We have both of our children enrolled (5 and 3). Our five year old is in private classes and our 3…read moreyear old is in a group class. The kids are making incredible progress in the pool. They have a wonderful time and look forward to each lesson. I can't recommend this safe, friendly and knowledgeable school enough. Our daughter's private instructor, John is just incredible. First, she has the same instructor each lesson. He has formed such a bond with her. She trusts him and really has a wonderful smile on her face the whole time (even after coughing a little from the water). Her confidence and skills are growing day by day. The group classes are also stellar. Don't be turned off by the "group" part. The ratio is kept down to 3 to 1 and each kid gets plenty of solo instruction. They are given appropriate breaks and then it back out with an instructor to learn more. Our son has a warm smile on his face the entire time. His skills have grown leaps and bounds. If you're looking for classes for your kids this school is definitely worth taking a look at. At first we thought it was a little expensive (and compared with schools like 'The Connection" it is, but the results are completely worth it. They run a safe, friendly and fun school all while being focused on developing real skills.

Not the greatest experience. Apparently they have a no refund policy, but don't provide trial…read moreclasses. I signed my son up for the beginner class. He had been in swimming lessons before, but didn't fit the description of the next level up. Turns out it was way to easy. Another problem was that there is no safety barrier for small children spectators. Just a bench and a few feet until the pools edge. I had to bring my 2 year-old, which was nerve racking. There is a waiting room, but if you wait there you can't see your child swim. Because there was no trial offered, I simply asked for a refund, which they were reluctant to give. So I asked to roll the amount into private lessons in the morning (which is the only time that fits my schedule). A few weeks went by and the only time slot they could provide was 11:30, which didn't work for us, so I asked for a refund again. Eventually they docked me the first class and sent me a check (adding an unfriendly note in the memo), but overall it wasn't a good customer service experience. When I texted (their preferred method of contact) I often got no response for days, and then when I called the person I spoke was wasn't friendly at all. Oh well!

Came here for my sons classmates party ! Great idea, indoor swimming and pizza after. The boys had…read morea great time. The place overall is a bit dated/ worn. The lifeguard on duty gave each child a brief swim test and made sure those not as skilled had the proper flootys. There is a change room area for the swimmers also. As I type the party is haulers by the presence of a huge bug on the table... I noticed everyone complaining about their eyes and throat burning in the pool. I will say of all the local swim places this place had the best rates for swim lessons so I will be in touch for that. I will absolutely recommend this place for lessons, or a local party option.

( Changed only bc of a change in schedules). Pros- great instructors, variety of times available, they let you reschedule a class if missed bc of sickness, very clean, good area for parents/sibling to wait/view lessons. Cons- sometimes up to 3 kids to one instructor and some kids need a little more help than others, so there is sometimes alot of down time during 30 minute lesson- sometimes- depends! Overall though, it is a great place and cost reasonable. They also have "parent night out" events (at an additional charge), which I hear the kids love. We have never used that service.

NJSwim is a business first and foremost, and inherently act as child's gatekeeper to swimming…read moreability. Their number one goal is to make as much profit as possible with a business strategy of stretching your child's swim education experience out for as long as possible. For $140 for four 30 minute sessions, our daughter received about 28 1-2 minute laps around the pool during a shared session. So each 1-2 minute lap was $5 each. There is more sitting time than swimming time. The description of the course in which she was enrolled in on paper did align with her current swimming ability, however the course we decided to enroll her in based off their recommendation was a complete waste of our time and money. It consisted mainly of gently dipping her head in the water, floating on her back, and getting pulled around in the pool. She is at the point where she could learn how to paddle, but this wasn't even covered and you need to play a guessing game when selecting the course that covers that technique- NJSwim thrives off you selecting 2-3 courses lower than your child's ability based off THEIR descriptions. They may as well of have a weekly $140 donation box. NJSwim gets 2 stars because the personnel appeared to have safe practices, but we will not be returning and definitely not recommending this place to anyone. Save your money and go with private lessons.
