As an old timer IT and PC person, you need to have a special personality to work with old school tech users. I have a client who required a secondary support person who was well versed with Apple products and John filled the bill. The issue required patience and cooperation and a few hours. Together, we worked to get my client happily on the road to iPhone and Microsoft Outlook Nirvana. I was looking to get set up on a new mac mini and called John to find out what would be involved. I told him I had a friend who had offered to help me but wasn't sure I could trust my friend's judgment and John gave me a free consult. He explained what he would do and why he would do it and also warned me about potential pitfalls of not having enough storage. He didn't try to rush me and kept answering my questions. He seemed really desiring to be of service and very experienced. In fact, after I spoke with my friend, I called John back as he was curious why this friend (another certified mac specialist) would give me certain instructions and John was generous with his perspective, sharing with me the pros and cons. He is also about $50 an hour less expensive then others I've looked at and gave me ideas about how to optimize his time and do things on my own so it wouldn't be a super costly endeavor. I feel much more aware of my choices and secure and am going to go the path my friend suggested and do it myself but I'll definitely call John if I run into any snags and will definitely call him for future set ups, especially to pay him back for sharing his time with me. read more

Have a 7 year old Mac that seemed like it was in pretty good shape but just started running really slow. John diagnosed the problem ( in addition to offering a heap of other tips) and when the problem required a new hard drive he recommended the right specs, called the authorized Apple repair facility and fair costs for it all. I love you, Apple. Love. But same-day Genius Bar appointments are rare, they run up to 45 minutes behind and can only spend 15 minutes w/ you. Plus, the store is packed and smells like feet. AppleCare usually tells me to re-install my OS. It's like going to the student health center, they're gonna tell you you're pregnant or you've got mono. A friend had a great experience with John, so I called. He was at my apartment in 40 minutes and had my problem solved in ten. No reinstall. I asked about other stuff and he worked that all out, too. Now my iPhone syncs perfectly with the computer, music, photos, address book, all good. He got me going on iCal, which I never would've used, totally keeps me on track. I've got six email accounts coming into mail, don't ask me how! John's funny & has a visual way of explaining things where they just make sense. Total value. I've bought two Apple One-On-One packages and only used a few sessions. Wish I'd put that $ toward time w/John. From now on, I will. I have used Mac's in my business and home office. you name it I got it. One thing, I am horrible at understanding how it all works. I have gone through at least 4 "experts" All leaving me with more problems than when the started. John is a sanity saver! Available when you really need him. will work remotely or on site. I've done things to my computers that no one could undo, except John. He keeps it simple, does the work and I always learn something new. He is the best around!! I don't leave home without him!! Since I travel alot, he's still always available for the pesky quirks when you are in china or right at home. Patient doesn't even cover it.
