I have a very bad sneezing and stuffy nose, she made a tests and in the beginning she said she knows what she is doing multiple visits twice a week and multiple injections and result is a big zero. My husband has a blocked nose 7/24 (seems like he is sick with sneezing and stuffy, blocked nose which he can't breathe normal. She did a tests and said he has an allergy to oak trees and mold (couldn't describe what type of mold) and pollen. So she injected too many drugs within a year and said it will get away for the next pollen season. But guess what ? Instead of getting away it became worse and worse. And when we try to see her she doesn't want to see us, front desk says she is busy we can see other people. All we needed that my husband JUST COULD BREATHE PROPERLY. So if you don't know how to help you just may say please see another doctors. But instead of that you preferred money! DON'T waste your time, money and more important DON'T WASTE YOUR BODY, find another doctors asap which they can help you with your allergies. read more

I have horrible seasonal allergies. This spring was the worst ever for me - so bad that one day I had to take a sick day from work because I was so miserable. I've seen several doctors and taken dozens of various allergy medications over the years, but nothing every worked. One visit to Dr. Rohatgi and she immediately suggested a medicine I've never tried before. Bingo! Almost 100% relief in a week. Three weeks later and I'm still feeling amazing. I've been a patient of Dr. Rohatgi for about 8 months and visit the office 1-2 times a week for allergy shots. I can say wholeheartedly that Dr. R and her staff, Tiesha and Ruby, are as good as it gets. They always are conscientious and careful, flexible and thoughtful with billing, and very good listeners when I have questions or concerns. They create a truly welcoming and fun environment in the office. I've never had strong feelings about shots, but now I truly enjoy the experience of getting them -- not only are my allergies subsiding, but we always have a ton of fun kidding around in the waiting room. More importantly, a few months ago I had a pretty scary systemic reaction and the team took incredibly good care of me, for which I'm very grateful. A few years ago, I became horribly sick, at one point coughing 24-hours a day non-stop for about six weeks. No one, not my regular doctor, not the ER doctors, not the urgent care doctors, could figure out what was wrong with me. After repeated diagnoses of bronchitis (despite me telling them that several rounds of antibiotics and inhalers had done nothing) everyone started implying that this was all in my head and that there was nothing actually wrong with me. Thank goodness one of them told me to go see Dr. R! She was the first doctor who told me that we would get to the bottom of my problem and I would get better. When you have a mystery illness, you have NO idea how comforting that is!! Sure enough, she discovered my severe mold allergy and helped me identify where I was getting exposed, and I was better in no time. Dr. Rohtagi performed allergy testing on me without any prior consultation - just straight from the door, into the testing room! Why this would be done was readily apparent when I was sent a bill for my portion of the testing which exceeded $300. Had I been advised in advance that I will be tested and how much of it will be out of pocket expense, I would have suffered through the allergies. To add insult to injury, after all the testing, Dr. Rohtagi gave me over the counter salt water nasal drops and sent me packing with some brochures on how to wash my linens and change pillow cases. As anyone with allergies know, I have already done EXTENSIVE research and taken every measure to help myself before I couldn't take it anymore and had to go see a specialist. Well, I ended up with over $300 worth of over the counter nasal spray and advice to wash my sheets. read more

Dr. Rohatgi is an excellent doctor. She listens sympathetically, asks the right questions, and comes up with workable solutions to your symptoms. In D.C.'s environment of of arrogant, abrasive doctors, Dr. Rohatgi is a breath of fresh air. She listened to my preference for blood testing as opposed to skin, diagnosed my nonallergic rhinitis and provided me with a nasal spray that actually works. She makes an effort to not over-medicate her patients and is excellent at looking at a patient's ENTIRE history and examining your problems within the bigger picture. I had 3 days of hives and was suggested to go to an allergist before my travel abroad. I checked the yelp reviews and decided i would go to Dr. Rohatgi. The staff was very pleasant and the Dr. is very nice. She decided that there was no reason to do a bunch of tests on me and said that since it only happened once in my life i should make sure i bring benedryl with me when i travel. I respect that fact that she didnt put me through a whole bunch of allergy tests! I enjoyed this experience! read more

Go see Dr. Rohatgi if you like getting brushed off, misdiagnosed, exposed to hazardous waste, experiencing violations of HIPAA, and dealing with an incompetent staff and billing office. First off, when I arrived at Dr. Rohatgi's office, I found the place to be disgusting: a thick layer of dust everywhere...at an allergist's office! Her staff do patient intake, including asking private questions related to medical and mental health history, medications, weight, etc. in a room without a door that is adjacent to the waiting room (the office is tiny). I heard everything about the depression meds that the guy before me was taking, and I'm sure he now knows exactly how much I weigh and why I had come into the office. While sitting getting my blood pressure taken, I noticed that my chair was pushed up against a box of hazardous waste (discarded needles from allergy shots). The box was wide open, overflowing, and I was essentially sitting on top of it. One slip of the rolling chair could have sent me into that box and at-risk. As for the actual allergy testing, one of the nurses was being "trained" to give me the allergen injections and had no idea what she was doing. Dr. Rohatgi ended up running out the back room and telling her that she was using the wrong set of testers. Absurd! Long story short, Dr. Rohatgi couldn't figure out what my allergies were, gave me some ineffective medications (I went to see another allergist afterwards who gave me different medications that actually worked), and insisted that my allergies must have been caused by dust in my apartment and that there was nothing she could do for me. She made me watch a VHS from 1992 about how to clean your apartment, and sent me off with an exorbitant bill (that actually was miscalculated, and ended up overcharging me). DO NOT GO TO DR. The nurses and doctor don't use gloves to give shots or examination, so patients be aware... Other than that, it is one of the only allergy offices I know around and it takes my insurance which keeps me going here. read more

I first discovered Dr. Rohatgi at the recommendation of a coworker. Since moving to DC ten years ago, I have developed severe seasonal allergies (thanks a lot, trees) and couldn't function for 6-8 weeks at a time each spring. Dr. Rohatgi is a no non-sense kind of a lady, a straight shooter who will not waste anyone's time. I've gotten my seasonal allergies checked out by her, as well as random stress hives, and each time she miraculously pinpoints to the cause and prescribes appropriate meds to deal with them. That said, she never overprescribes, which is always a good thing. Whenever I sat around the office waiting for allergy testing results to show up on my arms, I always see numerous patients go in and out of the office for their daily or weekly shots, all of them addressed by name. Dr. Rohatgi operates out of the Foggy Bottom office 2-3 times per week, and she is in her MD office for the rest of the week, so make sure you know which one you'd like to go to. She can get in new and last minute patients in pretty quickly too. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr Rohatgi several years ago. I went in because my fall allergies give me incredible, unending headaches and needed a tweak to my stack of pills. We went through several rounds of testing (the dreaded pricks) and she was very attentive and personable. We broke it up into multiple sessions because the cat allergen wrapped half way around my arm but unlike the last Dr who tested me and paid little attention in between, she prevented me from going into partial anaphylactic shock. I suppose this is just 'her job' rather than something praiseworthy but I felt comfortable in her care and in her office and highly recommend her. read more

I visited and was not impressed. I was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis due to pollen after going threw several rounds of skin and breathing tests. In the end, I was handed a lab order. I went to the lab and received the Exact same results. I was later told I should think about going on Allergy Shots. I agreed to the Allergy Shots, which was a huge mistake!! I received several final notice bill/statements in the mail before I even started Allergy Shots. I paid my bill/statement and decided not to return for the Allergy Shots. I personally think this doctor is Greedy! and has Horrible! bedside manner. read more

I did my first allergy test here in the summer and it just took me a while to finish writing my review. I had an 8am appointment, and was referred to her by my doctor. Dr. Rohatgi was actually manning the front desk (and didn't realize she was the doctor at the time I arrived!) and was very friendly and told me to take my time with the paperwork. She then brought me to the back to review my medical history and spent at least 40 min asking me questions and was very thorough. She then had her assistant, Marina help with the testing as she watched nearby. Both were very nice and knew what they were doing. They administered a a few more tests, where I found out I was allergic to dustmite and mold (thank goodness I recentl moved out of a basement apt in dupont!) and it did make sense why I had some bad breathing problems for the past 2 years. I was there for about an hour and a half and I have to say not one second was wasted waiting for the doctor! read more

I am now able to enjoy spring in D.C. because of Dr. Rohatgi. I never really had noticeable allergy issues while growing up on the West Coast. After moving to D.C. two years ago, my allergies hit me hard and last year was unbearable. Dr. Rohatgi helped me be proactive about my allergies this year and she has done a great job! She is very professional, pleasant, and effective. She is not a believer in prescribing the strongest drugs that are out there once she sees you for the first time. She has provided me with non-medicine and medicine methods that greatly help me. And, her study of my allergies didn't stop at the first visit. She has given me "homework" to do throughout the year, which includes having to be very aware of my symptoms so that she can determine the real causes and aggravating factors. I've recommended her to everyone I know who has allergy issues, including my fiance - who is a big fan too. read more

Lots of other allergists (one in particular who has incredibly showy offices in DC) just throw random drugs at you without even paying attention to what you're telling them or without taking a scientific, thoughtful approach to diagnosing you. Dr. Rohatni blows all these other allergists out of the water. She is kind, patient, and is absolutely committed to figuring out the fundamental problem, not just treating whatever sympton you happen to be showing that day. She helped me to see that figuring this out would be a process, and helped me to understand that I am empowered to figure out how to make myself healthy. She definitely does not over-medicate; she is always trying to reduce your drugs if that is the right thing to do. And she makes sure to only allow you to change one thing in between visits (and keep the other medicines/situations as the "control"), so she and you can be sure to identify what is working and what is not working. Dr. Rohatni is probably the best doctor I have ever been to. And I think her staff is very warm and friendly and helpful! read more

First and foremost, the hours of operation. This doctor is only open three days a week in each location (DC or Maryland) and only six hours each day. For a physician, this is unacceptable. Secondly, if the doctor decides to take off or leave the country, she will not give notice and closes her office. This means that you cannot schedule your allergy shots based on your own personal schedule, and you are often forced to start over with maintenance. This cost the patients more money, but puts more money in the doctor's pockets. The staff is not so professional or polite. If you are sitting at the front desk, your representation is the most important. Some of the girls giving shots really do not know how to give shots. They are sometimes painful and itchy. Please keep up with your bills because they sometimes duplicate. They are good at handing you a bill when you step into the office and it is usually a bill you just paid. Lastly and most importantly, if you run out of medication, this doctor will not refill prescriptions unless you make an appointment (all about making money). Jeopardizing my health is the ultimate negative. read more
