They gut renovated both of our bathrooms, which was no easy task considering the overall age of our house, size of our bathroom, and required customization. They are incredibly hard working and always checked with us about our needs during the construction period. We feel very fortunate that we hired them. The quality of work in our bathrooms is top notch. Their ability to proceed with care, efficiency, problem-solve, communicate, and their attention to detail is outstanding. We feel like we had so many tall requests for this project and they delivered on all of them.

Great communication throughout the process, and the workers were so polite and respectful. They cleaned everything up at the end of each day and were lovely to have around. Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

Finally, the "design" consisted of two printed pages from a software program and a few minutes worth of keyword searches on build.com. We strongly recommend you stay away from this contractor.

I contacted several contractors to give me an estimate of the work. Thomas Buckborough and Associates immediately returned my call and within a couple of days I had an estimate and a completion time-frame that met my needs. I received a few other estimates eventually but the one I received from Thomas Buckborough was the best. His firm completed the work when promised and did so to the highest standards. I would highly recommend his business to anyone looking to do any kind of work on their home.

I have had a couple people in to quote the job, 1 said we only needed to put wood filler in the cracks of my railing posts....ummm, I'm no expert but pretty sure that won't fix the safety aspect. Anyway, Jerry said he couldn't do the job right now because he has too many pending projects, but he still swung by to look at the railings & stairs to confirm my suspicions that they need to be replaced in order to be safe for my family. He took time out of his day for a non-paying client and gave honest assessment of the work needed to be done. While I really want to fix the unsafe railings, part of me hopes I can't find someone else until he is available for the job!

Both John S. and Clint K. were easy to work with during the estimate phase and provided an approximate start month which they stuck too once the contract was signed. All phases of the construction were done efficiently and fluidly. There was very little downtime in between trades and they found ways to keep progress through a New England winter. The employees of Northwoods were all skilled, courteous, and clean. They performed some amazing tile and carpentry work and all the other subcontractor trades they brought in, from the framers to the plasterers, painters, plumber, electrician, insulation, landscape/hardscaping, etc. were all exceptional.
