They have a wonderful inventory at all times. I love their January and July sales. All the staff is very helpful.

Among the most tasteful and inviting clothing shops in LA. Often in tandem with higher end designers, retailers become less and less accessible. Not Noodle Stories. Comfort is replaced with unease. I don't see that as much outside LA - probably because if good retail environments were as unfriendly as they are here they would see massive complaints. LA ppl expect it. After all, most good places in LA aren't friendly. Anyways - having lived away from LA for a couple years now I do like a more inviting shopping environment. H. Lorenzo just doesn't cut it. My only gripe is that Noodle Stories has very few menswear, and only a handful of unisex items. Oh how I wish there were an entirely separate store. read more

Honestly their clothes are okay.. but the customer service here is terrible! My friend and I both agree the women sales person working there was so rude. All I asked was where they source the clothing and she made such a snarky comment and did not try even make eye contact. She just acted very pompous. Due to this I will not even recommend or come back ! You can find better customer service at a lower end clothing store. read more

I had trouble finding this store because it does not have a visible sign from the road - it simply has a sign in the lower corner of the left window. After some patience and number checking, I found it across the street a few stores down from Satine. This store boasts an impressive selection of haute couture Japanese designers such as Comme des Garcons, Junya Watanabe, and Y3 by Yohji Yamamoto. The space is very clean and modern with white walls and the clothes on industrial-looking racks and artistic chairs made of cloth bound by metal strapping. One clerk, who may have been the owner, politely welcomed me and said if I had any questions, feel free to ask. She then aided one of the other clerks who was ringing up a complicated transaction that seemed to grow as the customers found more items to add to their bill. While the clothes and the space were great, I am not sure I can see myself coming back to this shop. read more

It's hard for me to dislike any store that stocks Comme des Garcons, Y's and Margiela-- nonetheless, I had an exceptionally great shopping experience at Noodle Stories. The sales associate was extremely friendly and helpful. We left the store with the perfect pair of black boots, thus ending a 10 year+ search!!! I LOVE coming to this store. My first experience with them was well over 2 years ago, I came in around November looking for something cool to buy for my birthday, I was told to come in and ask for Cici (his real name is Cirilo), he was the one that helped me find that perfect item. He has some really cool stories to share, too, about Rei Kawakubo (the founder of Comme des Garcons), his time in Japan, and he also designs a couple of things. I tried on a pair of pants that he made and I fell in love. Anyway, I bought this gorgeous shawl from Issey Miyake and Cici helped me style it. What a wonderful experience it was. I came back another time and got his insanely good knit from Junya Watanabe (I live in that thing to this day). I've worn both items a couple of times and get massive amounts of compliments. I've been back a couple of times because the store is divided into 2, there's Noodle Stories and NS Temp. They're always changing things around so be sure to ask what is where, you might find CDG Tricot in one of the stores and Miyake in the next, or CDG Men's might be all in one (I'm rambling). Oh! And be sure to sign up to their e-mail blasts, they have these crazy good discounts at the end of the season with like, 80 to 90% off (I kid you not!). Also, if you have a cool eccentric lady in your life take her here, the Margiela selections they have (along with the CDG women's) are crazy good. I'll probably be back in there again for this coold CDG Homme Plus blazer. Go, go! If you're too intimidated by Maxfield, or couldn't find it, come to Noodle Stories. I would like to tell you ahead of time that it is completely unlabeled, however, there is absolutely zero signage. That being said, I'll snap a photo of it and show you all where it is so you don't miss the fantastic little store near the boring Beverly Center. Noodle Stories stocks mostly avant-garde designers: Comme des Garcon, Maison Martin Margiela, Junya Watanabe, Yohji Yamamoto.... primarily Japanese and Belgian designers. They also carry basic, luxurious sweaters and a quaint variety of flat shoes (mostly loafers and the like). I don't know why the store is called Noodle Stories. But I'm desperate to find out. You won't find crazy prints here, embellished necklines, leggings or logo-infested handbags. (But they do have mens' clothing next door!) What you will find here is better: understated, meticulously crafted clothing that you have to try on to understand. Well, maybe you still won't understand the clothing, but to me, that's just part of the appeal of Noodle Stories' merchandise-- each design has been conceived "out of the box", and as weird as the cuts may be, each garment is easily workable into an existing wardrobe and will probably last you for seasons upon seasons upon seasons.... And did I mention the salespeople are courteous? They are all a little older than your typical hip WeHo crowd, but this is essential to the type of store Noodle Stories is. Although Noodle Stories may stock some of the most sought after designers such as Comme des Garcons and Margeila, their staff should consider working at Forever 21. I went in on a Sunday with two friends and was very polite to the salewoman who I then found out was the owner (even a worse representation of the store) and she looked at me and said in a rude tone, "do you need something?". I then replied, "oh you carry some of my favorite brands and designers!" she then walked away and went back to her cash wrap and ignored myself and my friends for the remainder of our visit. It's sad when you are genuinely excited to explore a store and buy something special and the staff treats you like the scum of the earth. Maybe Noodle Stories should take some "Customer Service 101" classes at a community college. read more

I love this store. The owner is friendly and helpful. And I end up keeping what I buy here and wearing it more than anything else. The clothes, shoes and the jewelry are gorgeous. I've bought a couple pairs of earrings here that I wore for years until one was lost. I should have kept the little rubber backing to the earring post! Many pieces are like collector's items, unique and beautifully crafted. read more

Even if I saw something I had to have and couldn't find anywhere else, I would NEVER go back to this store. The owner is incredibly rude! Perhaps she's just grouchy and set in her ways because she's really old, but at 6pm on the dot she escorted me out of the store, nearly pushing me! WTF? Mostly avant garde, yet some beautiful classic shirts that I've never seen elsewhere--linens and cottons.Plus, the softest cashmere sweaters, mostly Italian, I've ever felt. You will not find these clothes all over town and you will not find, as mentioned, leggings, sparkles, and logos. It has a sort of earthy chic look to it. These are clothes for adults. I've been shopping in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles all my life and this is by far my favorite clothing store. The clothing is sophisticated and high quality. Styles range from fairly conservative basics to very avant-garde pieces. C.C. is a very patient and tasteful salesperson, although all the staff is kind and friendly. They obviously believe in the clothes and wear them well. Wish I could live in this space :) I always pick up some memorable pieces at sale time. read more

I discovered this place last spring, when I bought a cute Japanese top and wound up wearing it constantly. It's great with all kinds of pants and skirts; when I amortize it, the price seems almost reasonable. Two days ago I went back and got three more pieces, all of which were expensive but should get me through the summer in style. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the reason I love NS is that I'm not likely to see these clothes on the street--they're produced in tiny quantities and too avant garde for most women (as well as too expensive). Having spent most of my life wearing safe, classic (and mass-produced) clothes, I finally reached a point where I didn't want to look like everyone else--and now I won't. Sure, I'll have to economize in other ways to afford them, but it's worth it. Btw, alterations are gratis. read more

Wonderful service, wonderful selection of impeccable clothing and accessories, open and airy space. A real gem in a city filled with xerox-status clothing stores. If Garcons and Margiela mean anything to you, pay this store a visit. It's for sure worth my trip from the valley. The owner knows how to buy and the selection is beautiful (especially if you like aforementioned designers) but I will not go into the store if I see her in there. She's that awful. read more
