Quality Hardware is everything you could ever want in a local hardware store. I've got fond…read morememories of coming here has a child 25 years ago and as a homeowner now, they are still my first choice when I need small hardware items, or when I need good advice. For the size of the store, it is really remarkable how much variety they have crammed in, and the absolutely amazing staff don't hesitate to help you figure out a solution to any problem. I can't tell you the number of times I have walked in with a poorly explained question, or half of a broken piece of something, and they've immediately identified what I needed, showed me where to find it, and explained to me the best way to fix something. For your average 90's kid who is maybe not the best a home repairs, Quality Hardware is constantly the lifesaver I need them to be on small home repairs! For bonus points, you can't forget how wonderful the fresh popped popcorn is. It really lightens up a frustrating unplanned repair to get a bag of delicious, fresh popcorn for less than 50 cents!

When checking out my child was carrying a stuffed animal that was purchased from a small business store nearby. Oddly enough I guess Ace Hardware sells the same item and the associate asked if "I was going to purchase the item" my child was carrying. I informed her it was purchased at another store. I feel like once I said that the associate should have believed me, but insisted on seeing the receipt. She also mentioned " if she would have seen my child walk in with it she wouldn't need to see the receipt." Well no duh, so I said "call the cops and we can check all the cameras you guys have up." She then said "don't worry about it." I had to call my wife over and she provided a digital receipt from the small business purchase. I don't recall getting a thanks or apology from the associate. Could have been handed better by the associate. Would have been embarrassing if other customers were around but the only other person around was another associate. I've been going there many years and they have a good selection of many different items so I do recommend checking them out.

Was trying to find propane hoses and fittings for a Mr. Heater buddy heater... and I didn't know I…read moreneeded an associate's degree in thermodynamics to select the proper one. There were several dozen to choose from, and it was almost impossible to tell what would link together. I selected the coupling and hose I believed would work for me, and instead of making me buy it and go through a return process, they let me take it all out of the packaging and hook the heater (i had it in my car) to one of their store propane tanks to ensure it would all fit. It did, and then we conducted the transaction. This was just before a major winter storm. They were very patient with everyone who called, came in, and people like me learning on the fly, even though they were just inundated with calls and people. They do offer propane tank fill-ups here, and things like mulch, pine straw, hay, firewood, on a seasonal basis.

Every time I drive here for some odd thing they always seem to have it and at a reasonable price. Case in point, just today I needed a 5/8" bore 2" drive pulley. Lowe's didn't have them, Home Depot didn't have them, and neither did the hardware store in THOMASVILLE or Southside in High Point. Williams in Sophia had one, but I needed two. Amazon sent me one but it can with the wrong bore. Not only did Hillville have FOUR of them in stock but they were 1/4 of the price I paid on Amazon. I feel a little bad that they aren't higher on my list but living in the north end of High Point just doesn't put them top of mind. Neat place that reminds me of my father-in-law's old country hardware store back in Ohio.

I found the perfect cabinet hardware and they made the process so easy to take samples home to figure out what would work best. I wish I would've known about them earlier and I probably would have also used them for more of the project and my previous bathroom remodel. They did a great job helping me place my order and providing order updates. Everything was delivered on time and in perfect condition. They are a hidden gem in the High Point/Greensboro area! When having to shop at a Lowes, this one is much more preferrable over the Greensboro (Wendover)…read morelocation, though still nothing to write home about. Like any of these big box hardware store, you can find just about anything you need for DIY home projects, from landscaping, to plumbing, painting, electrical and more. But to keep prices, low, just beware, quality is absolutely reduced in some items, especially faucets for example. On a recent visit, while buying large sheets of plywood, I was at least able to find someone on the floor, willing to assist me in cutting the material on the panel saw, so I could fit them in my car. However, finding help in this store can be hit or miss, just depending on which department you are in. All in all, it's a decent store, to get what you need, but just beware of quality, and don't go in always expecting to find employees to help you.

The worst experience ever. Jimmy Kelly came because I wanted to have my front entrance door and…read morestorm door replaced. I purchased doors that he told me were standard and in stock. They were not. After much miscommunication and misinformation (a new storm door had to be reordered) the installers came to put them in. Two months so far. Both doors were put up when he realized that Jimmy Kelly had ordered the wrong handle for the storm door and it had to be ordered from Pella, Lowe's did not have them. Jimmy Kelly will never communicate with you once the sale is made. So, three months have now passed and no handle for my storm door. I wouldn't recommend using Lowe's for anything and especially Jimmy Kelly.
