I was referred to one who shortly after passed me on to someone else who appeared not to be interested in starting a program. I drove by 1-on-1 Personal fitness and decided to give it a try. I met with Adam and later talked to Amanda and was pleasantly surprised .They are always friendly every time you step in the door, knowledgeable and very supportive. Amanda worked me hard and did not allow me to beat myself up if I had a bad day. She showed me the correct way to workout to prevent injury and I have lost close to 20lbs in less then a 2 month period! If you want people who generally care about your physical health and will go the extra mile to help you achieve your goals, go see Adam and Amanda/

My time training with Amanda has been beyond productive; she provides excellent workouts that challenge and entertain. I actually enjoy my workouts, as hard as they are. Her motivation truly inspires me to excel. Eating right is a massive part of staying in shape, and she helps with that, too. However, she never pushes me to buy products or pressures me to sign up for additional programs like I've run into with other trainers. Call 1on1 for a free consultation---Adam patiently listened to my concerns and answered my questions; he will do the same for you. 1On1 Personal Training is worth it! (Note: I am living in Chattanooga right now, not NYC like my account says.)

This is a gym like no other that I have experienced. Gym isn't even the word I would use. Training…read morezone is more accurate. The outside looks like a warehouse, but inside is an astro turf field that is marked similar to a football field. D1 Training offers one-on-one training as well as womens, mens, and co-ed boot camp style classes. The calendar will fit anyone's schedule. The first class is offered at 530 and the last one at 7pm. The safe is excellent. Quick to help you and answer any questions. They offer a free fitness type assessment to see if 1)you even like the type of training they do and 2) to see where you would best fit in when it comes to classes. My fitness assessment was one-on-one and included a comprehensive dynamic stretching period, the fitness portion, and a cool down. It was a out 45 minutes! The fitness portion included tire flipping, sled pushing, ball slams, and some ab work and finished with a plank hold. Very challenging and fun! After my assessment I had some time to talk with Dan, the trainer who gave my assessment. We spent time talking about my goals, the training facility, and he answered all my questions. I never felt rushed or like an annoyance. They do offer single classes or packages for both boot camp and personal training. They do have classes for kids as well. If you're looking for a unique place to ramp up your workout, check out D1!

I have to give D1 an overall very poor rating at this point…read more That in no way reflects on my trainer, Randy Webb, who is the best there is as far as I am concerned. I have known and have worked out with Randy, off and on since 1985. My wife and I have been regulars for nearly the past year. The problem is the management of the facility...or lack thereof in this case. When D1 first began in Chattanooga, it was set up to train professional level athletes and any others who wanted that level of rigor. Oh, how things have changed. Today, when you walk in during evening hours, you will likely see groups of twenty or more children being taught how to be a cheerleader or perhaps some low level workout routine or you might see some soccer or softball team doing some basic workouts, but you will not see any professional, collegiate or even high school level athletes being trained for maximum performance. It is a bit of a daycare rather than a serious athletic facility at this point. There may be as many as seventy five or a hundred children in the facility at one time....with their parents standing on the sidelines in support. And then you will see Randy's dedicated group trying to find enough space in the facility to even workout because the owner seems to kick this business to the side to accommodate the larger groups of children. I guess ultimately it really is all about the money. I get that. Now, I certainly have no problem with children receiving some type of athletic instruction. Good for them. That's great. Our schools are probably failing them in this arena, but this facility was not designed for mass training of elementary and middle school students, nor was the parking lot designed to accommodate dozens of adults who park in the lot but are not really customers themselves. This brings me to make a few points about how the facility is managed. My fellow workout friends have mentioned and even complained on several occasions about the type of music that is played on the loudspeakers, while children are present, and while others are working out. Without going in to detail, it is often very loud, the lyrics are just not suitable for children and/or young adults...or even adults in a civilized society. They are filled with sex, violence and other street language that you can probably imagine. This is what is being heard by these young people. It is simply not appropriate. The parking lot has very limited capacity. When all the children have filled the facility and their parent are there to watch, there are no more spaces to be used by actual customers. If a car is parked on the street above the facility, leading to the AMC Theaters, it will be towed according to the signs, and they are serious. The main street is not wide enough to accommodate street parking so that is not an option. The only other option is to jump a curb and park in the grass. Today it was raining heavily. My wife and I were scheduled to meet at the facility for Randy's 5:30p class. When I pulled in to the parking lot, there was not an empty parking space in the lot due to the situation I have described above. I backed up and carefully backed on to the grass to do as little damage as possible in the rain. I looked up and a gentleman was approaching me. I rolled down my window in the rain and it turned out to be the owner of D1. He advised me that he could not let me park there and told me to park on the street above, knowing full well that I would be towed. I objected. He then told me to park at Home Depot, two hundred yards away....and then walk in the pouring rain. I told him he was not being very accommodating or courteous to a regular customer. I actually told him he was running business off. He could not have cared less. He wanted to protect his grass. There are several other problems that I have observed with the overall management of the D1 facility but suffice it to say that, aside from fully recommending Randy Webb as a trainer, there is no way I could in good conscience, justify recommending the D1 facility to anyone who is serious about working out in a professional atmosphere. There are better options.

I posted my concern on Google for Rock Fitness in Fort O. I have read all the reviews and comments…read moreand noticed the responses are typically the same as I received. No reply like "we'll work on it", "we'll see what we can do", or any response that shows they care what the clients think. Most of their response was not the true story. There are no paper towels and no towels in the class room to use. They don't allow a second review on their website either. Love the class I take just saying the staff is lacking in skills dealing with people. Read reviews!

I explained that I thought you could bring someone with you (as is the case at previous gyms I've been a member of like workout anytime), and he got aggressive and informed me in a needlessly impolite way that you can't do that. My friend asked if he could hang out while I workout but not use the equipment and he said no. Fair enough, I didn't know. So, I left because I wasn't gonna make my friend wait in the car for me or something like that, but the guy is still mouthing off behind me angrily so I just say "have a nice day man", confused by why he was overreacting like this and why this small mistake I made had escalated to become such a big deal. It certainly wasn't me who was getting upset about it. As Im walking out he shouts that he'll suspend my membership for a week, which is crazy because I didn't know about the rule he acted like it was my 100th time doing this or something. Absurd overreaction from this guy, what a joke. He actually ran out after me into parking lot as I'm leaving and called me a smartass, and for what? I literally didn't do anything and it's never that serious. Ridiculous behavior, I don't know what this guys problem is but that's not how you should treat your customers especially considering how mild my transgression was and how I left without causing any trouble or arguing about it, I literally don't know why he got so mad and had such a temper tantrum over it. Like his eyes were practically popping out of his skull he was seething so hard, it was so blown out of proportion and outlandish how he was trying to intimidate me and cause such a spectacle, it threw me for a loop. Super weird. I've been coming here frequently for about a month and I follow all the rules and clean the equipment after I use it. Maybe he just doesn't like my face or something I dunno. Crazy situation. The gym is nice overall but the hostility and unwelcoming attitude from this guy was unbelievable. Unfortunately I'm locked into a year long contract here, so it is what it is. Maybe he'll find a silly reason to terminate it early and I can go somewhere else that values their patrons.
