It's been very disappointing and expensive and I wasn't offered a refund and had to follow up several times to even get it resolved. After two years of terrific service, the 2023 tax filing season was a very different, and…read moreunpleasant, experience. We returned all of our documents well ahead of their early-March deadline and, after I prodded them for confirmation of receipt, we heard nothing else. Several days before tax deadline, they sent a mass email to all clients suggesting that if we hadn't heard from them yet, they would file an extension. I reached out by email and phone--several times--the weeks before and following April 15, with no response or even confirmation of receipt of my communications. At that point, we had no confirmation that our tax documents were actually in their queue or that an extension had definitely been filed on our behalf. Frankford responded (via email) many days later and, while they acknowledged that this was a difficult year for them, they provided little to no proactive explanation of our taxes, nor did they review any of the returns with us. A week ago, we received a letter from the IRS that our taxes had been filed incorrectly. We understand that accountants make errors, however, despite reaching out to Frankford about the error, we have yet to hear back to understand what happened. It seems their lack of communication is not limited to the weeks around tax filing deadline. We will be looking for another tax professional next year, and would encourage others to approach Frankford with caution.

I questioned them for years on the inventory issues and finally fired them a year ago when they suggested I use someone else's sales tax ID to order wholesale items for my business. I had an independent accountant review my taxes and it turns out that they had in fact counted my inventory correctly every year and in 2021 alone I am due an amended return of $22,000 minus a $12,000 disallowance from the IRS. We still have to do 2022-2023 amended returns. This company has put me at risk of having to file for personal and professional bankruptcy and losing my health insurance as a disabled person. I cannot express how horrifying this experience has been and how they have screwed up my life and finances for the foreseeable future. Avoid at all costs If you are a current small business client with inventory products AND material components, get a second opinion, because they may have screwed you over too.

The services they offer are very expensive but cover various areas. I paid them a large amount of money for a specific tax request just to be told that my payment dud not include the service I requested. That was infuriating. I will not work with these people again.

I run a small business with a lot of moving parts, working in several states, and Ed and his team are key to keeping our finances clean, compliant, and on point. Their help with taxes, financial guidance, and payroll services, is second to none. Gone are the days of getting a call on April 14th saying we owe the IRS "XYZ." They explain things clearly, respond quickly to emails, and treat me as an asset to their business. The value is outstanding. If you need an accounting firm that combines expertise with genuine care, this is the real deal!

They met with me and walked through my situation. After working with them for several weeks they determined that what I owed was accurate. I paid them but determined that there was no need to go to a CPA for my tax situation, as I verified doing the taxes myself was accurate and not overly difficult. I imagine as taxes get more complicated that needing a CPA may be necessary. There was some period of time where my questions were going unanswered but they eventually got resolved, although slower than I had hoped for. A good local business!

Throughout that spring as John and I remained in contact, updating one another with whatever further information we had, I felt valued and appreciated as a client, and I appreciated that John was able to take the time to handle my filing with thoroughness and care. This winter, John has already sent me a preliminary file with all of my tax information ready, seeking updates anything that may have changed since last year. Once again, I appreciate the time John has taken to prepare this file for me, and has taken a lot of my organizational concerns away, since so much of that has already been taken care. Finally, I have been very pleased with John's knowledge of the current tax code, which have resulted in tax refunds that I have been very pleased with. It is with much enthusiasm that I recommend John D'Angelo for tax preparation assistance, for I find him to be very conscientious, personable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.
