No, not for nails! My manicure by Donna did not seem very professional. I felt as though I was at a sleepover party, getting my nails done by a friend. She didn't wear gloves, barely filed my nails or push back cuticles. I had a split nail that I tried to repair with fiberglass wrap. She said my attempt to repair it was on pretty solid, so she didn't want to damage it further. Nails just didn't have that refined, polished, professional look that I was hoping for AND paying for. I've been seeing Kelly for the better part of a decade and travel an hour to have her cut my hair! Salon Noir has been open in Romeo for a few years now and the service is great (I'm never kept waiting) and the prices are on par. The atmosphere is upscale which always relaxes me and the staff is very attentive. Even though I have an iPhone, I never have to jot down my appointment in iCal -- they always call me the day before (where other salons have forgotten). A few times a year they have special parties and fundraisers. And for a nice surprise, they send you a coupon for a free service (like the eyebrow cleanup I always seem to need) for your birthday! I've been a bridesmaid in a few weddings this year and each time I've gone to get my hair done, I've absolutely despised it. I was a bridesmaid in another wedding this weekend and instead of going with the bride to her chosen salon, my sister-in-law and I decided to rebel and headed over to Salon Noir. ...and I couldn't be happier with our decision! Natalee did my hair, and I loved it more than my own wedding up-do! I showed her a few pictures of hairstyles I had found on Pinterest (woo hoo!) and she emulated exactly what I wanted. It was perfect! She also did a wonderful job with my clip in hair extensions. My sister-in-law looked fantastic as well. We both received compliments throughout the night about how fabulous our hair looked. And not to mention, the weather was over 80 degrees and it was HUMID. Our hair looked just as good at 1am as it did when we got it done at 10am that morning! Bravo! Noir Salon is a savior of a salon! The stylist are well trained and do great work!! I went to a different salon that is part of a beauty store chain to get my highlights touched up because they had a deal going and they didn't do what I asked for. They made my hair look bad and I had to call Noir to help me! The manager/ receptionist worked her magic to get me in and Becca and Natalie made my hair beautiful again! I've been going to Leah at Salon Noir for at least 7 years. Her cuts are great. . I used to be really addicted to getting my hair cut really precise and blunt on the ends and she was great at that. I've recently been growing out my hair and she's really good at just trimming it as well. The reason I keep coming back to Leah year after year? Her skills with color are consistent and gorgeous. She's very precise. When she uses the blow dryer she has this very precise way of sectioning your hair and blowing it dry in a meticulous way (which is the same way she applies color, actually). I highly recommend the entire staff. My husband loves the massage therapist, the owners of the salon are members of the community and they are wonderful people. From the person that greets you to the owners of the salon, the entire experience is great. My entire family gets their hair cut here. read more

New to the area and too far to get to my former salon, I took a chance as a "walk-in" to Salon Noir. The stress of the move took a toll on my hair and it was looking pretty shabby. I was welcomed like an old friend and introduced to Lea. She put me at ease and worked a miracle with the cut. A week later I returned for an appointment to color my hair. I'm pretty fussy but understood it might take a few tries. In the past it had taken my stylists upwards of 3-6 months to get the color right... not Lea....she has amazed me with an incredible transformation and I want to shout from mountain tops that Lea and Salon Noir absolutely rock! I have been going to this beautiful salon for a couple years and will never go anywhere else. I see Ashley S. and she is absolutely incredible. She has such an attention to detail and is truly an artist. I moved about 45 minutes away from the salon and I continue to make the drive to see Ashley because I can't imagine going anywhere else. I went in knowing that I wanted to get my hair lightened. I told the stylist Ashley what I wanted, but she told me she was only going to do highlights and a toner. However, it didn't turn out the way I wanted. Even after she was finishing my hair, I told her it wasn't lighter. She just told me it's a process to go lighter. The highlights didn't mask the red tone I specifically said I wanted out. Even family members didn't notice a change. I made an appointment to get it fixed, but the manager didn't tell me they were going to still charge me again to fix what the previous stylist didn't do correctly. I left because I wasn't going to give another huge payment for something I do not like. I left upset the first time and I left upset again because they wouldn't fix their stylist's mistake. read more

I've had a malibu and coloring done here and the experiences werent that great. the hair dresser I had never tried striking up a conversation so it was pretty uncomfortable silence. When i got my hair done I asked for the coloring of my roots as I wanted to go back but what I got was 6 shades darker and I was not happy. This place charged me over $130 to ombré my hair. I got a technician that hadn't ombréd hair before, and she used the wrong dye. Resulting in my ombré being only noticeable in extremely bright light. I was then rushed out the door, and when I got home I noticed my hair looked exactly the same as it did when I first went in. You couldn't even notice the ombré. So I made them a bad Facebook review and they offered for me to come in and correct the problem 2 days later. So they did, and my ombré looked great, but I wasn't offered a refund, or even a discount. I am very displeased I paid so much money to have such a shotty job done. Also, my hair almost immediately started breaking. My hair became very dead from having the dye done twice within a 2 day period. My hair was so dead that it would literally break when I ran my fingers through my hair. I ended up having to get my hair cut to get all the dead ends from breaking further. I won't ever go back here they are so unprofessional. Even though they fixed my hair, they should've done it right the first time, I ended up with a bad hair job either way. read more

I have been to many salons over the years. First of all, I am so blown away by the professionalism at this salon and the wonderful, friendly staff. It is always clean and immaculate as well. Alexis, the salon manager, is so personal with people and so inviting. You immediately feel welcome when entering the salon. Becka, one of the owners, always would address me and all others with a welcoming "hello" as well. It is the simple things that can make you feel so very welcome. So my story then goes on...I started getting great nail services from Donna and was always watching how Kelly did hair while I waited. She always did great job with her clients. I have been to many salons as stated and have struggled with finding someone who can colour properly and be gentle with my hair without ripping it out or working too fast. I have fine hair with some extensions to add volume. I decided to book an appointment with Kelly, who is also one of the owners of the salon and I have never been so happy with the result. She is so gentle with my extensions and so knowledgeable with colour. On top of it, a beautiful person both inside and out. I am so happy and relieved I finally found a stylist I am so pleased with.
