I have been to The Habit more than a handful of times and it has to be one of my favorite coffee…read morespots in Thunder Bay. I love the quaint aesthetic and furniture, the ample seating, the friendly baristas, the inviting atmosphere, the drinks, and the baked goods. The croissants (Saturdays only) and the blueberry ginger loaf (gluten free) are TO DIE FOR. Seriously, so yummy, I didn't even know the loaf was gluten-free the first time I got it.. I would love to know the recipe! As for their drinks, I usually get an Americano which is consistently good. But I've also gotten a latte and mocha (made with real chocolate) before and they were also wonderful. Best of all, all proceeds from their sales go towards supporting the women's shelter. I love supporting this business.

What's extra cool is that it's inside a beautiful church with beautiful stained glass windows and the employees are actually volunteers who give their time and the profits go to the church to be used for the community (apparently they're building a youth community center in town). I don't go to church, but it was so peaceful being there. It's definitely an experience--not your typical coffeeshop visit. I wish we had a church-coffeeshop-bakery all in one where I live. My only complaint is, okay two actually: 1) have a plastic lid that covers your baked goods from the flies 2) please don't play the same playlist--even if it was pretty music--every day; I was there every day for a week and was almost going out of my mind, haha.
