billed for $69.00! Will never use or recommend Edible to anyone as you can't count on the delivery being made or have any faith in what you are told by their employees. Have used Cheryl's Cookies and Sheri's Berries and both have great service and better product.

Much to my surprise, Danson and the team were able to remove nearly all of the tarnish! They took their time to ensure the restoration of these pieces was done right. I'm very happy with how Jack and the team cleaned up my silver items, and will definitely be sure to come back if I need to restore other pieces.

EDITED TO RESPOND TO OWNER:…read more Please stop with your fabrications. You weren't there when I came in. What you think you know about this interaction was likely already twisted by your girl. I spent about 5mins with her that day - i knew what i wanted when i came in. She was the one attempting to "change my decision", when she tried to pull a bait-and-switch on me, i left your store immediately. There was no back and forth on my decision-making, none of my requests "evolved" into something different, i knew what i wanted when i called and when i came in. I wanted a basket setting w/ push back that has a flap. Polyanna was trying to upsell me with different backs where she immediately doubles the price to $850. So i said no to that immediately. I told her I just want the basket settings and push backs with the flap that she quoted $450 for. When she wouldn't honor her own quote, and still want to charge me $850, i left your store straight away. It's pretty clearly "her word against mine" here, and whoever wants to believe which side, is what it is. All I'm trying to convey is that i was able to find a reputable jeweler (Alfred Jeweler) that was able to do, what you called a "minor service" at a fair price $520 with all 14k white gold. They didn't just spit out a number in the air. They weighed the gold settings and backs in front of me before giving a final price, with all the specs i wanted. No "scrap metal" as you're trying to imply. If your settings and backs are truly priced per piece and "not by weight". Then it makes less sense why the price would go up to $850. I gave her the specific settings and backs that i wanted to purchase. She quoted me $450 total. ------------------ ORIGINAL REVIEW: Please read if you DO NOT want to get swindled by this business! I have a very specific situation, but if you make it to the end of this review, it will become clear how dishonest they can be. Be wary when doing business with Danson. I've been calling around local jewelers to get quotes for mounting 2 matching diamonds (1 carat each) that i own, into stud earrings. I've searched high and low, coz I was very specific about a few things. I was receiving quotes between $400-$500, to set my 2 diamonds into 14k white gold. Pretty consistent price anywhere i called. I'd also mention i want the basket setting, push back with the flap to avoid the earrings from drooping. These are my exact words every time i make a call. So I call Danson jewelers and spoke to this woman, Pollyanna. She said they can do that and she gave me a quote at $450. Again, pretty consistent with other shops, and she said i can even watch and wait for my earrings to be set. I thought... perfect!! Well, i show up there and she was trying to upsell me with a screw back... for $850! So I said "i just want the push back with a flap, that we talked about over the phone, that you quoted $450 for". She wouldn't honor that quote, she said it would still be $850 because of the gold prices". Mind you, we just talked over the phone an hour ago from that time... I highly doubt gold shot up that high within an hour. I have done my research, i've called and been to many jewelers before showing up to Danson. For her to double the price, without even weighing the gold settings and backs on a scale, it was quite clear what she was trying to do. One big positive that came out of this though... is that i got my amazing earrings made, by my (now) amazing jeweler - ALFRED JEWELERS in Glen Rock! I got all the specs i wanted for $520. Yes, this is with the 14k white gold, basket setting and earring backs, that Danson was trying to charge me $850 for! The owner at Alfred jewelers actually weighed the gold right there before giving me the final price. For my peace of mind, he also put my diamonds under a microscope (in front of me), took pictures of what they call a "diamond fingerprint" both in the beginning, and when i picked up, so i can confirm that they're my exact same diamonds I'm taking home. I love my new studs. Sadly, Danson is just another opportunistic business that isn't thinking about a possible long term relationship with a new client.

Upon the death of my husband, it was sent to me as a sympathy bouquet from a friend in North Carolina. This is absolutely the worst bouquet that I have ever received. It looks like the flowers were bought at ShopRite, stuck in a vase, and then delivered at an address in Branchburg. I know the sender asked that a sunflower be included in the bouquet--there was none. There was barely a hint of greenery to fill out the bouquet. I feel badly for my friend who sent it, as I can only imagine how much money she spent on this bouquet. I feel like the florist made no attempt to make a decent bouquet, knowing that the person from another state would never see it. And to send such a bouquet to a house where people are grieving demonstrates lack of care and concern. I received several other bouquets from other florists. Each of them looked like they were put together with care, understanding, and love. If I could give Bedminster Florist zero stars I would, as they do not deserve any stars.
