Got to try this food stand at the Farmer's Market at Kaiser in Woodland Hills. I got an order of dumplings and it was $10 for 10 small dumplings. I thought it was a little steep. I asked if I could have the dill and cream on the side and they said they were already served on the side. Perfect! Unfortunately when I got my dumplings they were completely covered in dill. Since the dumplings were a little moist, it was impossible to pick off. It was convenient how fast the dumplings were ready, however the consistency of the dumpling wasn't what I expected. I know they are European style so I did expect it to be a little different, but the dumplings weren't completely filled with meat. I took a bite and the little ball of meat inside just fell out of the wrapping. I wasn't super impressed honestly. However, I'm giving it 4 starts because they seem to be known for their crêpes, so I would give them another shot. I wouldn't order the dumplings again.

We come to this Farmers Market for the fantastic Crepes. We love the Ham and Gruyere Cheese Crepe. It takes us back to Paris at the base of the Eiffel Tower. Bon Apetit!

Delicious crepes at the farmer's market! Put your order in then go walk around for a bit. Your crepe will be ready when you get back!

Making Crepes

Best crepes in LA. Woke up to just get here! We typically go for the ham/gruyere. Reminds our family of the crepes in Paris!

I went on Saturday and waited over an hour. What's special is that you can sign up for the event and get 20% off all products, which is rare for the Korean cosmetics line because they usually don't go on sale. For this special event, they have a limited edition line of tinted sunscreens that come in various shades, so you can color-match your skin with the various samples. It was hard for me to find the right one initially, but I went with the Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen MP200, which has a pink undertone. You'll notice the second letter of the item will have a 'P' or 'N'; 'P' stands for pink, and 'N' stands for Neutral. The pink undertone works better for me. So once you get in the store, you'll be given a program/booklet. You'll want to write your name and the last four digits of your phone number, and in the program, it'll have the products, and you can list the quantity of each product you want. You give your booklet to the team members, and they'll call you when they're ready. The event has a rice bar with rice treats and a photo booth. The space is small, but you can chat with the representatives to learn more about the various products. Their most popular product is the TikTok viral sunscreen, but due to FDA regulations, the Korean version can't be sold in the States. So Beauty of Joseon had to pivot and create a new sunscreen, so check it. It was pretty good, but overall, it was a cool event!

The place was well decorated and they offered yummy free Korean treats such as unlimited pink sikhye, peppero, and Yakgwa. I loved how they had all their skincare products out for you to sample with workers that gave you a full on review on the products. They also had a fun Photo Booth where you got a picture and free skincare samples after! We bought two serums there and got 20% off on top by attending the pop up. Great event for learning new products and sampling in order to be better educated to buy!

I went with a couple of friends for dinner- we were around the area and thought it was an opportune time to show them a place they weren't familiar with! I've been here since I was a kid, and though some things changed, alot hasn't! This was during a world cup game, so it was very lively at pub areas as they were broadcasting live. Everyone was so invested, from the patrons, chefs, servers, and even line cooks! Went to a stall selling the 'best corned beef sandwich' from Magee's kitchen. The servers and cook were super nice and the corned beef on display made my mouth water! It was very good, and paired with their blood orange soda, wasn't too heavy! It was a big enough sandwich that I took the other half home! I also got a cornbread muffin from Gumbo pot- which was good but a little dry. There's plenty of shade, though the area is mostly outdoors- lots of trees and buildings with covers and awnings. There's a fancy French market in there and plenty of eating options (though open hours vary). Come by this historic stop, walk through the Grove, and enjoy the hustle and bustle!

I will say that the parking situation is shared with the grove so it could get a little hectic. And the place can get really crowded.

I finally got to visit The Fleuria, and it was truly a treat. The Fleuria is Los Angeles's first…read moreromance book truck!!! It's a roaming gem that pops up around SoCal with a curated selection of love stories and bookish gifts - think books, stickers, hats, totes, bookmarks, etc!!! I first found Fleuria at The Coffee Bar in El Segundo during their birthday celebration (yes, the same day I visited the book truck and discovered a new favorite coffee shop!). Just seeing the truck/van made my morning between the pastel decorations, the smell of new books, and the promise of great new reads. Browsing through their books, I was impressed with the variety as there are more books than just romance. And, the prices? On par with independent bookstores. After my first visit, I also went with a friend to their book swap event at the Runway in Playa Vista which the owner of Fleuria had shared with me during my visit at The Coffee Bar. This experience was just as delightful! I got to meet fellow bookworms, chat about favorite books, trade books, and discover some titles I hadn't heard of before. The owner is seriously so sweet and genuine, full of warmth and love for the selection of books she curates. The Fleuria isn't just a truck selling books. I can tell the owner works to create a community in the process: A place where book lovers can gather, where books feel personal. Whether you're buying a book, swapping one, or just browsing for inspiration, The Fleuria feels cozy and special. So, if you love romance, or even just want something charmingly different, Fleuria is a must!!! I know I'll be keeping a close eye on their pop-ups and other bookish events!
