Best place in the Peachtree Center. It may be a mall but it's really a food court. Noodle Cafe is about the only thing here that's not fast food. Also the food isn't bland. This is the only thing worth in there. Better than average fastly made Asian food. It has many typical items. There's noodles of course but much more too. Food has some actual flavor. They offer a few spice levels. I like the Hot Braised Tofu With Vegetables as a healthy choice. It's about $7 for a large portion. This comes with braised tofu and vegetables. It's a good price for as much as you get. The vegetables are seasoned without being just salty. It mostly is just carryout. Some tables are available in the food court. Noodle Cafe is a small Asian food court stall located inside the Mall at Peachtree Center. While "noodle" is in the name, that's not the only food this eatery serves. Like other Asian food court stalls, Noodle Cafe has a selection of pre-cooked Asian foods ready to be served off a hot buffet line. There are a few of these types of restaurants inside the Mall at Peachtree Center, but I think Noodle Cafe may be the best because their food seems to be the freshest and highest quality, relatively speaking of course. Noodles served include pad Thai noodles, su mein noodles, noodles stir-fried with proteins such as chicken, shrimp, squid, and beef, and Singapore noodles. They have noodle soups such as Thai tom yum seafood noodle soup and Vietnamese pho. Examples of non-noodle options include Thai spicy chicken, red curry chicken, sesame chicken, hot braised tofu, eggplant, mushrooms, and stir-fried string beans. I think these selections are comparatively healthier than the cafe's intra-mall competition. Prices for most entrees range from $6.25 to $8.25 (plus tax). I tried a $6.25 lunch special which nets rice or noodles plus any two entrees. One thing I like about this place is the noodles on the hot bar are pad Thai noodles, not run-of-the-mill lo mein noodles. The pad Thai comes with bean sprouts, thinly sliced carrots, and cilantro. I had the pad Thai noodles with stir-fried eggplant and red curry chicken. During my visit, all of the foods had just been cooked and looked quite appetizing. The light purple eggplant was glistening. It sat in a light brown garlic sauce with bits of red chili pepper. The pieces of red curry chicken were lean and came with green bell pepper and red chili. It was a quick, filling, and rather satisfying food court meal. The portion size on the noodles and eggplant was generous. Everything was piping hot and served directly into a disposable Styrofoam box. I like the staff here compared to the other places. They're more personable. A table is set up next to the register with napkins, condiments (e.g. soy sauce), plastic cutlery, wooden chopsticks, straws, and a metal canister filled with ice water. If you're looking for something a bit different than the usual Chinese food court fare, Noodle Cafe is a solid alternative. read more

The line gets pretty long around noon, so it's better to come early or later if you don't want to wait. If you want to order noodle soup, the wait is longer than the regular food line since each soup is made to order. Instead of waiting on the regular line on the right side, you'll have to squeeze in your order on the left side with the cashier. Sometimes there's already a short soup line in front of the cashier to place your soup order. If you're not ordering soup, then the regular food line moves pretty quickly. You pick the items you want and pay for it. Chicken Noodle Soup (made spicy unless you specify not to) $8 - It's pretty spicy if you go with the spicy option, so you might want to add your own hot sauce if you're not sure you can handle the heat. The ingredients are fresh and comes with tons of chicken, bok choy, onion and carrots. The noodles are thick rice noodles. General Tso Chicken was pretty good. I got it with a side of rice and mixed vegetables for $7. Pot Stickers 2 for $1 - These pot stickers were meat stuffed and deep fried. read more

I considered giving Noodle Cafe only one star, but then thought that being a bit unfair. Plus I worry that Sara M would unfriend me if I did. This is a Dragon*Con visit, around 6-ish on a Saturday. There was a line but not a long one, so I arrived at the counter in short order. Before getting there, all I had to go on in terms of options was the menu placed fairly high and mostly out of view until I got closer to the counter. Well, that was a waste of time anyway. You order whatever they have ready and you won't know that until you get close. After the helpful gentleman behind the counter waved off my first two choices (one off the aforementioned menu, one based on the signs under the counter), I selected noodles with 'spicy' thai chicken and eggplant. During this interaction, he also pointed to a sign that said something about the lunch special. Not sure how that was relevant, it not being lunchtime. Next stop was paying. Another helpful but younger gentleman asked me what I ordered so he could ring me up. Rather than guess what he wanted me to say - noodles with meat & vegetable?, specifically what meat and vegetable? - I just pointed to the box he had in front of him and said 'whatever's in there'. He opened it and rang it up pronto. Why not do that in the first place? The scene was a bit hectic (Dragon*Con) after all. So, my impression is that they could use a little organization behind the counter. But no big deal, even if I really didn't get what I wanted. The food: terrible. Chicken was tasteless, not a hint of spiciness and riddled with bad cuts. The eggplant was somehow even more tasteless than the chicken and cooked to the point of being almost a fluid. The noodles were also bland. Only liberal amounts of soy and sriracha made the whole meal palatable. I actually considered dumping it and getting something from another vendor, but I was on a schedule. Maybe I ordered the wrong items. I'd actually give this place another try, ordering something different. After all, Sara M splashes five stars on the place. Must be something to it. But my visit was not good at all. read more

There is something about this soup that will clean things out. About half way in, my nose started running and it's like my sinuses were being reset. I didn't mind but it's an interesting phenomenon. I work in the building that Noodle Cafe is located in, and I'm incredibly surprised at the longevity of this restaurant compared to some of the other tenants that have come and gone. So this is clearly a hole in the wall, so keep your expectations low. With that being said, it fell far below my expectations. I got the lunch special with Sesame chicken and Thai Spicy chicken with fried rice today. The Thai Spicy chicken was rubbery, gristly, and almost unedible. I had to constantly spit out pieces that I couldn't chew. The sesame chicken on the other hand was only decent at best. Thai fix complete for week. Noodle Cafe is one of the smallest stalls on the food court. It is also easy to walk by and not even notice it. However, their small size means they keep favorites on their buffet line. The rate at which people order from the buffet line means dishes are prepared continuously so taste stay high. What I appreciate is the non-fried dishes/vegetables that are available. My second visit and it went really smooth. I was eating late so I did not have to wait in line. Take out is the only option. Surprise find in a half open food court; with so many businesses closed its tough to find something satisfying and tasty on a lunch break. I gave Noodle Cafe a try and I'm so glad I did. Opted for the red curry chicken and was not let down at all. Plenty of chicken and vegetables in a spicy curry gravy. While a little thinner than sauces from other Thai restaurants, it was very flavorful. I'm only disappointed in my not taking a photo of it to post here. Quick, efficient service and reasonably priced for the area. If future experiences continue to match this, I'd bump this rating up to five stars. read more

Noodle Cafe is a tiny place inside the food court of Peachtree Center. It's so tiny, you might miss it. The setup is pretty standard. You go in, pick your noodles, and your 2-3 sides. It's like the burbon chicken place, the Chinese food place, and the myriad of other similar places at mall food courts where you choose your grilled chicken chunks, your sides, and your carb. I had the Pad Thai with eggrolls and dumplings as my side. The eggrolls and dumplings were your standard ones you see everywhere. They were fine. The Pad Thai was okay. It wasn't as flavorful as other proper-Thai places. But it satisfied. They are cheap and if you want something other than fried rice and lo-mein, try this place out. read more

This place needs to get some love! And some help marketing themselves! Even though they are in a food court, they are tucked behind a staircase and elevator. You can't see the menu. If there are 3 people there, you can't see the food. It's like they don't want eat there. But move on up and check it out. Amongst the generic, fake American Chinese food, the other over-fried crapola, and a few chains, this little unassuming place is my go-to in this food court. They've always got some veggies (fried green beans, or eggplant), and the red curry is light and tasty. It's a great place to get some real flavor without eating the same sugary-sauced, deep-fried mystery meat you find everywhere else. If you want, they hav braised tofu, and pho, but I can't vouch for that yet. read more

I've been working at Peachtree Center since March and am still learning the ins and outs of its food court. Noodle Cafe is an in FOR SURE. Its very little, and sort of tucked away, between and stairway and an elevator and behind the shoeshine guy. But if you just ask the guard or whatever, I'm sure they would direct you to it and its yummy and worth it. Their lunch special is two meats with rice or thai noodles. I've been burnt by the "noodle" option at other places where it ends up being straight up spaghetti, but these are really good, perfectly cook pad thai-esque noodles. And, once you are done, there's no puddles of grease left behind, like with some other take outs I have tried. The red curry chicken is really fresh and just a bit of spice in the coconut milk sauce. The soups are really chock full of veggies and other goodness and you get, like seriously, a BUCKET of soup for six bucks. Oh, and the reviews below mention a limited drink selection - they have a wierd/limited display of bottles on the counter, but you they have a coke machine in the back that has coke/diet/sprite/etc. Not included in the lunch special ($5.50 plus tax), but can be easier than shop hopping for a drink. I like to try to give the smaller, indepently owned shops in the food court my lunch money, as opposed to Subway and DQ and Chik-fil-A (not there's anything wrong with those places if that's your preference)! read more

I eat at Noodle Cafe at least once a week. I love the food and have found myself occasionally craving their chicken curry. The ladies behind the counter are super nice. So why shouldn't I eat here so often? One of my co-workers has been coming here for years and swears by this place. Well, she converted me, that's for sure! Their lunch special is noodles or rice and two entrees for $5.99. They always have the chicken curry. Careful! Some days it's spicier than others. And it can get fairly spicy. Other choices include General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken, sauteed green beans, steamed veggies, tofu or eggplant with sauce and veggies, potstickers, and egg rolls. If they have the meatballs and veggies dish, GET IT. Those meatballs are so good. If they don't have it, I usually just get the steamed veggies. They also offer soups, which I am always tempted to try but I can never not get the curry. They seem to be pretty popular, though, because there is usually at least one person waiting to the side as it's prepared. To find this little spot, you need to walk past a bunch of other food options, most of them mediocre to just plain bad. Noodle Cafe is tucked away, next to the shoe shine station and an elevator. I was able to get both noodles and fried rice (half/half). The customer service was phenomenal. The food was so flavorful, I ate everything on my plate. Peachtree Center food court has several offerings, and this place is tucked away in the corner, behind the shoe shine stand, and across from the Dairy Queen. When I first saw it, I wondered how so small a place could be worth checking out. But after my first experience, I was definitely glad I took a chance on it. Their lunch special is two entrees and a side for $5.99, and they'll pile it on so you'll have plenty to eat. The first time I went, I decided to go for the General Tso chicken. I order General Tso chicken often when I order Chinese food, but most times it's not all that spicy. However, Noodle Cafe does General Tso chicken right.! The sauce is more like a glaze, is not overly sweet, and it is certainly spicy! Red pepper flakes are coated randomly on the chicken, but there will be a couple of those whole, tiny, nuclear red peppers stirred into the mix. I've also gotten their pot stickers, 10 for $5.25, and those were deep-fried to the right consistency, not too soft or hard. I had a co-worker come with me to try out the place, and he ordered the red curry chicken, which he raved about, so I imagine that's a positive. All in all, definitely worth bypassing the Chik-Fil-A and the DQ if you're craving spicy food. read more

The worst kept secret in this food court is the fried rice at The Noodle Cafe. When you see a big group of people just hanging around waiting, this is what they're waiting for. Each one is made to order, with fresh basil and a nice level of heat if you ask for it. That being said, the chicken, if you add it to your fried rice, is bland and overcooked, so I highly suggest going the egg or tofu route. read more

Their vegetable noodle soup is excellent - it has real vegetables (bok choy, carrots, etc) and wonderful noodles along with a spicy soup that is just right. Call and order before you walk over since soup usually takes 10 minutes to make. My only beef with this place is the price. $7? Really??? Noodle soups are cheaper in MANHATTAN. For a vegetable soup I would really hope it would be closer to $5-$6. Anyways, I will come here when I want to spurge on lunch and really want noodle soup. It pays to note that I give the place four stars not because it's the best Thai I ever had, but because it is excellent for what it is- a wee tiny counter in a food court that offers a bit of a change from fried chicken and french fries. I invariably order the same thing now, though in past years I've experimented with the various dishes. I find the noodles, covered in curry chicken, and with a side of the green beans to be delicious, a bit spicy, and pleasantly balanced as a meal. Was able to try their tofu lettuce wraps and vegetable fried rice bowls which they gave to us in large portions that we could all share. The food was great. We love eating outside on their patio which is also Wi-Fi friendly. The waitress was very helpful and keep us stocked with waters, duck sauce and chop sticks for the girls. The atmosphere is very laid back and there was a young lady playing a guitar live in front of one of the restaurants next door, which worked well with the fountains and keeping the vibe entertaining. First off, I give them 3 stars because I've had their other food and it was O.K. Today, I wanted to try their pho as I absolutely love pho and other reviewers said their pho was great. Well, I tried the pho today and was miserably disappointed. Let's start with the broth. The broth had absolutely NO taste and was a bit salty. It actually tasted like it came from either bouillon cubes or from a can. The noodles were pad thai noodles - not the thin rice noodles found in traditional pho. No basil, no bean sprouts. Instead, it had baby fennel. FENNEL! If you like Campbell's beef bouillon soup with a few slices of beef, bland flavorless noodles, and baby fennel then you'll enjoy this soup. 'Scuse me, but there is NO fennel in pho. There is cinamon, anise star, and a host of other spices that are used to make the broth that simply did not show up today. In short, the only reason I ate the soup was because I was hungry. I did not like it. I had to get a shake from Chick Fil A to get the taste out of my mouth. I seriously do not know what the other reviewers who liked their pho were eating at the time. If they thought that soup was good, they really should try the pho from a real vietnamese restaurant. Here is a good analogy, this restaurant's idea of pho is like cutting a hamburger patty up, putting it inside a piece of pita bread, adding some cabbage and brie cheese, and topping it with salsa and calling it a taco. read more

This is a cute little stall in the Peachtree Center food court. I got the Pad Thai, sesame chicken, and eggplant. I think the eggplant was the best part of the meal, surprisingly, because I was initially drawn to this place for the noodles (since, the name of the place). I think this was a serious case of trying to do everything (Thai, Chinese, and Korean), but instead of doing anything very well, winding up with kind of a mediocre mix. We were in Atlanta for the week and needed a place for lunch. I read the other reviews about the noodle place and our it in my list of good eats while here. The noodle place only stays open until 3pm so there's that. We tried it for lunch as they had a $6.00 lunch special. Noodles or rice and two sides we shared dumplings and sesame chicken with noodles. For A total of $7.00 we both had enough food which was tasty too. The service was great as well as it was our first time and we were holding up the line for the lunch rush. A hole-in-the-wall place in Peachtree Center's food court. They were crushed with Dragoncon but the line moved quickly, we got our orders without fuss and had hearty servings that were good. They don't really even give you a chance to browse the menu board before pushing the "lunch special" on you as soon as you walk up to the small hidden counter in the food court. The lunch special is around $6 for two items served with rice or noodles. The red chicken curry is good.. definitely not the best I've had and if you like spicy curry.. you will need to add sriracha to this one, but the coconut milk and flavor of spices is there. The sauteed green beans are pretty good too. The fried items look like your typical general tso's and sesame, I've never tried them as I try to stay away from the "falling asleep at my desk post-lunch" heavy items. read more

Very good for food court food! My boyfriend works in the Peachtree Center and we just happened to stumble upon this place while in search of a quick lunch. Definitely not authentic Thai food or anything, but pretty good flavor and delightfully cheap-- you can get a plate of 2 entrees and either rice or noodles for just over 5 bucks. And, as it turns out, if you select noodles, they actually give you the Pad Thai noodles. Again, not the most authentic Pad Thai, but still tasty and far better than the plain noodles I was expecting. I also appreciate that the Spicy Chicken was actually kind of spicy. The only major downside is that they have a very limited drink selection. All I really saw was bottled water and I think a few of those weird juice tea things (Fuze maybe?), so I ended up getting a drink elsewhere. I guess it's always possible that there were more drinks and I just didn't see them.... maybe someone can help me on that? read more
