I spoke to Tom on the phone after one of his work trucks flew by me on 295 between exits 43 and 40…read morethis past Monday, May 18th, 2026, at 3:20pm. A board or panel flew out of his employee's work truck and hit my windshield and broke it. The driver didn't pull over, but he tried to get away and I followed him off exit 40 and into the parking lot near AT&T and Vibe. The driver, Jack, said that it was his employer's truck and he did not know about the insurance. He said that he was coming from a job and someone else loaded the truck. The driver called his foreman, Nick, (that's what he stated he was) and explained the situation. The guy on the phone said that he did not know the insurance info, but he would call Tom to get it and call me back. They seemed like reasonable people so I took them at their word. They never got back to me. I eventually called Tom today, 5/22, after looking him up online. As soon as I identified myself Tom's tone was nasty and defensive. I explained what happened and Tom told me that I was lying and accused me of trying to get a free windshield from him. I told him I took photos of the truck, plates, driver, and damage right when it happened. Tom said that I did not have it on video so the suggestion was that there is nothing I can do about it. He eventually hung up after 1.5 minutes. Completely rude and disrespectful. He has absolutely no integrity and I can only imagine that he runs his business the same way he responded to me when I told him that one of his work trucks damaged my car. Clearly not honest people. Simple accident (luckily no one was hurt), but absolutely horrible accountability.
