Though I had many recommendations and referrals for other accountants, I chose to work with Rose because I chose to specifically support a woman and minority owned business. One piece of advice from Erin Benzakein from Floret about hiring a bookkeeper and accountant was that if you feel dumb or awful after meeting with either, then it's time for you to hire a new accountant/bookkeeper. I was having a hard time managing my own bookkeeping and was inquiring about this service. I met with Tara and she was condescending, defensive, and was gaslighting me when I started crying on the call after she went on a diatribe about the importance of bookkeeping. I also disagreed with her statement that "Bookkeeping is the backbone of your business." Unfortunately, Rose was also on the call and there wasn't any intervention. I would have rather just paid the penalties at the time that I filed instead of being surprised by letters from the IRS and PA. I can only assume Philadelphia will be contacting me shortly with more penalties. I reached out to him about the discrepancy, and he told me to call the IRS and take it up with them. He's been pretty terse and cocky, and frankly a little rude and off putting throughout our interactions. I can say that he filed the return pretty quickly after I got in touch with him (but it was the off season). I went with someone else this year.
