We looked around for a good quality grill to go with our hardscape in the back yard. After looking at the craftmanship of several manufacturers we decided to go with NorCal Ovenworks in California. I tried to order a grill and when I contacted Gary about just picking it up in person in my truck he agreed but told me to place the order on the website first. One problem though, The website wanted to charge me 400 dollars for shipping. Obviously I had a problem with this since I was picking it up in person, I reached out several times to Gary to try and get him to wave the charge but he didn't feel the need to reply or do anything. Thankfully I found a cheaper and much higher quality alternative with infinitely better customer service from a young man who specializes in making argentine grills by the name of iron heart grills. I feel like it'd be a sin to not tell people about that guy and let them get screwed over by ol Gary. Like the other reviews say, my only regret is that I can't give less than 1 star to this absolutely abysmal business. read more

I offered a review of this company a few years ago; I guess it kind of disappeared in Gary's move from Cali to Texas, but I insist: these grills are not a good deal. Inferior design, inferior materials, inferior customer service. Gary will talk your ear off for hours before the grill is made; once it's delivered, just try and get him to help. My grill's body warped: it was my fault for lighting it in cool weather (???) The casters fell apart and I discovered they were welded, not bolted to the frame. Not Gary's problem. Now it sits on a furniture dolly. The fuel grate warped and rusted to the point where it won't travel up and down. Gary told me to grind down the edges with a dremel tool. This is all in like, 20 cooks. I kept the thing under a tarp in a garage between uses. Then I tried breaking it down, oiling components, and storing everything I could indoors between used. No good. Still rusty. Boo. read more
