Second trip to London we took the London underground from Heathrow to Holborn all along the Piccadilly line without transferring. 23 stops along the line but we we were seated the entire time carrying day packs and one carry-on luggage each.. The cost was the equivalent of $7 per person. If you are coming from Heathrow airport during rush hour you can take the Heathrow Express directly from the airport too Paddington station. For two people this would be about the same Fare as Uber. And you would still have to get from Paddington station to your central London hotel. In our case we could have taken the Elizabeth Express from Heathrow airport to Tottenham Court road station and walked the mile to our hotel near Holborn underground station. The fair would have been about double that of the London underground. Both of the Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line are more luggage friendly. Compared to the London underground. The London underground has contactless payment. You simply scan your credit card on entry and scan the same credit card on exit. Seats seats are cloth with armrest. People with oversized luggage can put your luggage near the doors in special areas. is not advised during peak hours was standing room only. Unlike New York City most London stations have working escalators making it possible, but not easy, to carry luggage on the trains. Make sure you put your luggage on its side. One person put his luggage on his wheels in the luggage area but the luggage rolled out the entrance on its own at the next stop.

London Underground is certainly cheaper than a taxi or uber, and we had no problems finding room on the trains with our luggage (two people, each with a carry on). As expected, some stations are more modern than others since they are utilized more. I loved that I could tap my credit card to get through the gates onto the train, rather than buying a physical card or downloading an app. I wish the DC Metro used this system.

I've never thought of reviewing a bus route before, but after finding multiple buses including this one in Yelp after trying to search for London General, I feel it is highly appropriate due to the awful level of serve I received on my final day in the city, as I attempted to get to London Euston from Piccadilly, wanting to avoid the tube as I knew the bus would take the same amount of time (probably working out quicker avoiding getting to the platform on the tube which often can be frustrating and time-consuming). I attempted to board the bus as normal, but I noticed an issue with the front of the bus only displaying Oxford Circus, I hoped this was a mistake only to find out the bus would terminate there, which ended up just outside Apple's flagship, awesome Regent Street branch, just over a miles walk away. I was told there was another 88 service behind to take me on for the rest of my journey. I waited... only for the next bus to also terminate at the same location, after watching the next 88 bus also terminate at Apple on Regent Street, I again as well as others who were waiting began confused, asking the driver to get the same method. After the next bus, we were finally made aware by a non-driver about a demonstration. I understand London General and the Number 88 bus can't do anything to stop demonstrations and protests but surely keeping customers informed rather than lying to them, giving them false hope and re-assurance just to "shut them up" and "get them off the bus" is wrong and disgusting behaviour, showing abysmal customer service which I'd even go as far to say is amongst the worst I've received from a bus company, and that says a lot considering I have had to deal with First Manchester back home for many years, who don't even acknowledge my complaints anymore. 1*

The staff at the station seem friendlier here than most, more recently I was offered help changing trains, and another staff member let me through the gate as my Oyster Card would not scan (DO NOT do this, as it means you could be charged the maximum fare, this meant my £2.40 journey cost £5.80). It can be a long walk from entering the station to the platform, or between trains, via multiple lifts/staircases, the station is really easy to follow though, it just always seems like you end up walking further than you actually spend on the tube. The station is fully step-free in terms of lift access with a ramped exit that takes you to Green Park. Multiple buses also stop right outside the station. 4* - It isn't the most modern or attractive of stations on the network having opened in 1906, but I like it.
