Located in Sea Cliff just below the Presido, it is quiet, safe, and a great location to enjoy San Francisco. Walking distance to a Muni stop on California St. Lots of quaint eateries near by. But best of all were our hosts. They made us welcome immediately, with breakfasts that add to the charm and warmth of this B&B, While not in Downtown or the tourist locations, it beats the big hotels for service and consideration for your reason to visit. On our next trip, we are going to consider staying at My Rosegarden first.

I was about to write a long complimentary review when it dawned on me that I might better impart to…read morereaders the essence of staying a few nights north of Lake street in this charming, beautiful, and super quiet house by simply including a text that I sent to a friend who was asking about my stay at the Rosegarden Guest House---it follows: I am back safe and rested after a good Kona nights sleep. The trip, although short, was filled with good stuff-- friends, stories, memories, and a super fantastic B&B experience. The Rosegarden Guest house in San Francisco was simply "Badass" or as the kids say "Frosty" in every regard. Incredible, I mean incredible hosts, pleasant fellow travelers who provided quixotic and pleasant conversations. The interior design and home decoration was very "time period dreamy" and done by the hosts in an almost professional manner. I stumbled onto a gem! In terms of an enjoyable place to stay while in San Francisco. My Reunion was everything one hopes for in those situations-- friendships renewed, memories revisited etc etc! I got to visit the old neighborhood which is nicer and better maintained than when I grew up there (with the exception of way too many parked cars) and that was heartwarming! I got to visit with my lifetime close friend Judy and her daughter Keila who is 8 months pregnant and that was sweet, moving and pleasant, I had the best Blueberry Pancakes of my life at a lunch in Sausalito --- what more can one hope for ? I will come over and we talk story about the trip! Aloha Dorn

Why not make a weekend of it? So I decided to stay at a hotel other than my usual and booked at the Inn at the Presidio. The Inn is charming, comfortable, and clean. The common areas were very cozy - it was a somewhat overcast to rainy weekend and was very cozy indoors. While I didn't partake of the wine tastings in the evening, I did enjoy the very nice continental breakfast in the morning. There are restaurants walkable from the Inn, one of which I enjoyed the first evening I arrived, and the walk from the Inn into the Marina neighborhood was an easy 20 minute stroll to restaurants and the Presidio Theatre, for an impromptu late afternoon after other plans went sideways. Staff were unfailingly professional and lovely, including quickly addressing one hiccup with my room. It was a fun, restorative weekend, and I plan to visit them again.

It's much smaller than the Lodge, and I liked that instead of a formal front desk counter, they have a more intimate set up in a side room, with someone sitting behind a desk and chairs for you to sit in while you check-in. Arcene was wonderful, explaining the hotel features and making us feel very welcome. The Inn is in a historic building and it is extremely well-built. The walls are thick, so you never hear your neighbors. We stayed in one of the suites, which has a separate seating area with a sofa bed - perfect if you're traveling with your kid. The seating area is quite spacious. The bathroom is big, as well. There's a Nespresso machine and bottled filtered water. Mini bar prices are surprisingly reasonable. They have wine and cheese every night from 5pm-7pm, including sparking pink lemonade for those not imbibing alcohol. Breakfast is also included - bread, cheese, meats, pastries, fruit, oatmeal, and hardboiled eggs, along with orange juice and grapefruit juice. There's a back patio area with a fire pit, so you can enjoy the outdoors. Parking is behind the Inn, closer than over at the Lodge. While there's no restaurant in the Inn, there are a couple of restaurants close by in the Presidio and sometimes there are food trucks around the grassy area. You can walk to the Marina, about a 20 minute walk to several good restaurants and shops. The Presidio Go shuttle takes you into downtown for free and leaves every half hour from the transit station. I love staying at the Presidio, to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The setting is gorgeous, and you can walk around the trails and down to the tunnel tops. Highly recommended!

From the outside, the SeaScape Inn looks like an old, not-so-great motel. But on the inside, it's spacious and nice. We were amazed at how big our room was and were happy to have a fridge, microwave, desk, and couch. We chose to stay here because of its location in the Outer Sunset neighborhood and it turned out to be a great experience. Loved being across the street from the beach! It was a short walk to the watercolor shop Case For Making where I was taking a class and close to wonderful cafes like Damnfine Coffee. We also loved walking a bit longer to get to Golden Gate Park to see the beautiful trees, flowers, and buffalo. Our three nights there were $115, $135, and $145 for a Thursday, Friday, Saturday. We also got free parking. An amazing buy for SF. You really can't beat that. Only drawback was the shower was powerful and hot for about 5 minutes then it got cold (!!!). It helped us conserve water, that's for sure, but we would have liked consistently hot water for 10+ minutes. I hope the management will work on that. Also there is no elevator and the rooms are up a flight of stairs. Not a problem for us, but if you need ADA accommodations, this is not the place. We had a great trip to SF and we'd stay at the SeaScape Inn again.

They also have a daily complimentary European breakfast and a 2 hr wine and cheese offering in the evening. The only negative was the surprise of a 16% daily national park surcharge fee, that I must have overlooked during booking. This makes for a pretty spendy stay. We were asked upon check-in if this was our 1st visit and when I said it was, the receptionist suggested that I visit the coffee/tea lounge while the GF checks us in. Talk about a nice spread for a coffee lounge and they served Equator Coffee (1 of my favs); I had time to put in a run in the fitness center before joining the GF for the wine reception. I did not expect the spread we walked into - finger sandwiches, fruits, cheese/crackers, veggies/dip, yogurt/parfait, I especially enjoyed the cucumber/smoked salmon bite, the cheese/charcuterie board, and the salsa and guacamole. The continental bfast was wonderful! The GF loved the omelette, berries, and crispy bacon from the kitchen grill while I am happy with oatmeal with nuts/fresh fruits but the spread was just unbelievable. My room could not have been peaceful and relaxing. The heated floor in the bathroom was perfect, the check-out gift bag was a wonderful touch.
