I hope I never have to stay anywhere else. Thank you so much, Sheila. Your home is like nothing else I've ever seen. Your unique style and taste permeate the home and your welcoming warmth is a boon to travelers. The hot breakfast was delicious and varied. Oh and don't miss the sumptuous garden! Thank you for creating your nest.

Why Knives? Do you guys clean???

Seriously feel like I got robbed $230 for One night?! My seven year old found bloody syringes in the room.. and knives So obviously they don't clean properly, the smoke alarm wasn't even attached The breakfast horrible and who wants salmon for breakfast. The owner is a nice lady, but this was the most horrible place I've ever stood at. It was dusty and stinky, I really wanted to like this place. . I should have stuck with a regular hotel.

We had a wonderful time staying in Shelia's gorgeous B&B. This 129 year old Victorian house is a breath of fresh air and a museum of its own. Shelia is a very gracious hostess and she went out of her way to be caring and loving. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the surrounding neighborhood is safe to walk around and explore. There are good restaurants to eat nearby. My boyfriend and I were there for Valentine's weekend and Shelia was in the spirit of Valentine's with all her decorations. The Venetian room was very clean and comfortable. We had so much fun. Thank you Shelia for a wonderful experience! We will return. ::)) Also, pet friendly. We were allowed to bring our small 16 lb. dog with us.

Is there air conditioning?

I don't know about all of the rooms, but there was AC in the room that I stayed in (The Celebrity Suite) on the very top floor, and I think there was also in the room that my friend stayed in (The View). It's not central AC - it's individually…

You can also easily walk or do mass transit to other places - I did a walk up to the Painted Ladies and then hung out a bit in the lower Haight and then easily walked back down to this area. The establishment also has a kitchen area so you can go pick up sundry and supplies at the local Trader Joe's (just 2 or 3 blocks away) if you want to limit how much you spend eating out (something I plan to do next time) and the kitchen has free tea and instant coffee so the basics if you want to ease into your day. If you want the full "bathroom in my room" sort of thing there are other places but this is my 2nd time here and it is still great - there are stairs and no elevator so keep that in mind but the price versus location is wonderful - if noise bothers you, then bring ear plugs for the weekend - not super loud but if you are not used to noise, it might keep you up a bit - but I've found it to be a super safe area - you can catch the Bart most of the way (to the civic center) and then you catch the 21 3 stops to this location. Do note, you don't have someone on staff there but available by text and you use a key app, that they notify the day you are checking in - which I think works well - it is nice to have an affordable way to get out of the heat in Phoenix, especially in the summer, and I'm not looking for a resort experience but a place to lay my head and keep my stuff while I go enjoy the sights and sounds, and amazing food and drink, of the local area.

COVID completely ruined this place and it seems like they're under new management because they have been completely unaccommodating. I booked under non-refundable and needed to change my dates of stay. When I rebooked, they charged me way more than the advertised price when I checked that same hour. When I asked about this price discrepancy, they just replied with "the prices change everyday". It's not even worth staying here anymore. The bathrooms aren't kept up as well, there's no front desk, and no breakfast spread. $535 for 3 nights vs the 410 that it was listed for? They're trying to take advantage of the fact that I booked non-refundable! I've been trying to get in contact with management and all I'm told is that management doesn't work at hours so I'd be unable to call the line. "Email them" is what I was told to do. It seems like they don't email back either. The Inn holds a lot of special memories for me but I will never go back.

The staff are local and friendly and amazing, and they did help solve some major problems for me. There is a small lounge with tea and coffee, along with a kitchen. This is the best hostel/shared bath place I have ever been to. And I have youth hosteled my way across the world. I highly recommend a stay here. However, you need to be aware this is not a five star hotel. The room is a basic accommodation--yet small and comfortable. There are shared baths, which when I came (October 25, 2022) were clean and well stocked. The bathrooms are very small and are at the end of the hallway. They were fine. You also need to know that this is NOT in any way handicap accessible. The front entrance is a flight of stairs--normal for San Francisco, steep and hard to climb anywhere else. Do NOT book this hotel if you need a wheelchair or if you have heavy luggage to lug up and down. Book in person and be prepared to use a mobile app cell phone key.

No AC in rooms, towels and bedsheets had stains about half the time, communal shower soaps/liquids were open to tampering, half the showers had wood floors rather than tile, bathrooms were tiny and cramped, sinks in showers had hand sanitizer at the sink rather than hand soap, the phone app they required for opening the doors never worked for my room door and I was trapped outside my room during check-in for half an hour late at night until I got a physical key after calling several times, the phone app key for the building entrance stopped working halfway through my stay resulting in me being stuck outside again for twenty minutes after calling again several times. On the plus side, the location was better than I expected.

Our day started with brunch, which blew us away. The service was calm and intentional, a great start to the day. It was hot out, but the misters kept us cool. We both participated in the Pick your own bouquet at $35. It came with a tall vase to fill, someone to explain the floral do's and dont's of the field, and a pair of shears to borrow for your duty. The paths between the flowers are dirt and grass, so bear in mind your footwear and attire when booking! This would be a perfect spot for families. Overall an incredible experience, being able to even walk the grounds was enough to make a good day, great.

The server told us they operate out of a food truck. So the menu is limited. But what they make is really good! We ordered the lemonade, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros divorciados, and the strawberry champagne sherbet. Service was very prompt! The actual menu in-person had a couple items that aren't on the sample menu including a couple more dessert options like fig ice cream. We really liked everything we tried! The portions were pretty good. If coming here for food I'd recommend getting here early since food trucks have limited capacity. You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

I read about bed bugs, about rooms smelling like pee, people being cold at night, etc etc. Well here's my review on it. The location of the parking structure wasn't the best. I've never been to a hotel where the parking isn't connected to the hotel. We also got there at 5 am and had to sleep in our car since check in time was at 1pm and woke up next to some homeless people shooting up heroin and fighting with each other. But back to the hotel part, when we finally got inside, the staff were really kind to us and cracked jokes and told us the rules. We respected the rules and agreed. When we got on the hotel, I won't lie, it was scary when it was going up but we only rode it once and decided to take the stairs. We were on the 2nd floor soo not too bad. We got the family suite which had a PRIVATE bathroom. The room was very spacious for us 4. I was thinking about the bed bug reviews on this place that I saw on them but I saw nothing, came home with NO bites like many people did. I took extra blankets since people said that it would be freezing at night. It was very warm in the rooms that I even used the thinner sheets they provided. I slept 9 1/2 hours and only woke up once to a strange noise, sounded like something banging pipes. Not very loud since I was able to sleep shortly after with it in the background. The rooms smelled perfectly fine. No pee smell! About the key situation, when you do leave to explore San Fran knowing you'll be coming back still, you had to leave your key with them, I honestly saw nothing strange about it, it was just one less thing I had to take care of! Out of my entire San Fran experience, the parking spot was what did bother me but other than that, would I come stay here again?? YES!!
