Went here for the first time and asked that my eyebrows not be thinned out. Just cleaned up. She did my eyebrows quickly. But my eyebrows were reshaped and made thinner so I was disappointed by that as I had been growing out my eyebrows for months. Idk if I need to phrase differently or make sure I show a picture. I will MAYBE try again BUT make sure I'm very detailed and specific that I DO NOT want my eyebrows to made thinner or reshaped. My eyebrows still looked nice but I just love my natural shape and thicker eyebrows. read more

Finally decided to go thread my eyebrows again, even though I usually don't like doing it because of the pain. I came here since my boss has straight up told me plenty of times that she wants me to start applying on make up, even though I don't know how. I guess I understand though since we have to look professional and alive. I find eyebrows hard to do, so I thought having them cleaned and shaped will help with me significantly. I arrived around 5 minutes before the official opening time, but they were already opened. I was also hesitant to come in blindly since I read reviews that only Saima should be handling the brows. Luckily, she was there. Although she was pretty quick, she was talking to someone on her bluetooth device the whole time she was threading my eyebrows. I thought that was a bit unprofessional of her to do. I also had a slight fear that she wouldn't perform as well since she was being distracted. Thankfully I still liked how they ended up. read more

Saima always has me looking right anytime I get my brows done here! She's so quick and efficient and I always leave her chair feeling like a million bucks. She listens to what you want and finishes your eyebrows within five minutes! The prices are very affordable and there's plenty of parking. My boyfriend comes here with me to get his eyebrows done and she cleans up his shape but makes it look natural at the same time. read more

I used to go to Kaya in Rosemead all the time in high school but I've since then found a new go-to spot! Saima does my brows perfectly every time and for only $5+$1 tip it's worth the drive for me to go to El Monte just to get my brows done! Don't forget your stamp card when you come! For me, threading is painless when she does it and she gets it done quickly! Whatever you do, always ask for Saima and get a stamp card. I was actually a regular customer here, but the last 2 times I came they messed up my eyebrows sooo bad. They left one eyebrow very thin and misshaped and with hardly any hair on the bottom of my brow.. The first time they did it I figured ok I'd give them a chance to fix them and the time after that was just as bad. read more

I'm just going to say that I waited a long time before writing this review. I've been coming here for a while after a friend's recommendation. At first I loved it, my brows were literally living their best life. Then, I really don't know what happened. For the last 2-3 times I've gone they're messed up my brows SO BAD. i am not even kidding. One of my brows is so much thinner than the other. And my arches are so uneven, as os the beginning of my brow. Don't come at me with the "they're supposed to be sisters not twins" BS because my brows DID NOT look like this when I first started coming here. So it may be cheap but I guess you get what you pay for. I will not be coming back because they've screwed up my brows 3 times to the point where I have to wait for all my brow hair to go back. I also did a better job self plucking. Be careful ladies read more

First of all, I need to start with, this place says it closes at 8pm, and it doesn't. I showed up after work one day, at 7:09, and they were locking up saying they're closed. It was the night before my New Orleans birthday trip. I was definitely upset, but I tried to not let it make me mad, because Saima is usually not bad at what she does. This new lady however, has ruined my eyebrows. I gave her three chances, and after getting an EYELASH plucked (my biggest fear by the way) I was like, that's it. Not to mention the time in my car and at home I still spend plucking out SO MANY hairs she doesn't get. She leaves hair everywhere. You can feel in the way she does it that she doesn't know what she's doing, definitely not a professional. Also, she just puts alcohol on my face when she's done, which I hate. I mean come on, you can't even use the cheap witch hazel at least? It's no rose water or anything like that, but it's better than straight up alcohol. For services, it's not bad as long as you get Saima, that's the only reason this got an extra star. But honestly, I probably won't be going back. read more

I always end up waiting way too long between visits; but no matter how awful my eyebrows look when I walk in, they always look fabulous by the time I walk out. The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly, and the threading is very gentle compared to other places I've been. The salon is conveniently located right off the freeway and there's always plenty of parking. And the best part is you don't need to make an appointment. I've only waited once (around lunch time), but she works fast so you never wait for long. All the other times I've been, I've never had to wait. read more

Went in today only to see that the regular gal that threads my brows was not there. I did not stress figure it shouldn't be that bad. Horrible mistake on my end to trust another person. I'm a dude so I don't usually stress about different people threading them. Now I know why women stick to one person. She's never touching my face again lol. Now I have to wear glasses for the next month. I did not want to bring it up as to the place was full rather just warn that if you are used to the regular gal she is not there. Update...she's back. 100% satisfied. read more

I've been coming here for as long as i can remember, this comment is about the girl who's recently been working there, i let her do my eyebrows once and i didn't like, but that shouldn't matter, it's my face my money i should be picky about it, i never let her do my brows again and always ask for the original lady whom i have been going to for YEARS. i walked in on thursday and the OG wasn't there, so i said f*** it, BIGGEST mistake of my life, she literally CUT me & i can't help but feel it was intentional bc i always refuse to let her touch my eyebrows. i am so disappointed as a regular customer for years. don't trust her. stick to the origin (rating if for the original girl) read more

My go to place when I need to get my eyebrows done ! When I found ougt Saima opened up her own place and right by my place, I stopped going to Kaya's threading. Not only is she closer to me than Kaya and a dollar cheaper (yay!), She does my eyebrows just the way I ask her to. While sometimes you have to be specific with what you want (where I feel most people don't and they complain about their brows), Saima will do so if you tell her. I always come in for a clean up and every once in awhile I ask her to add a more visible arch. She also trims it short for me cause they always get so long ! 95% of the time, I'm seated right away and out within 5 minutes. I've never once been disappointed with her work (fingers crossed it doesn't ever change!) read more

Located in a plaza on Michael Hunt Dr. and Durfee is a hidden gem. Inside is a prized gem by the name of Saima and her three rows of station chairs (although she's the only one that works there). Services here are cheap, but do not lack in skill! Lip threading is $3 and $5 for eyebrows. Onto the woman of the hour.. Saima is the best. When she left Kaya, I was truly devastated. The new girl ruined my brow shape. Luckily through Yelp, I was able to locate Saima. She worked patiently with me as we fixed the horror situated above my eyes. Tip: Ask for a stamp card. Collect 10 stamps and get 1 free eyebrow threading service! read more

When I went the manager was very welcoming, as far as the lady who did my eye brows not so much. She first took a second to look at my eyebrows and said I only needed a clean up which is exactly why I went. Not to much talking, She then proceeded to thread, it took her about 7 minutes. The one main problem with the service was that at the end when she finished she kinda just walked away. She wiped my face a little with a napkin then threaded some more and walked away leaving hair still on my face and the napkin on my forehead. Idk it just felt awkward, it's probably because at other places even here in past experiences I'm used to getting a little massage at the end with aloe Vera or witch hazel and getting cleaned up. Luckily I had tree tea oil spray in my bag which I put right away because I could tell she didn't use hand sanitizer. When I looked in the mirror to wipe down the access hair I noticed my right brow was swollen and was cut up a bit. The entire time she was looking at me with RBF, I usually tip this time I didn't. My eyebrows looked good but I felt the service could've been better. Overall the price and time to get get your eyebrows done is pretty convenient. As far as their eyebrow threading I would give them a 8/10 only because in the past they have thinned out my brows but I'm pretty sure it depends who's threading your brows so just make sure you tell them that you don't want them thin. Other than that they shape them pretty good and if you don't like it just tell them they'll do their best to fix it.

I've not been to other saloons but I often hear that eyebrow threading takes a while, however at this place I get my eyebrows done within a few minutes and I've never been disappointed by the quality of the work. Careful about the timings though they're closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays so make sure you call them before coming. read more

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience…read more I showed the technician a reference photo of a set they had done on another client and specifically requested that exact look, including both top and bottom lashes. However, only the top lashes were done, and the final result looked quite different from the reference photo. Initially, I believed the lashes themselves were poor quality because they felt stiff, bent in an unusual way, and caused significant irritation. After posting this review, the owner reached out and explained that it's possible my irritation was caused by the type of glue used rather than the lashes themselves. Regardless of the cause, my eyes were very irritated throughout the experience, and I've never had that reaction after years of getting lash extensions. I also have photos showing how some of the extensions bent in an unusual way. At the end of the appointment, I was only given a single spoolie. Based on other customers' reviews, I expected the aftercare kit that many people received. I also wasn't given any instructions on how to clean or care for my lashes. Unfortunately, the retention was also very poor. In less than a week, all of my lash extensions had fallen off. I've never had that happen before, so I was very surprised and disappointed with the longevity of the application. Before posting this review, I reached out to the salon to share my concerns. They apologized and offered me a small discount to come back so they could add longer lashes and the bottom lashes that were originally requested. While I appreciated the offer, I didn't feel comfortable returning because of the discomfort I experienced and the poor retention. There was also one part of the experience that made me feel uncomfortable. During my appointment, I noticed three people gathered around me and speaking in Mandarin. I am still learning Mandarin, so it's entirely possible I misunderstood or misheard parts of the conversation, and I don't want to make assumptions. However, at the time I felt like they were discussing me, which left me feeling uneasy. After this review was posted, the owner explained that one of the individuals was actually a student being trained, which is why multiple people were involved. I appreciate the clarification, but I do wish I had been informed beforehand that my appointment would be used as part of a training session so I could have decided whether I was comfortable with that. I truly appreciate that the owner and Amy personally reached out after my review, explained that the irritation may have been related to the adhesive, clarified the training situation, and apologized for my experience.
