BAS avoids having to track me down by emailing me an organizer. I just print the organizer, fill in the blanks once I have all of my W-2s and 1099s, sign it, and mail it back. My tax preparer magically makes sense of it all and emails me a confirmation and an invoice for services. A neatly bound summary of my tax forms arrives in the mail shortly after, and my refund appears in my bank account. If I owe, they'll send me an invoice for that as well. I had a little panic attack when I realized I hadn't had taxes taken out of some of my income. They called me back and assured me that everything was okay. We've taken care of that issue for next year, and all is well. Their fees are incredibly reasonable. A friend went to a local accountant and paid more than three times what I paid for my tax prep. I've found something good here, so I'll stick with it.
