Beware! My gardener…read morebrought to my attention that I had a leak in my front yard. After digging around the saturated area, I discovered it was my main water line. I immediately contacted Orange Coast Plumbing, and they sent a technician out the following day. When the technician arrived, he was friendly, professional, and appeared very knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue, evaluated the exposed piping, and was able to identify the exact location of the leak. Shortly afterward, he informed me that he did not have the proper materials with him but assured me that if I was comfortable with a $2,000 repair, he would return the next day and fix the problem. The technician returned the following day and began the work. Not long after, I received a call stating that the pipe underground was "outdated" and that the only solution was to run an entirely new main water line from the street to the house at an estimated cost of $20,000. Needless to say, I was shocked. Just one day earlier, I had been told with confidence that the leak could be repaired for $2,000. I informed the technician that I would need time to consider my options. At that point, he stated that he needed payment for the work already performed, so my wife wrote him a check for $1,000. When I returned home later that day, I found that my concrete had been jackhammered, my lawn had been torn up, my drip irrigation line had been cut, and a sprinkler line had been damaged. In other words, I paid $1,000 to have my property left in worse condition than when Orange Coast Plumbing arrived. Based on my experience, this felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic designed to upsell a customer from a $2,000 repair to a $20,000 replacement project. I ultimately hired a third-party plumber who evaluated the issue and successfully resolved it. In addition, I obtained three separate quotes for replacing the same main water line, and they ranged from $7,500 to $9,900. That is a far cry from the $20,000 price quoted by Orange Coast Plumbing. Before posting this review, I made multiple attempts to contact management to discuss and resolve the situation directly. Unfortunately, my concerns were not addressed. I would have preferred to settle this matter privately, but since that effort went nowhere, I feel obligated to share my experience so other homeowners can make informed decisions. I cannot recommend Orange Coast Plumbing based on my experience.

AUSTON V, (the owner of WRENCH-IT) was recommended to us by the plumber that replaced our water heater, installed an expansion tank and water softener system. That plumber (SWIFT PLUMBING) specializes in those items. We wanted to replace two toilets and a bathroom faucet. SWIFT said AUSTON used to work for them and they highly recommend him. After being stood-up by a Home Depot referral plumber, I called WRENCH-IT. AUSTON quickly gave us an estimate based on photos we texted him of our old toilets and faucet. WRENCH-IT was able to schedule us for only two days out. Perfect timing to go along with other contractor work we were dealing with. AUSTON is great at texting back in a timely manner. He answered our many questions during the day and evening. We're sure he was on the job many times when we texted with more questions. AUSTON arrived when he said he would and his two other workers (DAVID and JUSTIN) arrived shortly afterward. They were prepared with canvas tarps to cover the floor and had all the tools and additional parts needed to install the two toilets and faucet that we provided. They were fast and did a very thorough and clean job. They were done in about two hrs and would have finish much sooner if I didn't keep asking them questions. AUSTON and his crew were EXCELLENT. Everything we asked them, they took care of, and then some. The caulking in the bathroom where they were putting in the new faucet was in need of some work and they took care of that with no problem. The caulking was not even part of the faucet replacement. Another contractor recently splashed some Thin-set on a bathroom wall and they cleaned it off. I asked how to replace the gasket in the new toilet and they showed me how to do it. They hauled away the old toilets and faucet, as well as the giant cardboard boxes that held the toilets. There was a small chip on one of the toilet tank lids and they brought it to my attention right after unpacking it. AUSTON and his crew are extremely competent, friendly, professional, patient and very reasonably priced. We have found our FOREVER PLUMBER. We are more than happy with him and his service and have put WRENCH-IT on speed-dial! They were a pleasure to work with. Give AUSTON a call and you won't be sorry! **Update** I recently called Wrench-It for another plumbing job and learned AUSTON was no longer in the business and it is currently run by another person.
