I called them because of the great review(I think some are from when Sue was across the street). Phone convo was great and I took my truck there. They installed my Trans(let's say Lance put it in and that was that). Picked up my truck drove home. I opened the hood to find my Trans lines cut, dangling around and leaking Trans fluid all over the place. Installation was mediocre at best. My trans cooler was held on by the smallest loose Zip ties. About two extra feet of hose on both sides hanging and clamps on Trans line... NO FLARE. Trans leaking at the yoke..... fast forward to two weeks ago. Brought my truck in 9-08-2026 for the leak that was there when they installed it. They said it was dry and no leak. I begged them to look inside the Tail Shaft housing to see if there was a messed up Yoke Seal.... That's when they threw the "we're the experts" line and we got into an argument. They charged me $375 for warranty work and they NEVER checked the Yoke seal like I asked 9-11-2026. I was P-d off so Monday, 9-14-2026, I called the Trans company and told them my situation.... And what do you know... The Trans Manufacturer told me that MY Transmission is missing...the YOKE SEAL that the S&L Tech knew nothing about, and didn't check like I asked. Trans company sent out the part that I needed and Trans fluid, got it Wednesday 9-16-2026. Trans Company also said take it to a BETTER, CERTIFIED Trans shop. In MY experience it was Shade Tree with a shop. You would get better results going to your local High School shop class. I know there will be a rebuttal.... but I have Receipts...Yes Receipts, Pictures, Videos, Emails some recorded phone convos and a messed up oil stained Driveway that yall can come look at in real time.... today is 9-20-2026...... Avoid this place.

He recently talked to me about a potential oil consumption issue, told me what I should consider doing about it and when I returned for my next service, he asked about what I had found out, what the dealer had done and was truly concerned for my well-being. It takes me 45 minutes to drive to IA but it is worth the time, effort and money. I take my car AND my husband's car there and will continue to do so in the future.

A mechanic performed work on my car, apparently took my car for a test drive, and I was told that my car stalled out and it will not turn back on. After months of being lied to about the status of car, I decided to take a trip over to the shop, and I saw that the head on my Mercedes CL-600 was missing. Another mechanic, and the shop manager, told me that my engine cylinder walls were seized. I can't ask the mechanic who worked on my car any questions on what happened, because the mechanic quit! My assumption is that the mechanic took my car for a test drive, and did not add any oil to the engine, therefore destroying the motor. I had to remind the shop that you are responsible for my vehicle. At first, the shop did not want to accept responsibility. I had a telephone conversation with John Choken, attempting to come to a resolution. John informed me that "He" will source a replacement engine and will have a mechanic that he trust at his shop perform the installation. I told John that him and his team has done enough damage, and I want my vehicle taken to Mercedes for the necessary repairs. John begins to tell me that I have an outstanding bill on my Mercedes totaling over $5,000 for work that was done prior to his shop destroying the engine. I had to inform John Choken that the work, he alleges that was performed prior to my engine damage cannot be verified. The engine and associated hardware related to my car is destroyed. John agrees and said that he will void any charges associated with my car. When the shop initially told me that my car wouldn't start after the test drive, they informed me that my cars BCM went bad, I had my existing BCM repaired, $400.00 only to feel like a Jackass because the shop all along, knew that my engine was damaged. I have since hired an attorney and my vehicle is still at this shop parked outside, non-operational. Before you even consider going to this shop, please drive by and look at my car rotting away at this shop! Please Stay Away! If anyone out there vehicle was damaged by this shop, please let me know, I will be happy to share my lawyers information with you.

Not the tires, the condition of the interior or exterior, or any mechanical issues with the car, which they told me were all in surprisingly good shape for a car of its age -- it was the model year and the accident history, both of which I honestly reported on the online form and they could have viewed on the CarFax or AutoCheck reports. I recognize that dealerships can't give a final offer until they've appraised the vehicle. I do not understand why they can't give me an accurate, good-faith initial offer when I honestly disclosed the only factors bringing down the value at the very beginning.
