Unreliable and snarky. I ordered my bridal bouquet from them (in person), sent my aunt to pick up the bouquet the day of the wedding - and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed until Tuesday for an off-site event. A bride's worst nightmare. We had to scramble and ask a family member to make a bouquet out of random flowers. We tried everything to reach them - even Instagram - but no response. When I called Tuesday morning to ask what happened - they said "We told you to pick up your bouquet before noon." I don't remember them saying that - but ok, even if they did - couldn't they have called me on my cell - tracked me down - left a message. When they locked up on Saturday afternoon, did that not occur to anyone? I was told Ms. D (not using her name) tried to call you - and I checked and the only calls were my frantic calls to try to locate my bouquet an hour before the ceremony. Even if Ms. D called (which after triple checking, she did not), why wouldn't she leave a message? No staff to deliver the bouquet? No problem. Take it to your off-site event and I'll send an Uber or a family member to pick up my bouquet. Yes, they apologized - then they said you wouldn't believe the number of people who forget to pick up their flowers. What?!?! Then he hung up on me. Wow. This business is a poor addition to the the retail/residential community in this area of uptown. I am a homeowner, paying exorbitant property taxes/home owners insurance, and am tired of dealing with this business and it's "entitled" behavior. Street parking is in short supply and is shared by many retail establishments/home owners on a daily basis. This business treats public street parking as if it was dedicated to their use alone, often using their vehicles to occupy multiple spaces incompletely in effect "holding" spaces for their vehicles. On more than one occasion I have had to deal with their rude employees while attempting to patronize the neighboring businesses. On one occasion, several months ago, I was "blocked" into my legal parking space by a very rude and aggressive florist's van driver who was angry that I parked in a space that they treat as their "personal property". Based upon the ~50% of customer reviews that express a 1 star ranking for floral services (8 out of 20 reviews) we would all be better of refusing to patronize this business in the hope that they might actually leave this neighborhood. read more

I was mother of the bride and my daughter's wedding was scheduled in New Orleans for June 2020. We signed a contract with NOLA Flora long before we ever heard the word COVID. In March of 2020 the wedding invitations had already been mailed and the wedding was planned and contracted for over 200 guests at a local church and indoor reception venue. There is no denying this contract with Nola Flora was non refundable and a big lesson learned on our end .... alway protect yourself from the unforeseeable. Nola Flora collected 11k from us on signing for a 50% deposit of the estimated floral budget for the wedding. When things shut down and it became obvious the June wedding would not be able to occur, we made the decision to reschedule to Dec 4, 2020. Nola Flora happily let us roll the contract to the Dec date with no problem. As Dec began to approach, it was still obvious the city mandates were not going to allow us to host the 200+ indoor wedding. At this point we made the hard decision to pull out of New Orleans and the wedding was reschedule for the spring of 2021 in Florida. Ashley, owner of NOLA Flora, was asked and was most willing to travel and fulfill the contract at the new Florida venue if her scheduling allowed. As you can imagine, many factors went into rescheduling and replanning the wedding. The date which we ultimately had to choose was not one on which NOLA Flora could travel. This was very understandable by us. At this point, we asked to be released from the contract. We asked Ashley if she would consider keeping 3k of the 11k as a payment for her time and the time she had spent on our design plan for the wedding that never occurred in New Orleans. We felt this to be a fair offer and had hoped she would see it that way. There was not going to be any flowers, goods or services delivered to us going forward by Nola Flora. Although Ashley was not legally required to return any portion of our monies, it was most disappointing to us that she chose to stick fully to the contract and not reach some sort of agreement with our family. It also can not be denied that our contracted indoor wedding was not allowed on the June 2020 or Dec 2020 dates as per New Orlean's city mandates imposed by mayor in her phased Covid reopening plan. This was by far our most disappointing experience with any vendor and none of the $11,000 was refunded. read more

I used Nola Flora for a delivery of roses to Shari V...birthday stuff. She's kind of a big deal. I googled uptown florist and this place came up. I've never stepped foot in the store. I set it up via email and phone. Abby made the process easy and assured me, they would take care of everything. Spoiler alert...they did. First off, excellent customer service. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant and accommodating. Second, the flowers were incredible. Shari V immediately recognized that these flowers were high quality roses. I've previously sent her flowers through online websites after buying a Groupon or something. Nola Flora was more expensive, but Shari V made many comments about how beautiful these roses were. She also commented on the nice filler stuff. I'm not sure what to call it, but it's like the filler flowers between the roses. Nola Flora handles their own delivery. This was important to me, because I wanted them delivered to her work, and Shari's place of business can be difficult to navigate. Talking to Nola Flora directly cut out any middleman, and they happen to be familiar with her work building. So it was no problem. More importantly, I had the peace of mind knowing that the delivery wouldn't be a problem. There is another bonus to them taking care of the delivery. They spruce up the arrangement when it gets dropped off. Shari V was convinced of this fact. She said the flowers were too perfect to have just gotten out of a delivery van. Last thing to mention. These flowers have lasted longer than any I've ordered in the past. It's been a week and they still look pretty darn good. I would highly recommend Nola Flora. He quoted me $90 for a dozen red roses, arranged in a vase which seemed a bit steep but I had heard great things about their arrangements, including that they use more exotic "filler flowers" for their arrangements. I picked them up a few days later and MY OH MY. The arrangement was HUGE. It probably weighed 15 pounds and was so full and large that it was difficult to maneuver to my car. They were ready when I arrived when the shop opened shortly after 10 am on a Saturday, and the woman working the front asked if I had time for her to change the bow on the vase as it wasn't "flashy" enough for the arrangement. The shop isn't open on Sundays (which was the date of the birthday girl's birthday this year) so I picked up Saturday morning. The arrangement lasted and looked just as lovely 24 hours later. We paid Nola Flora $4244.00 for flowers for our wedding in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 5, 2020. Unfortunately, our wedding could not take place due to restrictions from the COVID-19 outbreak. Logistically, postponing was too complicated for us to commit to, considering the unknown path of timeframe of COVID-19 and the economic uncertainty. We made it clear that we did not wish to postpone and would like our money refunded. The owner, Ashley, emailed us back basically citing a term in the contract specifically noting that that "wedding insurance is recommended". After that email, she has not responded back to me, and has blocked myself and my fiance from the NOLA FLORA social media accounts. I understand the stress that small businesses are under and I would have met halfway. I hired Nola Flora because I thought they were a business that cared about their customers. Instead she's kept ALL OF MY MONEY--for flowers that weren't even ordered. Imagine that? She should go donate the money to a food bank in my name if she doesn't want to return it to me. If you're BIPOC or having a multi-cultural wedding - DO NOT use this place. I had a Hindu ceremony and requested all red roses and florals for my backdrop and everything was white. White is used for funerals in my culture - but of course Nola Flora didn't care that they made a huge mistake and deeply offended my culture. We spent 15k on flowers and there definitely wasn't enough florals set up for that amount. Finally, they completely screwed up my bridal bouquet as I asked for it to be red roses with some loose cascading greenery. What showed up was the ugliest bouquet I've ever seen in my life. For context - my maid of honor and bridesmaids said the bouquet was shaped like male genitals. For all of these mistakes - the owner never said sorry and refunded us a measly $50 dollars. There are TONS of amazing florists in Nola who have prettier and more creative arrangements, are most cost-friendly and show you absolute respect when it comes to your big day and religious/cultural traditions. Working with NOLA FLORA for my wedding was a wonderful experience. I showed Ashley a few pictures of what I had in mind, and she instantly just *got* my vision and had ideas to make it even more special and unique (gold dusted berries?? yes please!). One of my very favorite moments on my wedding day was when the bouquets arrived to my hotel, and one of my bridesmaids came and showed me my bouquet while I was getting makeup done. It was absolute perfection....better than I ever imagined. The church arrangements and reception centerpieces were so beautiful as well. The company is so well loved throughout the city and brides...but no two bouquets or arrangements they do are alike! I love that mine were so unique. I find that when it comes to your wedding....even though you 100% love the day because it was special, you sometimes look back and wish you did a few things differently. Especially over the years as your tastes change.
