They source many different types of superior and exotic seafood types from different areas of the world and feature daily special offerings. I love that I can request the fatty belly portion of salmon and yellowtail sashimi and they often have fatty toro tuna. I love that they will flash fry the body portion along with the heads on sweet shrimp and fried prawn orders (I don't like raw shrimp). I love their exceptionally good ginger dressing and usually get an extra side portion of it! I love that they most often have sea urchin available (and often several types) that I like to enjoy with shredded daikon and shiso leaves! I love their shrimp and vegetable tempura! I love their fresh scallop hand roll with mayo and fish roe! I love their 'distinguished gentleman' roll with seared tenderloin beef and lobster! I love their broad selection of cold sake choices! However, the miso soup missed the mark for us. The broth tasted watered down with hardly any pieces of tofu and seaweed. I left as a human sushi roll with zero self-control and absolutely no regrets. Round 1: "I'll pace myself." Round 2: "Okay but these rolls are tiny, so it doesn't count." Round 3: "We don't quit in this family." Round 4: I started negotiating with my waistband. The sushi? Fresh, fast, and dangerously delicious. Like... suspiciously good for something labeled "all you can eat." The spicy tuna had me questioning my loyalty to every other sushi place I've ever been to. And the fried rolls? Crispy little traps of joy. AND the vibe? Super cute, really clean, and tons of seating--so even while I was making questionable life choices, at least I was doing it in a place that felt put together and comfortable. Service was on POINT. Our server kept the plates coming like they were personally invested in my downfall. At one point I'm pretty sure they made eye contact with me like, "You sure about this?" No. No I was not. By the end, I was: 70% sushi 20% soy sauce 10% poor decision-making Would I go back? Absolutely. Will I learn my lesson? Absolutely not. Pro tip: Do not say "just one more roll." It is never just one more roll. 10/10 would roll myself out of there again.

Their rice is like creamy happiness and makes the sushi so much better. Their fish is fresh every time. We have tried almost every roll and have never been disappointed. They have other dishes as well. Whether it is Ramen or Katsu, you will love it. If you like spicy, try their Spicy beef ramen or the spicy kani salad. So good and if you're ailing, the ramen soup will nurse you back to health. The service is excellent. Everyone works hard as you will see them scurrying around to ensure everyone is served. The best part is the floor manager. Her name is Mama. She watches over the customers and staff with a watchful eye. She is so awesome. Older woman with the spunk of a teenager. The owner and family always have a smile for all customers too. Good people. MAKE RESERVATIONS!!! Do not just show up or you will likely have to wait. This is most nights, but especially in the weekends. And the food to value is excellent. No matter what form your sushi takes here, the quality is excellent and prices are good as well. We had some specific needs, the guest of honor is a vegetarian, very environmentally conscious and supports sustainability. Chef Danny and his wife Katie Clark created such a fantastic event that not only fulfilled the needs of every guest, but knocked it into the stratosphere. Firstly the food. The menu was so thoughtfully put together. Fresh, innovative dishes for every palate that were just so delicious and looked absolutely beautiful. Every guest was so excited about the food, it was a repeated topic of conversation throughout the event. My personal favorite was the blueberry cobbler crumble with chantilly of which I ate 5, but we'll move quickly past that...sorry not sorry. Honestly, I wish I'd had leftovers for breakfast this morning. The beautiful sustainable bamboo plates and "silverware" were gorgeous and a perfect compliment too and much appreciated by Ainsley. Next, the bar curated and tended by the hostess-with-the-mostest Katie, co-owner of Drifters with husband Chef Danny. Katie put together an array of delicious drink options around certain specifics we'd requested and ensured everyone had their needs anticipated and met instantly. Beautiful drinks in compostable drinkware and stunning edible decorations. The mocktails for the non-drinkers were perfection. Bravo! The presentation, decoration and attention to the smallest of details made the event just extra special - fresh flowers in Ainsley's school colors at the bar, gorgeous ice baths for the drinks and beautifully displayed fresh flowers surrounding the food itself, which were like works of art. Visually stunning as well as beautiful to eat and drink. Like I said earlier, they knocked it into another galaxy in every aspect. Lastly, but certainly not least, the service. From start to finish, every single member of the Drifters team made this such an easy and fun experience. The offers of help for anything we might need throughout the process was unexpected and absolutely above and beyond what was required, but we were so very grateful and appreciative of all they did. The team puts their heart, soul and love into their work and it shows in abundance. They did it all with genuine smiles on their faces; each of them happy, calm and confident, no stress, no fuss. It was a pleasure to work with them. We've been regular customers of Drifters the restaurant and now we can say that we love their event catering just as much as we love their restaurant. I'm already thinking about what next event we have coming up...I need that blueberry dessert again. To the Drifters family, thank you from our family to yours for helping us make such great memories that we'll have for years to come. We love you guys. We didn't get that many pictures because we were too busy eating and enjoying ourselves with family and friends, as is the mark of a great party, but hopefully you get the general idea

The woman answering the phone was very pleasant when placing the order, and I received a warm, friendly greeting when I arrived for pickup. I ordered the Hot Mama Roll, which was easily my favorite of the evening. The combination of kani, eel, avocado, masago, and jalapeños wrapped in mamenori delivered the perfect balance of flavors, and I absolutely loved the jalapeño kick. If you're a fan of spicy sushi, this one is a must-try. I highly recommend pairing it with spicy mayo. We also tried the Rising Sun Roll, featuring cucumber, tempura kani, masago, and avocado, topped with tuna, salmon, and ebi with a touch of sriracha. Everything tasted very fresh, and the variety of seafood made for a flavorful roll. My only wish was for a little more heat. Clearly, I love my spice! Adding some jalapeño would have taken it to the next level for me. That said, it paired wonderfully with eel sauce, which added a nice touch of sweetness. Overall, Mangetsu delivered fresh, flavorful sushi and friendly service. A great option for takeout in downtown Melbourne, especially if you're looking for quality sushi later in the evening. We'll definitely be back.

After waiting nearly 30 minutes just to place our order, we patiently sat and watched as other tables--who arrived after us--received their food. An hour passed, and still nothing. We asked our server multiple times about our order, and each time they either ignored us or mumbled something about it "being on the way." Spoiler alert: it never came. As if that wasn't bad enough, when we finally gave up and asked for the check, they had the nerve to try and charge us for the food we never received! When we pointed out the mistake, the staff acted annoyed and defensive, as if we were the problem. No apology, no explanation--just a rude attitude and a half-hearted offer to "check with the kitchen," which at that point was pointless.
