There are bathrooms, water fountains, picnic tables, some grassy areas, a playground for toddlers and a separate area for the kids 5+. There is even a really neat zipline. We were happy to find this sizable and well-maintained park. Our kids are still asking about it a week later.

Overall, it's a lovely, dog-friendly spot to relax and cool off on a warm day.

A local outfitter also offers water activities rentals like paddle boards canoes and motorized ski. Definitely worthy of a visit!

I wouldn't have given it that high a rating but jt was a nice hike. When you first start the trail there is a fork for the loop, either you go down into the forest or go straight along the cliff. Most people we ran into seemingly walked down into the forest first, which meant they walked uphill most of the hike. We went straight along the cliff wall and ended up walking down hill for most of the 5 mile loop. It really was only the last half a mile that was uphill to get back to the start of the trail. I highly advise to go straight to make less work on yourself esp if you're elderly or with young families. I saw a few people turn around because the hike up was becoming too much. We had three children 5 and under who didn't feel tired until we were into the half mile uphill for reference on the different experiences you can have depending on the route you take.

This dog park has some wonderful offerings. Not only is it located in the beautiful wooded, shaded, and peaceful nature park, it is also full of fun amenities for your furry family members.  The dog park is on an enclosed 1 acre space for off leash play and exercise with a variety of fun and thoughtful touches. There's a dog-friendly sandbox, different agility course features, and a splash pad. Other amenities include a dog water fountain, dog wash station, benches, and dog waste stations with courtesy bags. Current park hours are open 7 days a week, 7AM to 7PM, and access is FREE! We also heard that supposedly, the park staff will be working on an expansion to the Barks and Tails Dog Park, increasing it's size to about 4 acres and incorporating a trail into the space as well. It's pretty exciting!

Most are visible from overlooks with short hikes, and for the more adventurous, there are treks to the bottom of the namesake falls, a cable trail (bring leather gloves, carabiner, possibly climbing gear) to Rockhouse Falls, or longer trails like the Paw Paw loop, Overlook trail, or even the Prater Place for a hidden Hemlock Falls. I also stayed in the lodge, which was fantastic! The rooms were well equipped, comfortable, and had great features like balconies. The view at the restaurant over the lake was beautiful, especially at sunset. The fisherman style cabins have decks literally on the water, so that looked like a must see at some point, too!! Couple of other hits: pet friendly rooms, pet friendly trails, golf course, cabins, fire pit and pool at lodge, Nature Center, and Visitor Center!

Many sites in campground C have a minimum to major slope to the concrete sites as they fall to a valley. All utilities are in the back corners of sites that include water spigot, a power pedestal with 20AMP, 30AMP, 50AMP electricity, and sewer connection. The campground did have decent guest WiFi, but we utilized our own StarLink satellite for internet. The park is amazing with golf, lodge, trails, and falls.

I would recommend the younger kids might need to have a parent with them because the waves get really high & hard! The slide is super fun & smooth so it doesn't hurt, but at the end you will more than likely have a wedgy! The view is amazing & so pretty! At night you can see the stars perfectly clearly & they are beautiful! This was a very nice place.

Pioneer Frontier Park has something for kids of all ages. Slides and things to climb on for toddlers. Bigger slides and things to climb on for your older kids. Swings for all sizes, and even a kid powered merry go round. Let's not forget the fence enclosed splash pad, which is great for keeping wet kids in and dry kids out. The equipment is in excellent condition, and the grounds are clean. The only slight drawback is that the play area is covered with mulch instead of recycled tire, so a fall is a little more painful.

What a great park! Hiking trails, a pond, splash pad, playground, baseball fields, picnic…read morepavilions, ample parking, and the grounds are always immaculate. What's not to love? We have enjoyed impromptu trips to the playground and splash pad, planned events with community groups, and there's a modest convention center. I feel like I'm forgetting some great amenities, but it's totally worth checking out.
