This new Korean-fusion cafe across from the McWhirter's building is promising. It's light and bright inside and newly fitted out. The morning I visited the k-pop karaoke machine in the corner was thumping out tunes a little loud, especially since I was the only customer. The menu features breakfast and brunch staples like acãi bowls and eggs benedict but also a couple of unique items such as red velvet waffles (which I didn't have the courage to try as I'm trying to eat healthy). Coffees are 7.5/10 (easy-drinking blend, made a little too hot but lattes and flat whites served Melbourne style, in a glass, which I like).
I was actually there to test a new customer loyalty technology called Birdee (http://birdee.solutions) built by a friend of mine. But unfortunately the sole staff member on duty didn't appear to use it. Maybe they haven't been trained on it yet? Anyway, I hope it will mean that when I come back, the tech will recognise me by my face and prompt the staff to greet me by name and suggest my regular choices. We're living in the future! read more
