Coy was so amazing. Over here making me Gatorades!!! Really chill spot. Come and enjoy Coy's company!!!!!

I have to admit, I did not have high hopes for Nomad when I first saw it and boy was I ever wrong. Nomad is a different kind of Hookah Bar that from what some people are used to in places like Loudoun, Fairfax, and Arlington County where Hookah bars have become increasingly repugnant (crap interiors, appallingly pretentious sludge peddled as "high-end Middle Eastern cuisine", and of course the absolutely vitriolic coterie of people who linger all day long occupying tables thereby not allowing any new customers to enter - insufferable. Not Nomad - as it has a much more chill and relaxed kind of vibe. It's a small space occupying a historic 19th century building with no pretentious interiors - just beautifully exposed brick, simple and comfortable furniture, intimate late-night vibe with splashes of colorful lights illuminating the brickwork with R&B/Hiphop as a noticeable backdrop. Think of a much more toned down night-club minus the dancing and add the hookahs. And to that end, there are ample amounts of Hookah flavors to choose from (among them are popular flavors like 'Pink,' 'Two Apples,' and 'Bubble gum') and an extremely comfortable outdoor patio which make for a good time especially for those in the group who are not hookah enthusiasts. The drink options are plentiful and the service is outstanding - it has more or less our impromptu hangout spot post dinner on H Street. Also if you just want the hookah tobacco to take home, they also sell it there at a premium price. For a much better bargain on that, try going to one of the Ethiopian convenient stores on 7th Street NW in Shaw. read more

Best hookah spot on H St. Drinks are good, friendly staff. They keep the coals coming and the crowd is "pleasant".

I have come here a million times. Like really! Tuesday night, check. Thursday night, yep. Weekends, absolutely! But after last night, I will never go here again! Last night I came here with my friend and the bouncer and the owner acted a pure fool. I will never in my life come here again. I said that already right???? They wanted us to leave because we closed our tab out and they wanted to make space people for people, however there were people that were there before us. Like really, we weren't spending enough so you want us to leave???? I'm sorry, but we spent $80, and clearly that wasn't enough for two girls on a Friday night with a greedy owner. We were in mid conversation with the patrons to the left of us, talking, having a great time and the bouncer comes over and says our tab has been closed out for an hour and we have to go. Not only was that false, I still had red wine left, and my friend still had a bit of Jack, and we had just gotten a fresh coal for our hookah We talked to the manager/owner and one if the waitresses. He said we could stay, the bouncer had wrong information, blah blah blah. My friend was upset about how we were singled out, and went to get fresh air. The bouncer comes over a second later and says I can stay but she can't come back in, because she broke a sign??? What dude? I go to see what he's talking about, and to get my friend. One the sign was immediately behind the door, when she opened the door the sign fell, two she helped him pick the sign up, and apologized because she didn't see it, three he was gunning for us already. Neither one if us were drunk, neither one of us were rude, other people even came to our defense. SAVE YOUR $$$$, THERE ARE BETTER PLACES IN DC TO SMOKE HOOKAH ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. read more

Awesome hookahs, great music and overall very hip ambiance. In the summer there's a patio on the side of the building that allows you to people watch and remain apart of the H Street action. Mo and his female waitresses are the epitome of friendliness, welcoming spirits and fun. On Fridays and Saturdays, ensure to arrive early or it will be very difficult to find seating. Especially large parties. Enjoy! !! read more

Very nice lounge. Intimate and clean. Manager and staff was very attentive to everyone's needs. Hookah selections and drink specialties were on point. Will return for future visits. read more

I recently started coming to Nomads and it's been the best experience ever! When I come I am always greeted with smiles and positivity. I was recently served by Erica and she made the entire experience at Nomads similar to a breath of fresh air. She was very quick, knew what I wanted and the turn around time was fantastic. Erica was the best! I'd recommend this spot to anyone and everyone. read more

We had a great time here! Really chill place-- good number of people but not too crowded even on a Saturday night, our group sat outside on the patio and enjoyed some great people-watching. I'm told the hookah is good, the drinks were definitely good, and the service was great. read more

Although I'm not a smoker, I like to venture out and try new things. The hookah made me dizzy after a few puffs. I must say the drinks were awesome. Our waitress was very attentive. We came earlier in the evening. It was practically empty. The musical selection was very nice. Once the crowd arrived, it became very noisy. The patrons were a little young, 21-33. I prefer my 40 something crowd, but overall, I had a nice time. I'll definitely visit again but only when they first open. read more

Great experience at Nomad. It is one of the best on H st. The hookah was clean and smooth, the best I've tried in DC so far. It was my first visit with some friends. We enjoyed the drinks and friendly service. Will definitely be returning and trying there patio seating when it warms up. read more

I loved this place the moment I walked in, the cleanest hookah bar I've ever been too. I really like the vibe and the customer service is top notch. They also have a nice patio area, I can't wait until the weather warms up a bit. The tunes were just right for the setting and the DJ kept a nice change of pace. I will be making another visit really soon. read more

In the heart of the H Street scene, Nomad is a solid player in the Hookah arena. The place is smaller, but does have nice outdoor seating as well. Ambiance is well done, with a Moroccan type vibe. The menu is primarily smoking hookah and drinking alcohol (hence you will be carded by security, and they will turn you away, even if someone is obviously over 21 but without ID). If you're looking for food or tea to sip with your sheesha, this isn't the place. However, the sheesha itself is excellently packed - you can request fresh coals throughout. Our grape mint session lasted nearly 2 hours without any burning (we had three coal changes). You may have to wait outside on the weekends until your party is all arrived, and tables are available. The service is solid as well. read more

One of my favorite hookah spot in DC. It's at a great location especially that it's only a 10 minute drive from my house. I love the vibe and the music at Nomad It's a very small spot so it gets crowded very quickly, so if you want to go there and not wait in line for hours and find a seat I suggest you go around 8 PM on a weekend. The hookahs are pretty good as well, they actually offer one with a liquor base instead of water ($10 extra) if that's your mojo. Mon-Thur the hookahs are priced at $19.95 and $27.95 on weekends. Great variety of hookah flavors and drinks are reasonably priced as well and beers are $5.95. If you are looking for a good time, good music and good vibes I suggest you go to Nomad. Love it! P.S. After an hour, they charge you again... read more

Best hookah i ever had, and ive been to a lot of hookah lounges! Ask for D and B when you come by...Great spot

Dropped by on a random Wednesday night. Hookah prices were decent for a Wednesday. $20.00. The price was Monday - Thursday. The sitting outside was nice because of the weather. Inside nomad looks like a nice chill spot. Not a huge place but it's very cute and the music was good. Not as 'live' as chi cha lounge but definitely a good spot for a date or more intimate chill area. I did not try any food but bottled waters were $3 and beer was $6. read more

Favorite hookah spot in D.C. The hookah is great and decently priced, the waitresses are attentive, and the music is good (R&B and hip hop for the most part). The reason why I took off a star is because the place is very small... so small that on busy nights there is a line outside as there is no room to stand inside. You can't even enter the building if there isn't a table or seat at the bar available. Also, they don't take reservations so prepare to show up and hope for the best. Food is not served here so make plans to eat before or after. This was never an issue for me as there are plenty of restaurants on H street. read more

Kool spot to gather compared to hookah spot in college park... surprised how small it was..lol but it's a cute spot to come with friends.. it's not a good place for conversation really cause it's loud.. but it's kool read more

Nomad is my new favorite hookah spot!!! I had the pleasure of celebrating my 30th bday and my friend's 33rd birthday at this spot. I was greeted politely and with a huge smile by security at the door. Then, my friends and I were seated, eventhough we didnt have reservations and it was packed. Every five minutes, the kind staff asked, if we were okay. The intimate environment allowed us to make new friends with the people seated by us. Our waitress, D, was fucking Dope!!!!! She really made our experience great. When you visit, ask for D. I look forward to nomad being my every friday night spot. FYI - this place was so great, I created a yelp account to write about it. #thankmelater #catchmeonafridaynightwithmynaturalhair #funthingsindc read more

Service was great! As soon as we came in we were seating right away and helped. Our waitress Danielle was very attentive :)

Just left. Had an amazing time. Had the double apple and mint. Wonderful customer service, free shots and delicious hookah. A+. We will be back tomorrow. read more

I like Nomad, it is a small cute comfy place. My server was very polite. Keep in mind that they do not serve food here so come with a mission to get food after or eat before. I got there around 10-stayed until they closed and got food after at H&Pizza less than a block away. They have a few TV's mounted on the walls and the music is just fine for the ambiance. I remember hearing 90's and some recent tunes. 4 stars because they don't serve food. read more

This was one of my favorite places on H Street, as such, I decided to come here with some friends to celebrate my engagement. We sat on the patio and after spending close to $500 among 4 people we were very disappointed with their security. He was rude, discriminatory against a close friend, and made me regret my decision to patron Nomads. I will never visit this place again as long as he works there. I edited my review to 4 stars from my previous 1 star because of Nomads customer service and follow-up to my complaint. The owner followed up directly to rectify the situation. read more

This is a small place but it's comfortable for a smaller group. I wouldn't go with more than 3 people. It was two of us and we were comfortable. The service was quick and friendly. We got our hookah and waters. There was more than enough for us. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the music. There was security at the door who checked IDs and kept the inside from getting too packed. There is an outside area as well. I would go back and recommend this place to others. read more

Very accommodating staff, and very nice. However, when sitting outside, be prepared to get heckled/bothered by a lot of solicitors...or odd, bizarre characters. read more

Great new addition to the H St neighborhood. Great hookah, great drinks, great service. I heard they are opening a large patio area for the summer, that will make this place a weekend staple. Fun, relaxed, loungey vibe that is hard to find in the area, a nice change of pace, highly recommended. read more

This place is one of the first Hookah bars in the city to use Starbuzz tobacco and it's the best. My go to mixture is Blue Mist & orange. Try it. Only reason this place doesn't get a fifth star is because there is no food. read more

This place has amazing service. Everyone we interacted with during our time here- door man, hostess, servers, bartender- were friendly, professional, and courteous. Nomad hadn't been our original plan for the night, but we are so glad we came. read more

This has been the best hookah spot. It has friendly service and the staff knows how to properly handle hookah. I am a loyal fan!!!

First time here this past weekend and we enjoyed ourselves. There was a small wait but the security and employees were friendly, the music is good, coals refreshed in a timely manner and the ambiance is lovely( dim lighting, stool or booth seating and it's very cozy) . I look forward to hookah here again soon. read more

I stopped in with a friend on Saturday night around 11pm. Guy at the front door checks ID and I tell him we wanna sit outside. Kool. We get sat outside. Brittany was our server and she was great, but two stars off because we are out there chillin with the hookah action and some beverages (no folks, no henn and ginger ale tonight, I felt more of a 'hennessy neat' session)...anyway, we chillin and out of nowhere, a guy that works there comes and takes the hookah and says "times up, we're closing the patio". Da fuq is THAT shit?????? We didnt get a precursory before sitting outside, and I did tell Brittany that it was my first time checking that spot out. Yall know people was out enjoying the hookah, if you have some kind of "close down time" for the patio, you need to let the patrons know beforehand...atleast I got about 30minutes in...these other fellas came out about 10min before they started abducting the hookahs...even the delivery was like "fuck yall, we takin these joints". And I dont usually use so much profanity, but that really killed the vibe... I would come back, but just earlier so I dont get Dee-bo-ed for my hookah. read more
