Working with Victor started out well, then went bad once the actual work began. I gave him my…read morebudget, which was a mistake, but did not receive a contract. He did the bare minimum. His guys did three sections of edging and walkway wrong. When they had to redo they didn't level and it still looks poor. They also entirely covered up the pool drain and wouldn't come dig it up until I proved to them with photos that it existed. This was late fall last year and I asked Victor multiple times if the landscaping and grass would survive the winter. He assured me it would and if not he'd come back and replace what died. At the end of the project he gave an invoice, not a receipt showing I paid, and there were no terms or warranties on this invoice. His group did all of the work for the landscaped bed, they did the edging, all the paper and stone, installed the irrigation, set the duration and frequency for the irrigation. He did everything for the plant's environment and care. Now it's after winter and multiple items didn't make it. After 6 phone calls and 3 emails he finally responded saying there's only a 3 month warranty, so he will not do anything. Even though he never mentioned a 3 month warranty at the beginning and he assured me he'd take care of any issues, he's chosen to avoid me and do nothing. After a $10K project he won't replace some dead plants. I'm hoping he will come around and agree to do what he said, if not my lawyer has helped me to prepare for small claims court. I would strongly recommend against using Victor Ramirez and Big Tex Landscaping. I created a Yelp account just to leave this review for others to be aware. The end result is nothing short of incredible and more than met my expectations! I first saw a recommendation for Arbor Pro on a local social media website. We touched base by email and Jason placed me on his wait list. He asked about our needs and expectations and we shared information about each other's love of plants. At that time, Jason was a one man team with a long list of waiting customers and we were willing to wait for a certified arborist - they are hard to find in the southern corridor - and two months later we were excited to hear from Jason and scheduled an appointment to get a quote. Our quote for 5 mature (28 yr. old) native Texas trees and 2 overgrown heirloom rose bushes all to be trimmed was very reasonable and it took them all day. Considering how cold it was, I was impressed with their endurance. They moved everything off of the patio and raked the yard, picking up every little branch. They used a blower to make sure the patio, driveway, and all surfaces were cleared of sawdust and any debris. I asked for firewood from my ash and oak and ended up with it cut and stacked in the ring. The rose bushes were perfectly trimmed! I wouldn't have thought a tree service would know what to do with my heirlooms; but the old dead canes were all removed, the wind damaged ones gone and symmetry restored. Jason also let me know that an Emerald Ash Borer is attacking and killing Texas Ash trees. He treated my trees pre-emptively and advised me to continue to do so annually. Our yard has balance and beauty again. We've never had such thorough service. I highly recommend Jason Junier, Certified Arborist, and Arbor Pro for your tree care.
