I am super sad to hear Eneko Restaurante in Bilbao proper didn't make it. The one in Larrabetzu is still there but covid has claimed its victim. However chef Eneko Atxa opened a new concept in town featuring the merger of Basque and Japanese cuisine. Now they've just opened and are trying to figure out their footing but Im confident they'll solidify the execution and refine the menu. If you've eaten a lot traditional Basque or Japanese cuisine on their own there are little details to nitpick. Like the tempura maybe a but heavy and the nigiri rice is not warm enough. These are execution details can be fixed. At end was it delicious? Yes. That's what matters most. The bogavante and duck dishes were sone of the best examples of said proteins I've had in a while. As most new restaurants the service staff are getting a hang of it too and like all others they're understaffed so one was to be understanding.
