Saltholmen is the departure point for the archipelago south of Göteborg. There's a small beach and…read morean area for swimming. And an old fashioned kro (inn) with food and drink. But it is best known as where you park your car and catch the ferry to the car-free islands where people have their summer homes or rent one. There's a trolley to Saltholmen. Don't forget: it stays light very late in the summer in Sweden. Salthomen was beautiful at 9:30 pm (21:30 for Europeans) as the sun slowly set.

It's not a typical beach with sand, but there are rocks and ladders you can use to jump from and climb out. Our friendly server brought the wine, the red was perfect (I love how they let you taste it first here), and then this huge plate of charcuterie! The wine paired perfectly with it, so good.
