Being a homeowner, I was leary of the task and figured professional was the way to go. Those chain places scare me. H&R block should be shut down, they prey on people. Anyhoo, I was delightfully surprised at how professional and effecient the Travis' were. No shaddy questions, straight to the point, they explain everything. Pricing reasonable enough. Definitely not the $300 the chain places will charge you. Mind you, I only have one federal and state return to file. I have since learned they are a family business, which is nice, the personal touch of business is a thing of the past, but it is so necessary. I have been going to the Travis' every since and I am pleased. It is relieving to know that I will not be audited or risk jail time for the sake of a dime.

In the most recent incident, after failing to file my business taxes, the accountant simply would not set aside two hours to finish my returns. I ended up calling him several times a week for months-28 calls in total. By the time he actually did the returns, I had thousands of dollars in penalties. I had to remind myself that I was in an accountants office because these guys were the ultimate chill guys. I felt as though I was talking to a freind over dinner; Chris genuinely cared about my situation and wanted give give me the best service possible. He also was interested in me as a person in general and not just another customer. I asked him a series of questions of different scenarios and he did not make me feel any less for asking. He patiently explained the process and did everything he could to make sure I would get the best possible outcome. Everything was taken care of on the spot. Really, do yourself a favor and go visit "the tax experts without the suits." They have the expertise and are looking out to give you the best possible resolution.
