Modern Play is a locally owned children’s gymnastics and movement center in Chattanooga. We offer parent and child classes, preschool and school-age gymnastics, dance and tumble, ninja, aerial and acro, tumbling, Baby Play events, open gym, Parents’ Night Out, camps, and private kids birthday parties.
Our classes combine purposeful play with real skills and age-appropriate progressions for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and big kids. No membership is required for open gym or special events.

History
Established in 2017.
Modern Play opened in Chattanooga in August 2017 with a goal of creating a welcoming place where children could move, play, build confidence, and learn real skills.
What began as a locally owned children’s movement gym has grown into a community serving families through gymnastics, mommy and me classes, dance, tumbling, ninja, tumbling, toddler classes, birthday parties, and Parents’ Night Out.
Now in our 10th season, we are proud to have children who first visited us as babies still growing, learning, and celebrating milestones with us today.
Meet the Manager: Morgan W.
Hi, I’m Morgan! I’m one of the managers at Modern Play, and I’ve been here since we opened in 2017. I’ve watched babies become big kids, nervous first-timers become confident regulars, and more birthday candles get blown out than I can count.
I became a Modern Play parent too. My daughter started with Baby Play, has celebrated every birthday here since turning one, attends Parents’ Night Out whenever she can, and still asks when she gets to go back. Honestly, that feels like pretty solid customer feedback.
I love being part of a place families choose for so many moments, from a first class or birthday to open gym and a much-needed Parents’ Night Out. Behind the fun is a team that wants to know each child, meet them where they are, and help them build real skills and confidence.
My goal is for parents to feel like they’ve found their place and for kids to leave already asking when they can come back. That’s how we know we’ve done it right.
