I own a boutique photography studio and want to run my business as effectively and efficiently as…read morepossible. This means outsourcing what I can't or won't do. For me, this is the bookkeeping. Enter Morris. He takes care of the things that send me into a tizzy - sales, expenses, taxes (note: he's not a CPA; I have someone else for that who works seamlessly with Morris). He is reliable, thorough, responsive, patient, organized, personable, and more useful than just balancing the books. He loves working with small businesses and he actually spends time helping you organize your numbers, process, and thoughts (his company can also help you with business plans). He charges monthly, not hourly, so I always feel like I can call or email him without racking up a bill. I am one of his smallest clients (he is the CFO for Metropolitan Bakery, among others) and feel like I get fantastic customer service. Basically, I just really, really trust him and that's after going through 4 CPAs, 1 financial advisor, and 2 bookkeepers in the last 5 years. When you're having someone deal with something as personal as your very own business, you understand how important it is to truly trust the guy who manages the numbers. I almost hesitate to write this review because I don't want to share his time with others but such service deserves as much business as it can get, especially because I know he wouldn't take on business that would hurt his current clients. Call him.

I have been using the south Philly office for my tax return filing for more than a decade. I always wanted to write something positive for this office but never get around to doing it. Now, I am writing it because I have been feeling guilty since the office had helped me so much. Besides doing my tax, they have referred me to other businesses that serve the Asian community in Philly. From those referrals, I have made many connections within the Asian communities to grow my business. I am always impressed and proud that the office staff speaks multiple languages. I, myself speak Chinese (Cantonese) and English, I also over heard Vietnamese and Mandarin spoken in the office.

I had to remind myself that I was in an accountants office because these guys were the ultimate chill guys. I felt as though I was talking to a freind over dinner; Chris genuinely cared about my situation and wanted give give me the best service possible. He also was interested in me as a person in general and not just another customer. I asked him a series of questions of different scenarios and he did not make me feel any less for asking. He patiently explained the process and did everything he could to make sure I would get the best possible outcome. Everything was taken care of on the spot. Really, do yourself a favor and go visit "the tax experts without the suits." They have the expertise and are looking out to give you the best possible resolution. These guys are so cool and down to earth that you'll forget you are in an accounting office. You will feel valued as a customer and as a human being.

They make getting your taxes done a little less painful. This is a family owned business that Mr. & Mrs. Travis run. If you decide to go, you will have to call and make and appointment. They don't take walk-in. I find the earlier in the year the better. If you wait till April, you may not get an appointment before the 15th. I like that they go over your taxes with you, explaining the mistakes you may be making on your taxes. Also love how they keep up with all the changes in the tax laws that are happening today. They are located on Germantown Ave. , in the Mt. Airy section of the city. There is only street parking, but I never had a problem finding a parking space. I feel their fees are competitively fair. I'm so glad we found them, and would recommend to others.

Being a homeowner, I was leary of the task and figured professional was the way to go. Those chain places scare me. H&R block should be shut down, they prey on people. Anyhoo, I was delightfully surprised at how professional and effecient the Travis' were. No shaddy questions, straight to the point, they explain everything. Pricing reasonable enough. Definitely not the $300 the chain places will charge you. Mind you, I only have one federal and state return to file. I have since learned they are a family business, which is nice, the personal touch of business is a thing of the past, but it is so necessary. I have been going to the Travis' every since and I am pleased. It is relieving to know that I will not be audited or risk jail time for the sake of a dime.

After weeks going by with no communication from him, someone from his team reached out on March 31 asking me for all of my information which was odd because he kept stressing that I needed to pay the invoice first. Not too big of a deal though at this point. I hear nothing else from him or his team (despite having reached out and receiving no response) until they provide my filing on April 17. With my filing, they provided a document with information on how much money I owed, to which agency I owed it, and how to pay it. They provided a payment plan with amounts and dates due to the bottom of this document. The first payment was listed as being due the very next day. I messaged him a little frustrated with his as he gave me no advance notice that I would need to make a payment the next day. To this, he responds that I have 60 days to submit a payment without penalty. Fast forward to June 11, I receive a letter from the IRS saying that I have not paid my amount in full and am being charged penalties. I was very confused since they laid out a payment plan for me. When I messaged Camari about this, his response was, "I didn't set up a payment arrangement for you with the IRS for your outstanding 2021 taxes. What I provided you with were estimated tax vouchers for your 2022 taxes. Paying these will help you to avoid oweing any taxes at the end of this year. You will still need to pay your 2021 taxes if you have not paid them yet." This is a complete lie and contrary to the document he provided. I know of others who have used their service this year and I know that Camari takes no accountability or integrity. He hasn't even bothered to respond to my follow up message. Do not use this service! It will cost you more money and stress if you do.
